About Han Palace Georgetown
Han Palace Georgetown, situated at 1728 Wisconsin Ave NW in Washington, D.C., offers a Chinese restaurant experience to local diners. The establishment is described by one reviewer as a "very small place with big personality," suggesting a cozy and intimate dining environment.
A notable feature mentioned in the reviews is the "unlimited tasting menu," priced at $48 per person with an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of two. One customer who opted for this menu initially enjoyed the Chinese broccoli, describing it as "fantastic." However, subsequent small plates were deemed "OKAY." Despite this, they continued to order different dishes and were having a pleasant time until they were informed at 8:45 pm that the kitchen would be closing at 9:15 pm, earlier than the officially stated closing time of 10 pm.
Following this, the customer ordered Peking duck, pickled radish, and lo mein. The pickled radish was not to their liking, and the lo mein was described as dry and flavorless. They chose not to complain and instead asked for the table to be cleared for the duck. Their dining companion ordered more Chinese broccoli and snow pea leaves. However, before the duck arrived, the waitress presented the bill. When the customer inquired about the missing Peking duck, they were told that it would not be served because they "didn’t like our food and you didn’t finish everything."
Despite spending $158, including the automatic gratuity, the customer expressed extreme disappointment with the service they received at the end of their meal, stating that they would not recommend eating at Han Palace Georgetown due to this negative experience. Another reviewer who did not try the all-you-can-eat option mentioned that the food was "great."

Great food here tucked away! Very small place with big personality. Didn’t try the all-you-can-eat option since I was pressed on time but would have liked to.
We opted for the unlimited tasting menu $48 pp + 20% automatic gratuity for 2x. Things were going very well as the chinese broccoli was fantastic! Then next couple of small plates were OKAY, but we ate with an open mind. We ordered a next round of different dishes and again things were OKAY, but we were having a nice time. At 8:45 pm, we were told the kitchen was closing at 9:15 even though OFFICIAL closing was 10 pm. So…we ordered the peking duck and pickled radish and lo mein. The radish came and it was not good (I’ve had plenty of Korean pickled radish and love it) and lo mein was dry and flavorless. We didn’t complain, we just had the wait staff clear the table to make room for the duck. My dining date ordered more Chinese broccoli and Snow pea leaves to replace the dishes we didn’t bother to eat. We got those before the duck and was conservative eating to save room for the duck. THEN our main waitress came with the bill. We said we didn’t get the duck yet. She said, “You don’t like our food and you didn’t finish everything. So no duck is coming.” WOW. They got $158 out of me including a $26 tip I had no say in. We ENJOYED ourselves til the ATTITUDE happened. So even though there would’ve been repeat visits for the novelty of it, we now will NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE EVER. We were treated so poorly for no reason!
I recently visited Han Palace, a charming Chinese eatery Chinese food with dim sum, and I was not thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a classic touch of Chinese decor that added to the authenticity of the experience. The dim sum menu was very limited, featuring har gow (shrimp dumplings) to siu mai, crispy spring rolls and soup dumpling. Each dish was freshly prepared, and the flavors were not wow. However, the char siu bao (BBQ pork buns) were soft, fluffy, and filled with rich, savory pork. The service was attentive as well. The staff were attentive and quick to recommend popular dishes. The dim sum arrived promptly. Many other dishes were ordered and they were just nothing extraordinary.
Hidden Gem Alert! We're perplexed why this restaurant remains underrated! Delicious food and exceptional service have solidified its spot as our favorite. Upon arrival, the friendly male waiter/manager warmly greeted us, offering seat options. We were thrilled to be seated in a lovely spot, setting the tone for outstanding service from him and Li. Li deserves special accolades! Her attentive, warm nature made us feel welcome. When she found out it was my husband's birthday, she surprised us with a thoughtful gesture: she surprised us with a thoughtful gesture - turning on birthday music, presenting a candle, and leading the staff in a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday"! A sweet touch: her young daughter (we assume!) enthusiastically chimed in with an adorable "Happy Birthday" wish! Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, boasting expertly balanced flavors, generous portions, and beautiful presentations. We savored every bite of our delicious dumplings, crab meat soup, pineapple shrimp fried rice, stuffed crab claws, and desserts. The restaurant shines with: - Immaculate cleanliness - Tasteful decor - Cozy ambiance With a 20% gratuity already added, we still chose to tip extra – a testament to the staff's hard work and dedication. Ignore negative reviews and give this hidden gem a try! You won't regret it! Rating: 5/5 stars
