About Great Wall

Great Wall is a Chinese restaurant situated at 12320 N Mustang Rd in Yukon, OK 73099. As part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Great Wall aims to provide the local community with a variety of Chinese-American dishes. They can be reached at (405) 283-0889 or +1 405-283-0889 for inquiries regarding their menu, services, and ordering options. Based on recent customer feedback, Great Wall offers online ordering and pickup services, with opinions on the food quality and taste varying.

Specific details about the environment and ambiance of Great Wall Restaurant are not mentioned in the provided reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants offer a casual dining atmosphere suitable for individuals and families. The decor can range from simple and functional to more traditionally adorned. Customers interested in dining in at Great Wall may want to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their seating arrangements and the overall dining experience they offer. Alternatively, looking for photos online, if available, could provide some insight into the restaurant's setting.

In terms of services, Great Wall appears to offer convenient options for customers. One reviewer specifically mentioned using their "website app" for online ordering, which they found "straight forward and easy to use." The restaurant also provides a pickup service, with the same reviewer noting that their order was ready within the estimated 30-minute timeframe. While not explicitly stated in the reviews, it is common for Chinese restaurants to also offer takeout for orders placed over the phone. Delivery services might be available either directly or through third-party delivery platforms; customers would need to confirm this by contacting Great Wall directly.

The features of Great Wall's food, as described by customers, present a mixed perspective. One reviewer who ordered General Tso's chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and pork lo mein found the food portions to be "huge" and the overall taste "pretty good." They noted that the General Tso's had a "nice taste" with a "little spice," while the Kung Pao "could use a little more kick." The pork lo mein was well-received by children, indicating its appeal to a younger palate. This positive review suggests that Great Wall can deliver satisfying meals with generous portions.

However, another review expressed significant dissatisfaction, focusing on the sweetness level of the food. This customer felt that the General Tso's chicken was excessively sweet, comparing it to "unstirred koolaid" and finding it inedible. They also described the chicken in the fried rice as "slimy and unflavored." This negative experience led the reviewer to conclude that the food quality had declined since their previous visit. They also referenced another review where a customer suspected that Great Wall might "just sugar coat and fry everything," and their own experience with the Sesame Chicken, which their wife said tasted like "chicken in a doughnut," seemed to support this concern about excessive sweetness.

The contrasting opinions on the food highlight a potential inconsistency or a particular flavor profile that may not appeal to all customers, especially those sensitive to sweetness in savory dishes. The positive comment about portion sizes is a potential advantage for those looking for value in terms of quantity. However, the concerns about excessive sweetness and the quality of certain ingredients, like the chicken in the fried rice, are important factors for potential customers to consider.

No specific promotional information for Great Wall Restaurant is mentioned in the provided reviews. Chinese restaurants often offer lunch specials, combination meals, or discounts on larger orders. To find out if Great Wall currently has any promotions, customers should check their website or online ordering platform (if they have one and it's actively updated) or contact them directly via phone. Inquiring about any special offers when placing an order is also a good practice to potentially save money.

In conclusion, Great Wall Restaurant in Yukon, OK, offers online ordering and pickup services, with generally large portion sizes. While one customer found the taste of several dishes to be good, another experienced issues with excessive sweetness and the quality of certain components. This suggests that the flavor profile at Great Wall might be sweeter than some customers prefer, and there may be inconsistencies in food quality. Potential customers should weigh these contrasting reviews and consider their own preferences, particularly regarding sweetness in Chinese cuisine. Utilizing the provided phone numbers to inquire about the menu and any current promotions might help in making an informed decision. Exploring their online ordering platform could also provide more details about their offerings.

Ordered online using their website app which was straight forward and easy to use. The food said it would be ready in 30 minutes for pickup and it was ready on time. We ordered the General Tsos, Kung Pao Chicken and Pork Lo Mein. The food portions are huge and tastes pretty good. General Tsos has a nice taste to it with a little Spice. The Kung Pao could use a little more kick to it. Kids ate up the lo mein with no complaints. Overall, I will order here again.

Way to sweet. If you put 2 cups of sugar in a glass of tea you might like it, but it was a disappointment for me. We couldn't eat it. Generals Chicken has never been so sweet that it was even noticable let alone to the point that I feel like I'm eating the bottom of a jug of unstired koolaid. The chicken in the fried rice is slimy and unflavored. This was the second time I tried them and it was worse.Edit just read the review where the gentleman thought he got sweet and sour when he ordered Generals and wanted an exchange. I believe they just sugar coat and fry everything. My wife said her Sesame Chicken tasted like chicken in a doughnut. Who knows if you enjoy that flavor profile... You might try it out.

We had an Uber delivery. Mongolian chicken was actually 4 pieces of chicken and all the rest was onion! Chicken fried rice was tasteless.

Decided to get takeout and try a new place, but I really wish I hadn't. I got the meal for 2 which is a good price and a lot of food, but almost all of the food went into the trash because it was disgusting. I hate wasting food but I don't think it was really edible. The chicken fried rice had no flavor and the chicken was disgusting, slimy and rubbery. With that we got general tso's which is usually not extremely sweet and is supposed to be a bit spicy but instead was just extremely sugary with no other flavor, and the chicken was soggy. The egg rolls were flavorless. The "crab" rangoons were basically cream cheese puffs and were not bad, just not what I ordered. We didn't touch the egg drop soup because everything else was such a letdown. I hate having to write bad reviews about local places because I do really try to support local businesses, but I wish I could go back in time and save my money.

This is a good spot for carryout. It's fairly typical American Chinese style fare, but they do have some more traditionally inspired Chinese dishes. I would always recommend going with fresh food over fried stuff, and they have a good selection here. The hot and sour soup was really good as was the chicken with veggies that I ordered. The sauce was flavorful, slightly sweet, garlicky, and soy sauce based. Price was fine. If you are planning to dine in, the atmosphere is a little bland and the place is super small. I would definitely recommend carryout. 7.7/10
