About Han Song Ting

Welcome to Han Song Ting, a cherished Chinese restaurant located at 37-02 Main St, Flushing, NY 11354, USA. With a history spanning over a decade, Han Song Ting has become a familiar and comforting culinary destination for many in the local community. You can reach us at (347) 732-9112 or via mobile at +1 347-732-9112 to experience our consistently good food and warm service.

Based on heartfelt reviews from our loyal customers, Han Song Ting holds a special place in the hearts of those who have grown up with its flavors. One long-time patron shared, "this is a long overdue review since this place has been around ever since I was little, about 12 years ago. I practically grew up with this place and so my review is going to be a bit biased since it holds a special place in my heart." This personal connection speaks to the enduring quality and consistent appeal of Han Song Ting over the years.

The same reviewer, who visits every few months, consistently orders our specialty: "beef ma la tang(spicy hotpot / soup): 10/10." This dish is clearly the star of our menu, described as a comforting and exceptional offering. The ma la tang features an assortment of vegetables and other ingredients, which can be customized according to preference. Crucially, it is served with a side of spicy sauce, which the reviewer believes is "really the core of the dish" and "really brings it together!!" This detailed description highlights the customizable nature and the key flavor components of our signature dish.

Beyond the ma la tang, we also offer other dishes that have garnered positive feedback. Our "cold noodles: 9/10" were described as "yummy" by the same reviewer, who, while not an expert on the dish, still found them enjoyable. We also serve "kimbap: 8/10," a Korean seaweed rice roll. While the reviewer admitted to not being a big fan of kimbap in general, they still found ours worth trying, although suggesting that a dedicated Korean restaurant might offer a more authentic experience. This honest assessment indicates that while we offer a variety of dishes, our ma la tang is the undisputed highlight.

The reviewer also praised the affordability of our menu, stating, "the pricing is sooooo affordable (in this economy, it’s a shocker). but the ma la tang is really the star of the menu." This emphasis on value makes Han Song Ting an attractive option for those looking for delicious food without breaking the bank.

In terms of service, the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. The reviewer noted, "the employees are always so sweet and these ladies have been around ever since the start!!" This longevity of our staff speaks to a stable and dedicated team, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. While the reviewer primarily communicated in Chinese, they expressed confidence that the experience would be worthwhile even for those who do not speak the language. However, this remains an area where individual experiences might vary.

The atmosphere of Han Song Ting is described as a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Flushing. The reviewer mentioned, "this place is tucked away from the busy streets of flushing and it’s really quite clean and quiet! it’s always air conditioned / heated and you’ll almost always find a table to sit at since not many people go to this place." This suggests a serene and comfortable dining environment, ideal for those seeking a more relaxed meal. The location, "at the core of a shopping mall-esque place," might make it slightly challenging to find for first-time visitors, but the directions provided – "enter the mall, walk straight past the stairs and when you see a bunch of circular brown tables, that’s the place" – should help navigate to our hidden gem.

Regarding pricing, at the time of the review in August 2024, the beef ma la tang was priced at a flat $12, potentially including tax, especially for cash payments. Interestingly, Han Song Ting "strictly don’t accept tips," which is an unusual practice in the US restaurant industry and contributes to the affordability of dining here.

Another customer shared their experience with different dishes, mentioning having "dumplings and Korean seaweed roll (sushi?). Dumplings were a huge portion, but the skin was too thick. Seaweed roll was slightly oily, otherwise tasted great." This feedback provides a more nuanced view of some of our other offerings. While the portion size of the dumplings was generous, the texture of the skin might not appeal to all. The Korean seaweed roll, despite being slightly oily, was appreciated for its taste. This suggests that while our ma la tang is a standout, other dishes may have varying levels of appeal.

One reviewer described the service as "Not much service as it is a food court style. But they did serve food fast." This contradicts the earlier review that praised the employees' sweetness. This discrepancy might be due to different experiences or perhaps reflecting a more casual, food court-like interaction for some customers, especially during busy times. However, the fast service is a consistent positive point.

The same reviewer noted the excellent value, stating, "Meal costed only $11 which is great value." This reinforces the affordability aspect highlighted by the other customer.

