About Great Wall Restaurant

Welcome to Great Wall Restaurant, a Chinese dining establishment situated at 15048 Farnsworth St in San Leandro, California. Catering to the local community, Great Wall Restaurant offers a range of Chinese dishes in a setting that appears to prioritize customer comfort and satisfaction. Based on recent customer reviews, the restaurant is characterized by its accommodating service, good food, and reasonable pricing, making it a potential choice for individuals and families alike.

One notable aspect highlighted in the reviews is the restaurant's service. One customer shared a positive experience where the staff went out of their way to provide a more sturdy metal chair to accommodate them, indicating a willingness to attend to individual needs and ensure a comfortable dining experience for all patrons. This level of thoughtful service suggests a customer-centric approach at Great Wall Restaurant.

The quality of the food has also been generally well-received. One reviewer specifically mentioned enjoying the chicken egg foo yung and the beef fried rice, describing them as "good" and reasonably priced. This suggests that Great Wall Restaurant offers standard Chinese-American fare that is satisfying and provides value for money. Another customer simply stated that the "food was great," reinforcing the positive sentiment regarding the taste and quality of the dishes served.

Great Wall Restaurant appears to be a suitable venue for family gatherings, as mentioned by one reviewer who dined there in such a context. This implies that the restaurant can accommodate larger groups and provides an atmosphere conducive to family meals. The fact that the group ordered a substantial amount of food – seven plates and two rice for seven people – and found the total cost to be "little over $100 including rips" (likely a typo for tips) suggests that the pricing is indeed quite reasonable for the quantity of food received. This affordability makes it an attractive option for families and groups looking for a budget-friendly dining experience.

While the overall feedback is positive, one reviewer did mention that the fried chicken was "little dry and less seasoning." This indicates a potential inconsistency in the preparation of certain dishes, suggesting that some items might not always meet the same high standards as others. However, the same reviewer also noted that "other foods were great taste and good volume," implying that the majority of the dishes ordered were satisfactory in both flavor and portion size. This balanced perspective suggests that while there might be occasional shortcomings with specific items, the general quality and quantity of food are commendable.

The environment of Great Wall Restaurant is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, the mention of accommodating a large individual with a more sturdy chair implies a practical and functional setting. The fact that it was chosen for a family gathering suggests a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere suitable for groups. Without further details, it is reasonable to infer a casual and family-friendly environment rather than a highly formal or elaborately decorated space. The focus seems to be more on providing good food and service at a reasonable price in a comfortable setting.

Beyond the accommodating service and generally well-received food, the reviews do not highlight any specific unique features of Great Wall Restaurant. There is no mention of signature dishes that stand out above the rest, although the chicken egg foo yung and beef fried rice were specifically praised. The restaurant seems to focus on providing a solid offering of familiar Chinese-American dishes at a good value.

Similarly, the provided information does not include any details about current promotional offers or special deals at Great Wall Restaurant. Customers have primarily focused on their dining experiences and the quality and price of the food. To inquire about any ongoing promotions, such as lunch specials, family deals, or seasonal offers, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly at (510) 352-8343 or +1 510-352-8343.

In conclusion, Great Wall Restaurant in San Leandro offers a welcoming environment with friendly service and generally good quality Chinese-American food at reasonable prices. It appears to be a suitable choice for individuals and families, as evidenced by its ability to accommodate a large individual comfortably and host family gatherings. While one review noted a minor issue with the fried chicken, the majority of the feedback highlights the good taste and volume of the food, particularly the chicken egg foo yung and beef fried rice. For local users seeking a reliable and affordable Chinese dining option with attentive service, Great Wall Restaurant is worth considering. I love to support small restaurants over big chains when time allows. But unfortunately this nice little restaurant did not pass my taste test. I drive all over the Bay Area for work i love testing new Chinese restaurants. But here the food was underwhelming. The price was great but the food was not. The Mongolian beef lwas lacking in flavor and texture. Meat was tasteless unfortunately. The rice was ok. They soup was ok. The hot tea was hot as expected. Location was ok , a little empty for lunch. But I wouldn’t recommend unless u want a cheap Chinese lunch special for $10 with soup and tea included. To be fair I haven’t tasted any other dish but normally they use the same meat for most meat dishes. And the Mongolian beef is usually hard to get wrong. But pics of other plates on here look appetizing.
