About Happi Wok

Happi Wok is a Chinese restaurant located at 13606 University Plaza St in Tampa, Florida. For local residents in the area, Happi Wok stands out for its consistent operating hours, being noted as one of the few Chinese takeout restaurants in the vicinity that remains open on Sundays. This full-week availability has made it a reliable option for those craving Chinese cuisine any day of the week.

The food at Happi Wok is described by customers as "typical Chinese take-out" and generally considered "good." However, one particular dish, the Singapore Mai Fun, is highlighted as being uniquely spicier than versions found at other establishments. This dish is highly recommended for those who enjoy spicy food, with a clear warning for those who are sensitive to heat. This signature spicy Singapore Mai Fun can be considered a unique feature of Happi Wok.

Regarding the restaurant environment, a customer describes it as a "small predominantly take out Chinese restaurant" with the presence of "a few tables," indicating that while dine-in service is available, the primary focus appears to be on takeout orders. This suggests a casual and convenient setting for quick meals.

In terms of specific dishes beyond the Singapore Mai Fun, customer reviews offer mixed feedback. The fried shrimp was noted as being "very good." On the other hand, the house fried rice was described as "lacking in flavor" and containing only "a few very small shrimp." The hot and sour soup, however, received positive comments for its "great flavor." This suggests that while some dishes are well-received, the quality may vary across the menu.

In summary, Happi Wok is a Chinese restaurant in Tampa primarily focused on takeout, offering consistent service throughout the week, including Sundays. While the food is generally rated as good, the standout dish appears to be the significantly spicier Singapore Mai Fun. Customers have also noted the good quality of the fried shrimp and the flavorful hot and sour soup, while the house fried rice received less favorable feedback. Local users looking for a reliable Chinese takeout option with some unique spicy offerings should consider Happi Wok.

I'm new to the area, and for some reason, all the other Chinese restaurants in this area seem to be closed on Sunday except for this one. So, since this was the only takeout restaurant available when I first moved in, and I was craving Chinese at the time, they now have me as a repeat customer. If you want a restaurant with full week availability, this is the one. The food is typical Chinese take-out. It's good. One unique thing though that I will say is their Singapore Mai Fun here is a lot spicier than anywhere else I've ever gotten it. Personally, I love it, but if you can't handle spicy foods, you were forewarned, theirs is very spicy. If you do like spicy, I highly recommend it! Overall, I definitely recommend this place.

A small predominantly take out Chinese restaurant. With a few tables. Fried shrimp was very good. House fried rice was lacking in flavor and only had a few very small shrimp. Hot and sour soup had great flavor.

Where's the sauce?!!! I picked up an order of Shrimp Egg Foo Yung, and while the "omelet/pancakes" were a good size, we counted only 3 tiny shrimp in each, and hardly any veggies. The sauce/gravy container they provided was small, and only filled to the halfway point. We also ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan, and there was next to NO GRAVY/SAUCE AT ALL.... About a tablespoon-full puddled at the bottom of the container. Anyone who knows.... knows the gravy's a must have!!

Food was fresh and hot. We watched them cook and prepare. Lady let us know we could add certain things to make it what we wanted it to be. First time being around here and wouldn't mind visiting again when I'm in the area.
