Hao Pi dim sum express Intro

Welcome to Hao Pi dim sum express. While our physical location is 61-42 Springfield Blvd, Oakland Gardens, NY 11364, USA, we are providing information for local users in Singapore interested in Chinese cuisine, particularly dim sum.

Hao Pi dim sum express operates as a Chinese Restaurant specializing in dim sum. Based on recent customer reviews, the food quality appears to have changed over time. One long-time customer noted a decline in flavor, particularly in their congee, and a change in noodle type for the breakfast special without prior notification. They also reported inconsistencies in the Roast Pig, which could be overly salty or have tough skin, and a decrease in the quality of the Char Siu, with some pieces being mostly fat.

However, another customer had a positive experience with the Shrimp Dumplings, describing them as 'so so so delicious.' The Shumai was considered 'ok,' but not exceptional. It was also noted that the restaurant did not have bean curd available during that visit. Other items ordered included fried chicken, spring roll, and turnip cake. The Lychee drink was described as very sweet and lacking fruit. Prices were mentioned as being 'a bit pricey,' with each dim sum item costing more than $5.

The service at Hao Pi dim sum express seems to be inconsistent. One reviewer highlighted a significant difference between staff members, noting that a young male server required prompting for service, while a lady with longer hair was praised for being attentive and proactive. The overall sentiment from one long-term customer is that the restaurant has declined from a regular 'go-to' place to a less preferred option.

Regarding payment, Hao Pi dim sum express previously accepted credit cards but, as of a 2024 update, no longer accepts credit cards for breakfast and requires cash payment during breakfast hours. It is advisable to inquire about current payment methods for all times. There is no information available regarding the restaurant's environment or any specific promotional offers for local users in Singapore. Potential customers should consider the mixed reviews regarding food quality and service when deciding to visit or order from Hao Pi dim sum express.

I used to go here every week, however ever since the taste of food changed... Stopped. Their congee no longer have flavor (no matter which one you get, the base is flavorless). For their breakfast special, they changed the noodle type from egg noodle to rice noodle without telling people at the beginning. (New menu has the rice noodle.) Their roast pig is either pucker salty or the supposed crispy skin is tough! Char Siu used to be great, look at the pics and you will understand. I got pieces where it is only fat! I end up getting 3x more on fat then meat when I cut it up due to inability to eat it straight up! The service is a hit and miss. If you get the young man, don't expect any thing unless you wave him down and spell it out! The lady (longer hair) is by far the best. She anticipate your needs and check on you to make sure everything is OK. Overall, this place changed from a go-to to only go if must!

We ordered shrimp dumpling so so so delicious. Shumai was ok, not 10/10. They did not had the bean curd. My brother got fried chicken, spring roll and turnip cake. We also got lychee drink which was so sweet and not fruit inside. Price was a bit pricey. Each dimsum was more than 5 bucks. They take credit card as payment. UPDATE 2024 - THEY NO LONGER TAKE CREDIT CARD FOR BREAKFAST. BRING CASH.

Has been on my 'To try' list for a while and today finally drove nearby to try it. Inside it's clean and the atmosphere is nice and comfortable , not fancy. I ordered my usual test plates: Beef Chow Fun and salt and pepper pork chop. Both came out right and it's not salty (healthy). The pork chops were crispy and tasted as it should. I am sure I will come back to try out their other dishes later.

Brightly lit and well spaced tables make this HK / Cantonese dining establishment easy on the eyes and comfortable. There are booths and standard tables to adjust for larger groups. I liked the lion head decor throughout. Menu is very lengthy, full of variety of proteins and options are very vegetarian friendly. This visit was my first dine in but I've ordered take out plenty of times before. I recommend the Roasted BBQ meats, congee and clay pot rice dishes. Family style entrees like salt and pepper squid, soup dumplings and dim sum are also offered, just note the window of time, as some are not offered all day. They share a parking lot with the rest of the businesses on Springfield on the block. Very attentive service and excellent jasmine tea.

Decided to try this new place that just opened up not to long ago. Ordered several bbq items for takeout as well as twin lobsters cooked in ginger and scallion sauce. They said it would take 20 minutes and the restaurant was packed on a busy weekday around lunch time. I waited 50 minutes because of the lobster which was pricey, but they did a good job of keeping it warm during the trip home. Busy is good for a new establishment, but they need to do a better job with predicting the wait time or customers go elsewhere.
