About Great Wall Restaurant
Located at 1049 N Fraser St in Georgetown, SC, Great Wall Restaurant operates as a Chinese restaurant serving the local community and travelers passing through. As a Chinese restaurant, it offers a menu of typical Chinese cuisine, primarily for takeout, although dine-in options may also be available. However, the recent customer feedback available online raises significant concerns regarding food safety and service quality at this establishment.
Information regarding the environment of Great Wall Restaurant is extremely limited and overshadowed by the serious nature of the customer complaints. Neither of the available reviews provides any details about the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, or decor. Therefore, an objective description of the environment cannot be constructed based on this information. The focus of the feedback is entirely on the negative experiences with the food and service.
The primary service mentioned in the reviews is takeout, as both customers appear to have purchased food to consume elsewhere. The availability of phone numbers, (843) 520-0888 and +1 843-520-0888, indicates that customers can place orders for pickup. One customer's attempt to resolve an issue over the phone suggests that customer service is also a component of their service offerings, albeit one that was reportedly unsatisfactory in their experience. There is no mention of delivery services in the provided reviews.
The limited customer feedback available paints a dire picture of the food quality and hygiene at Great Wall Restaurant. One particularly disturbing review recounts a customer's experience of purchasing Chinese food, including rice, and discovering a "booger with hair sticking out of it" within the rice. The customer reported contacting the restaurant to explain this finding and was allegedly told by a female staff member to drive back for a replacement. Understandably, the customer was unwilling to accept another meal from the same establishment and requested to speak to the manager, which was reportedly refused. This incident raises severe concerns about food handling and hygiene practices at Great Wall Restaurant. The customer's intention to contact the health department and legal counsel further underscores the gravity of the situation.
The second review, while not involving contamination, also describes a negative food experience. This customer ordered an egg roll that they described as tasting "like mop water," being "soggy," and "half cooked." They also reported rude service from a female staff member who allegedly made negative remarks about their order and laughed as if it were amusing to serve such poor quality food. This review highlights issues with food preparation and a lack of professionalism in customer service.
Given the extremely negative nature of the recent reviews, it is impossible to identify any positive features of Great Wall Restaurant based on this information. The serious allegations of food contamination and the report of severely substandard food quality and rude service are overwhelming. Any potential positive aspects that might have existed are completely overshadowed by these critical failures in food safety and customer care. The lack of any positive feedback in the provided reviews suggests significant issues that need to be addressed.
Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or special deals at Great Wall Restaurant. In light of the severe concerns raised by the customer reviews, any promotions would likely be irrelevant to potential local users who would understandably be hesitant to patronize an establishment with such reported issues. The immediate priority for the restaurant should be to address the serious allegations regarding food safety and service quality.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Great Wall Restaurant in Georgetown, SC, present deeply concerning accounts of food contamination, severely poor food quality (soggy, half-cooked egg roll tasting like mop water), and rude customer service. The allegation of finding a booger with hair in the rice is particularly alarming and raises significant health and safety concerns. Potential local users are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and consider these experiences before deciding to order from or visit Great Wall Restaurant. The reported issues appear to be critical and require immediate attention from the restaurant management and potentially health authorities.

I was traveling from myrtle beach when I decided to purchase Chinese food for my family at "the great wall chinese resturant". When I arrived home, I opened the rice box, took a spoonful of rice out and sitting there was a booger with hair sticking out of it. (See photos below). I called to explain my finding and the female told me to drive back for a replacement. Of course, I did not want another meal from them. I asked for the manager and she refused to allow me to speak to anyone. I will attempt to call again today. I want a refund. Food is not eatable. If I get same results,I will contact the health department and my attorney. They can do a dna analysis. This is a gross situation. I will provide updates.
Enroll taste like mop water. It was soggy and half cooked. Lady was rude and talked trash because I only ordered an egg roll. Now I understand why she knew it was terrible. As they laughed as if it was funny to serve that mess.
There were dead flies in my wonton soup. When I called the lady was very rude and wanted to exchange it for more soup instead of refunding me. My manager called and had to yell to get her to refund my money. I had to take all the food back and she yelled at me again when I got there (in-front of other customers…) and tore everything out of the bag. She yelled at me again because one of my two spring rolls were gone. I had eaten it before I found the flies in my soup. I saved them for her to see but when she was ripping things apart and flinging them around she lost them somewhere. Then I was told never to go back. Which wasn’t going to happen anyway but regardless… if I could give negative stars I would.
Best hot and sour soup ever. Perfectly balanced.
Liked the combo meals priced high for smaller portions. Mostly dry fried rice, but large shrimp and tender roast pork. Regular egg rolls sucked but the shrimp egg rolls appear to be fresh made and good.
