Do you want Asian food, but want something different from typical corner-Chinese food or sushi? Green Papaya won't let you down! Visit for Asian fusion (primarily Thai and Malaysian) and a refreshing fruit smoothie or milk tea. We ordered Homemade Crispy Tofu to start, Malaysian Curry (mild curry with your choice of protein, veggies and coconut milk), and Pad Thai. Everything was delicious and recommendable. The service was quick and friendly. The dining area is comfortable and with homey decor. Some might think that the tables are a bit too close. However, personally, I felt ok. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. Don't hesitate to come by Green Papaya for a change of pace!
Authentic Thai food (I’ve been to Thailand). The flavor in their dishes are outstanding and I love that they have a lunch special. Even without the lunch special, they are reasonably priced and they have great portions. I especially enjoy the Chiang Mai and basil dishes. They also give you hot tea complimentary. Green Papaya is a BYOB Restaurant.
Came in for dinner on a rainy Friday just before 6, and it wasn't too crowded - but it seemed like a lot of people were coming in to pick up some takeout. I had the Pad Thai with beef and hubby had the Massaman curry with beef. Pad Thais are usually a hit or miss but this one was a hit! The flavor was perfectly balanced - not too sweet, salty, or sour. Plus, the portions are HUGE! We both ate a good amount of it and had leftovers for a small meal the next day. The Massaman curry on the other hand was a miss, unfortunately. I don't know if it traditionally has peanuts in it, but it was a little weird. It was also more like a broth, then it was a curry. It was very soupy. I don't know about the curries here but it seems like they do noodles pretty well, so I definitely will be back for some more of that!
We got the green curry, pineapple rice, drunken noodles and couple other small things. They were all ok nothing special. The rice tasted like it had a ketchup flavor maybe? Couldn't put my finger on it. Big portions which was nice.
Food is very fresh, lots of delicious veggies. My boyfriend is vegan and there are lots of vegan options on the menu -- this is one of our favorite restaurants. We usually eat one entree each while we are there and take one entree to go for the next day we like it so much! This restaurant is known for their crispy tofu. I think they have the best pad Thai and Tom yum soup. And different curries. It is BYOB. Service is excellent.
