About Han Dynasty

Han Dynasty is a Chinese restaurant located at 90 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10003. You can contact them at (212) 390-8685 or +1 212-390-8685 for inquiries or orders. This location is situated in the East Village, and the restaurant also has another location on the Upper West Side (UWS).

Based on customer reviews, a standout dish at Han Dynasty is the wontons in chili oil, which is described as the best dish on their menu and particularly enjoyable. The Dan Dan noodles are also well-regarded, although one reviewer noted they needed more spice and added chili oil to enhance the flavor. Another customer found the Dan Dan noodles to be incredibly dry and was slightly disappointed by the mild spice level despite requesting them extra spicy, while acknowledging the amazing portion size.

The crab rangoons were mentioned by one reviewer but were found to be too sweet for their preference.

Despite mixed feedback on the Dan Dan noodles' texture and spice level, customers seem inclined to return to Han Dynasty to try other options on their menu. One reviewer specifically praised the atmosphere and the staff.

If you're in the East Village and looking for a Chinese restaurant, Han Dynasty offers some popular dishes like the wontons in chili oil and Dan Dan noodles, with a noted pleasant atmosphere and staff. However, individual preferences for spice and texture in certain dishes may vary.

Have visited this particular location twice now and have also gone to their UWS location. I particularly enjoyed the wontons in chili oil. The best dish on their menu. The Dan Dan noodles were also great but needed spice so we added chili oil to them. The crab rangoons were unfortunately too sweet for me. I’ll definitely go back and try other options next time!

Although the portion is amazing, these dan dan noodles were incredibly dry! I requested them extra spicy, but was slightly disappointed by how mild they were. I loved the atmosphere and the staff, but I will probably try something else next time.

We ordered take out from Han Dynasty and we were very pleased with the food. The taste is authentic sichuan and depending on your spice tolerance can go from mild to very spicy. We ordered everything with a “medium” spice and it was very good. The dumpling in chilli oil along with the Sichuan chicken with hot peppers were my personal favorite.

I usually love this place and dine in person as well as take out. The dry chicken was excellent but the beef noodle soup was actually inedible. They poured so much oil in it that no one could actually eat it unless they were insane. Not sure if it was a bad day or the food quality declined, but don’t get the beef noodle soup. I will not be ordering from here again.

Awesome Chinese restaurant, I am from the SF Bay Area and my bar for Chinese food is very very high. The service was decent and is covid safe. We were at first seated in an inconvenient spot but when a better spot opened up they moved us, nice of them. For appetizers we got the scallion pancakes and crispy cucumbers - I personally didn’t care for the cucumbers but my fellow diners loved it. The pancakes were excellent, the base was fluffy, leavened and went down easily. They provided hot sauce and crushed peppers if you want to juice it up, which we did. For entrees I got the garlic sauce chicken, vegetable fried rice (I asked for without egg). The others got Dan Dan noodles and hot and sour shrimp. My chicken was great loved the sauce and the vegetables. The other diners loved the noodles and shrimp. The fried rice was particularly very good - some secret sauce for sure 😀. We pretty much wiped the dishes clean. Highly recommend.
