About Great Wall Cuisine

Great Wall Cuisine is a Chinese restaurant located at 3446 W Camelback Rd #155, Phoenix, AZ 85017, USA. As a Chinese Restaurant with a history spanning decades for some families, Great Wall Cuisine is known for its authentic and extensive menu, including both regular dishes and a popular dim sum selection.

According to a long-time patron, the food is "authentic and excellent" for those who know what to order. A significant feature of Great Wall Cuisine is its dim sum service, particularly on weekends. However, the atmosphere during dim sum hours is described as "usually chaotic and crowded," which might be a consideration for individuals sensitive to a bustling environment.

Customers have enjoyed a wide variety of dishes from the regular menu, including the lobster stir-fried with ginger sauce (with a note that it's also tasty prepared with black bean sauce), Peking duck, scallops with black bean sauce, salt and pepper fried chicken, steamed ginger sea bass, chicken chow mein, fried rice with BBQ pork/Chinese sausage, seafood soup with shrimp/tofu/egg flower/mushrooms, shrimp with walnuts and cream sauce (featuring "gigantic" shrimp), and mixed veggies in a savory sauce. This diverse selection indicates a broad range of culinary offerings.

In addition to the regular menu, the dim sum carts offer a variety of treats such as coconut buns, egg tarts (a noted favorite), and har gow, which were enjoyed as part of a "fantastic birthday lunch."

While one newer customer acknowledged that the food was "good," they felt that some dishes were "missing a flavor profile here and there" that would have elevated them further. The service, however, was described as "very pleasant," with staff taking the time to explain the ordering process for first-time visitors ordering from the dim sum carts. This reviewer's overall impression was that the restaurant leaned towards "quantity over quality" in some aspects.

In summary, Great Wall Cuisine offers a wide array of authentic Chinese dishes and a popular dim sum service. The atmosphere can be lively, especially during weekend dim sum hours. While generally well-regarded for its extensive menu and pleasant service, some recent diners have noted minor areas for flavor improvement in certain dishes. For local users in Phoenix seeking a traditional Chinese dining experience with a strong dim sum offering, Great Wall Cuisine is a well-established option.

My family has been going here for decades. Food is authentic and excellent if you know what to order. The atmosphere is usually chaotic and crowded on weekends during dim sum hours, so keep that in mind if you’re easily overstimulated. We recently had from their regular menu the lobster stir-fried with ginger sauce (prepared with black bean sauce is tasty, too!), Peking duck, scallops with black bean sauce, salt and pepper fried chicken, steamed ginger sea bass, chicken chow mein, fried rice with BBQ pork/Chinese sausage, seafood soup with shrimp/tofu/egg flower/mushrooms, shrimp with walnuts and cream sauce (shrimp were gigantic!), and mixed veggies in a savory sauce. Because we couldn’t resist, we also grabbed some coconut buns, egg tarts (probably my favorite), and har gow from the dim sum carts. It was a fantastic birthday lunch!

We went here after hearing all the good reviews and while the food was good. It was still missing a flavor profile here and there that would have knocked it out of the park. The service was very pleasant and since it was the first time here they explained how it worked and we started ordering from the carts. I was just wanting a little more flavor in some of them. Otherwise, it was quantity over quality.

My friends and I came here for dim sum the other day and the food was very good, you do end your spending a lot of money but that’s to be expected for this type of dining. However i wish they would make it more obvious which dishes had fish / shrimp, as one of our friend gets nauseas from it. Also we didn’t get water until a few plates into our meal, apparently you have to ask for it it’s not just given. Overall good experience though!

Appreciated that they have rolling carts with hot dim sum dishes you can choose. Their fried chicken is AMAZING. They have a wide selection to choose from and there's always a next cart coming. Always busy on the weekend but there's never a wait. You can also order for quick pick up.

If you want good food served with a smile and according to your palate go elsewhere. Today I went to get some wor wonton soup it’s so yummy here and fried rice usually I get shrimp but my partner said let’s try the house fried rice I guess it will remain a mystery as we got shrimp which was good but don’t charge me for something I didn’t receive lastly don’t treat me like I’m a peasant when I spend $40.00 and question the validity of whats not here. It was good while it lasted. Looking for a new place or there’s always Thai!
