One reviewer expressed that the chow mein here is "amazing" and evokes a nostalgic feeling, reminding them of the first time they ever tasted it. This strong positive sentiment suggests that the chow mein is a standout dish and a primary reason for this customer's repeated visits. Furthermore, they highlighted the combination of chow mein and black bean soup as a particularly enjoyable "one two" punch. The reviewer also noted the restaurant's accessibility for college students and suburban residents, emphasizing its affordability and recommending it over similar options, especially for those on the go.

Another customer also had a very positive experience, praising the "large portions" and "hot fresh food." They mentioned getting two orders of three items each for a very reasonable price of $8.99 per order, noting that one order would have been sufficient for two people, underscoring the generous portion sizes and excellent value. This reviewer specifically enjoyed the "perfect" orange chicken and the sweet and sour chicken, as well as the "delicious" fried chicken ordered by their husband. They also commended the "fast" service and the "really nice" cashier, contributing to a pleasant overall experience. The reviewer's regret at not taking photos due to hunger and their intention to do so on their next visit further indicate their satisfaction and plan to return.

These reviews collectively paint a picture of Great Wall Express as a restaurant that excels in providing delicious food, particularly their chow mein and other popular dishes like orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and fried chicken. A significant feature highlighted by both reviewers is the affordability of the meals, with one specifically mentioning the cheap prices and the other noting the great value for the large portions received. The service is also positively mentioned, with one reviewer describing it as fast and the cashier as very nice.

While the reviews focus primarily on the food quality, portion sizes, price, and service, they do not provide specific details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance. However, the emphasis on affordability and convenience, along with the recommendation for those on the go, might suggest a more casual and functional setting geared towards quick service and takeout, although dine-in service is likely also available given that customers can order multiple items. Chow mein here is amazing, for some odd reason it just reminds me of how it tasted the first time I ever had it. Which is why I would always come here for the chow mein. But it’s really all about the one two…chow mein and black bean soup. So so good, easy for college kids and suburbs to get to as well. Super affordable and if you have this place as an option while you’re in the area, go for it over anything similar, especially if you’re on the go.

Large portions, hot fresh food. We got 2 orders of three items for $8.99 each but we would have had enough food for both of us just ordering one. The orange chicken was perfect along with the sweet and sour chicken. My husband got fried chicken, also delicious. Service was fast and the cashier was really nice! I forgot to take photos, sorry! We were really hungry! I will get photos next visit!

Initially I was happy with the portions except the lo mein was crunchy. About 3 to 4 hours after eating here I started getting sick, turned out I got food poisoning. Worst experience ever. I'm still trying to get over it.
