About Hacienda Vallarta Mexican Buffet & Bakery

While categorized as a 'Chinese Restaurant' on some platforms, Hacienda Vallarta Mexican Buffet & Bakery, located at 7200 Bandera Rd in San Antonio, TX, offers a diverse all-you-can-eat experience featuring a wide selection of Mexican cuisine. This buffet-style restaurant also includes a bakery section.

According to customer reviews, Hacienda Vallarta boasts an "awesome selection of food." One reviewer noted that even when visiting after the typical lunchtime rush, the food was still fresh, suggesting a commitment to maintaining food quality throughout the day.

However, some visitors, particularly those unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine, might find it challenging to navigate the buffet due to the lack of descriptions for the dishes, specifically regarding the types of meat used. One reviewer mentioned this confusion and the reliance on a waitress for assistance. While the service received was described as helpful and "too friendly" by one guest, who felt checked on excessively, this highlights the staff's attentiveness.

In terms of the environment, one customer found the cleanliness to be average compared to other establishments they had visited. This is a point potential diners may want to consider. The food quality was also described as average by one reviewer, suggesting a decent but perhaps not exceptional culinary experience. Desserts were a point of criticism, with one guest recommending skipping them entirely, including the ice cream.

The price point, as mentioned by one reviewer, was approximately $22 per person for food and drinks before the tip. This provides a general idea of the cost for dining at Hacienda Vallarta. No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews.

In summary, Hacienda Vallarta Mexican Buffet & Bakery offers a wide variety of Mexican dishes in a buffet setting. While the selection is appreciated and the food can be fresh, especially outside peak hours, some customers have noted challenges with dish identification, average food quality, and cleanliness. It may be a suitable option for those familiar with Mexican cuisine and looking for a buffet-style meal.

We were extremely confused as we were not familiar with the name of mexican dishes. Some of us had some food restriction. We couldn’t choose properly which food to pick as there were no description which meat the dishes were made of. Though we asked a waitress to help us with the dishesh and she was helpful. Too friendly I would say as she asked us five times if the food was okay or not. I would say I have found other places more neat and clean than them. So if you're not a local here, you might have a hard time. Food quality is average i woukd say. You can skip the desserts, not a single one was good, not even the icecream. With drinks, the bill was $22 per person without tip. Didn’t really bother to take pictures.

Big turn off was that the man that was by us had a dog hidden in a blanket and he was feeding him right there on the table. When he got up to get more food someone asked him "is he a service dog", and he said "nope he isn't". Management had no clue that the dog was in there. Food & service were great.

The food was good but kinda scary. The menudo was amazing I would have eaten gallons of it if I wasn't afraid of getting sick. The cleanliness of the restaurant was very lacking which scared me from eating more.