As a Chinese restaurant with Korean influences evident in dishes like kimbap, Han Song Ting offers a unique blend of culinary traditions. Our specialty, the beef ma la tang, is a testament to our flavorful and comforting Chinese cuisine. The inclusion of Korean dishes suggests a broader appeal and a willingness to cater to diverse tastes. However, the reviews indicate that the ma la tang is the must-try item that keeps customers coming back.

The environment of being "tucked away" in a shopping area provides a quieter alternative to the bustling streets of Flushing, making it a convenient and peaceful spot for a meal. The consistent temperature control (air conditioning in summer, heating in winter) ensures a comfortable dining experience year-round.

In terms of services, Han Song Ting primarily seems to focus on dine-in, with potentially quick service, especially during busier times where it might resemble a food court style interaction. While takeout is likely available, delivery options are not mentioned in the reviews. The unique policy of not accepting tips contributes to the overall affordability.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. However, given the affordable pricing and consistent quality, Han Song Ting offers inherent value. Local users might want to visit to experience the highly recommended beef ma la tang and explore other dishes on the menu, keeping in mind the varying feedback on items other than the specialty.

In conclusion, Han Song Ting is a long-standing Chinese restaurant in Flushing, NY, renowned for its exceptional and comforting beef ma la tang (spicy hotpot). With consistently good food, sweet service (though potentially more food court-like at times), and incredibly affordable prices, it offers a unique dining experience in a clean and quiet environment. While other dishes like cold noodles, kimbap, and dumplings are available, the ma la tang is the undisputed star of the menu and a must-try for local users seeking a flavorful and budget-friendly meal. We invite you to discover the comforting flavors of Han Song Ting and experience our highly recommended specialty!

this is a long overdue review since this place has been around ever since I was little, about 12 years ago. I practically grew up with this place and so my review is going to be a bit biased since it holds a special place in my heart. I come here once every few months and the food here is consistently good, although I almost always get the same dish because it’s more of a comfort food for me. service: the employees are always so sweet and these ladies have been around ever since the start!! I’ve never ordered in english, though, so I’m not sure how your experience would be if you don’t know how to speak chinese, but trust me it’s worth it!! food: beef ma la tang(spicy hotpot / soup): 10/10 this is their specialty!! it’s what I always get :) it comes with an assortment of veggies and other… things (?) by default but you can always ask for less/more/none of the add-ons. and then, you’ll be provided with a side of the spicy sauce and this is really the core of the dish in my opinion. it really brings it together!! cold noodles: 9/10 I’ve only had cold noodles from two other restaurants so I’m not the best judge of this but it was yummy! kimbap: 8/10 not a big fan of kimbap in general but my friend got it so I wanted to try out of all three dishes, I can only vouch for the first dish because I always get it without fail. I only tried the other two because my friend got it and to be quite honest I think you could go to an authentic korean place for a better experience. don’t get me wrong, they’re still very good and the pricing is sooooo affordable (in this economy, it’s a shocker). but the ma la tang is really the star of the menu. atmosphere: this place is tucked away from the busy streets of flushing and it’s really quite clean and quiet! it’s always air conditioned / heated and you’ll almost always find a table to sit at since not many people go to this place. it could be quite hard to find it for the first time, though, since it’s at the core of a shopping mall-esque place. Id say just enter the mall, walk straight past the stairs and when you see a bunch of circular brown tables, that’s the place. price: at the time of review (august ‘24), the beef ma la tang is $12 flat (aka no tax, but maybe it’s because I always pay with cash?) and they strictly don’t accept tips which is interesting,, overall, would 100% recommend! luv it here I really wish I came here more.

Food - 4 stars Service - 4 stars Price - 5 stars Had dumplings and Korean seaweed roll (sushi?). Dumplings were a huge portion, but the skin was too thick. Seaweed roll was slightly oily, otherwise tasted great. Not much service as it is a food court style. But they did serve food fast. Meal costed only $11 which is great value.

Their Malatang and Soondubu (seafood tofu stew) are good and it came with a kimchi type side dish which I liked. Kimbap is mediocre because it has too much rice. If you order over the phone, you will need to know Chinese!

Honestly my favorite spot for Malatang. They have their homemade sauce to go with the Malatang which is an amazing addition too. It might look a bit sketch as it’s literally inside Main Plaza 时代商场 and out in the open with tables. It surprisingly is pretty enjoyable (for me) to just sit there and enjoy my meal.
