About Happy Bee Kitchen
Welcome to Happy Bee Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant located at 17901 Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, California. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Happy Bee Kitchen offers a diverse menu of classic Chinese dishes and is particularly known for its flavorful seafood options, as highlighted in customer reviews. Whether you're looking for a special occasion meal or a satisfying everyday dish, Happy Bee Kitchen aims to provide a delicious dining experience in a casual setting.
One enthusiastic customer described their experience as "EXCELLENT!!" and specifically mentioned a "lobster feast" on Thanksgiving Day. Their order included the House Special Lobster, combination fried rice, and egg drop soup, all of which were described as "amazingly delicious flavored." The reviewer particularly praised the "lobster gravy and everything in it," expressing such enjoyment that they jokingly wanted to eat the shell. This positive feedback underscores the restaurant's ability to deliver flavorful and memorable seafood dishes, making it a potential destination for special occasions or for those craving high-quality lobster.
The same reviewer also commented on the services, describing them as "awesome." Furthermore, they characterized the dining experience as "casual dining with delicious food!" This suggests that Happy Bee Kitchen offers a relaxed and comfortable environment where the focus is on enjoying well-prepared and tasty meals. A notable aspect of the service mentioned was the server proactively packing the leftover food for the customer, which was a pleasant surprise and indicative of attentive service.
Another customer shared their experience during a Saturday lunch visit, which provides a more nuanced perspective on the service. Upon arrival, they noted that the restaurant was "not too crowded" but observed that the staff seemed "all preoccupied." This resulted in a several-minute wait before being ushered to a table, almost leading them to leave. Eventually, someone cleaned a nearby table and seated them with an apologetic look. This initial experience suggests that service might be inconsistent or potentially slow during busy periods or if the staff is occupied.
The same reviewer also mentioned that roasted peanuts were served as an appetizer. However, they experienced a lack of attention initially, as "no one came around to give us a menu," prompting them to retrieve one themselves from the counter. Subsequently, they had to make eye contact with the person who seated them to finally have their order taken. This part of the review highlights potential issues with attentiveness and proactive service during their visit.
Despite the initial service hiccups, the reviewer's feedback on the food itself was overwhelmingly positive. They ordered classic Chinese dishes, including wonton noodle soup, honey walnut shrimp, clam with black bean sauce, and chow fun with beef. They stated that the restaurant "redeem themselves with their food," noting that the servings were generous and all the dishes tasted great. Their personal favorites were the wonton noodle soup and the honey walnut shrimp, indicating the quality and flavor of these classic offerings.
The second part of the dining experience for this reviewer improved significantly when a server named June took over. June was commended for taking care of them "from beginning to end," checking in on them frequently, and being "polite, respectful, and courteous." This positive interaction with June salvaged the experience and left the customer with a favorable impression of the food and the later service, leading them to state, "We will come back again for sure to try out other dishes." This suggests that while initial service might have been lacking, there are staff members who provide excellent customer care.
In summary, Happy Bee Kitchen in Artesia, CA, is a Chinese restaurant that appears to excel in the quality and flavor of its food, particularly its seafood dishes like the House Special Lobster and classic options such as honey walnut shrimp and wonton noodle soup. The portions are reported to be generous, and the dining atmosphere is casual. However, based on one customer's experience, initial service upon arrival and attentiveness in providing menus could be areas for improvement, although subsequent service from individual staff members like June can be exceptional. There is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Potential customers can expect delicious Chinese cuisine, with the lobster dishes being a highlight, in a relaxed setting. For those in the Artesia area looking for a satisfying Chinese meal, Happy Bee Kitchen is worth considering, keeping in mind that service experiences might vary.

EXCELLENT!! Time for our lobster feast on Thanksgiving Day. Ordered House Special Lobster, combination fried rice, and egg drop soup. Everything was amazingly delicious flavored. Love the lobster gravy and everything in it. So yummy, i wanna eat the shell too lol. Services were awesome. Casual dining with delicious food! Top it off, our server packed our food for us to go; i was about to do it myself but she did it so that was a surprise. I'm a happy bee!!
It's our first visit and it happened to be a lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't too crowded but it seemed like the staff were all preoccupied. We stood for several minutes and waited for someone to usher us to a table. We almost walked out after several minutes of waiting, until someone cleaned the nearby table and with an apologetic look, led us to our table. They served roasted peanuts as appetizer. No one came around to give us a menu so I went to the counter and asked for a menu myself. I scanned the room and no one seems to think to service our table until I locked eyes with the person who seated us She finally walked towards our table and took our order. We ordered all classic Chinese dishes: wonton noodles soup, honey walnut shrimp, clam with black bean sauce, and chow fun with beef. They redeem themselves with their food. The servings were generous, all food tasted great. My favorite, hands down would be the soup and honey walnut shrimp. June took care of us from beginning to end. She checked in on us frequently. She was polite, respectful, and courteous. We will come back again for sure to try out other dishes.
Phenomenal Food! They treat you like family. Had Broccoli Beef, Dry Chow Fun, Salt and Pepper shrimp. I don't have to drive to Alhambra or Arcadia for authentic food anymore :)
This is our 2nd time here, and the service is superior and beyond! The foods were so delicious on every dish, and we all enjoyed them. We will always come back when we are in this area.
The portion is good here consider its price. However, we ordered online ~30 minutes prior, and when we arrived, we are informed that the food has not been prepared since they did not refresh the system... I went to Boba shop nearby to kill extra time for waiting. As for food quality, the vegetable medley did not added salt (probably due to rush?), the seafood tofu is good.
