About Hakka Restaurant

Hakka Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Hakka cuisine, conveniently located within Woodside Square at 1571 Sandhurst Cir, Toronto, ON M1V 1V2, Canada. They can be contacted at (416) 291-1604 or +1 416-291-1604.

Customers consistently recommend Hakka Restaurant for its tasty food, very reasonable prices, and amazing portion sizes, especially for its location within Woodside Square. The counter service is also frequently highlighted as very nice, with one reviewer sharing a positive experience of receiving a complimentary rice bowl.

While some negative reviews mention potential wait times, positive feedback suggests that these waits are usually short, typically around 5 to 10 minutes, which is considered reasonable for freshly cooked food. Many patrons prefer this over food that has been sitting for an extended period.

Popular single items include the Manchurian Chicken and the Spicy Fish, both of which are favorites and come in such generous portions that one order often provides enough for two meals. For those who prefer a non-gravy version, the Chili Chicken Dry is a frequently ordered dish. While the noodles are not highly recommended, the fried rice is described as delicious when freshly made and eaten promptly, though it may not hold up as well for takeout.

Other well-received dishes include the salt and pepper squid and shrimp. Considering its location in a busy mall where many dishes are priced at $15 or more, Hakka Restaurant stands out as a great option for decent Hakka cuisine at under $10. Notably, they also offer lunch options for $5, providing even greater value.

For takeout orders, customers recommend focusing on the protein dishes, which are considered quite good, and potentially avoiding the rice or noodles. Overall, Hakka Restaurant is highly recommended for its delicious and affordable Hakka food within Woodside Square, with generous portions and friendly service being key features.

I've tried a lot of different items at Hakka and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in woodside square! The food is really good and the prices are very reasonable and the portions are amazing. The lady at the counter is also very nice, one time she even added the $2 rice bowl to my order at no extra charge which was very sweet! Some of the bad reviews complain about the wait time and sure while you have to wait a bit, it's usually like 5 to 10 minutes at most which is like a completely reasonable wait time. And I'd rather wait and have food that's freshly cooked over food that's been sitting for hours. I love getting the single items like the Manchurian chicken or the spicy fish (which are my favorite) and separately getting the rice. I can never finish more than half of the single item orders in one sitting and end up having an extra meal left over!

A really good find in a busy mall full of dinosaurs! The food here is fantastic!.. for the price. We always get their Chili Chicken Dry as we prefer the non-gravy version. The noodles aren’t very good. The fried rice is delicious when fresh and you eat it within 5 min. Not so good as takeout. Salt and pepper squid and shrimp was also good. All in all, in a mall where most dishes costs around $15+… this is a great option for decent Hakka for under $10. They also have lunch options for $5. 😎. If buying takeout… stick with the protein dishes as they are quite good and avoid the rice or noodles. Would recommend. Would return.

This a nice little spot in a food court! The food is great, the portions are huge and reasonably priced. Service is good. One day I ordered the Shanghai noodle which comes with chicken. I felt like pork and asked them to make a swap. Expecting to usual response of NO or its extra...I got SURE!

A Food court setting. The chilli chicken with gravy was tasty (from heavy seasoning) making you feel thirsty a few hours later. The Shrimp fried rice was not tasty enough and definitely not fresh cooked as it was cold. Also, the rice is not cooked enough and still hard. I think the rice-cooking process needs more water. The food is not cooked fresh as ordered but like it’s been scooped off a buffet-style container. Good grief! The fried rice is still as terrible that I try again after a month. The chef simply doesn’t know how to cook rice!!
