About Great Wall Buffet
Welcome to Great Wall Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 347 N Main St in Woodruff, South Carolina. As a prominent member of the Chinese Restaurant category in the area, Great Wall Buffet offers a buffet-style dining experience along with lunch specials, catering to local residents and visitors. They can be contacted at (864) 476-8483 or +1 864-476-8483. Based on the available customer reviews, Great Wall Buffet is appreciated for its traditional Chinese-American buffet offerings, friendly staff, and unique restaurant decor.
Environment: According to one customer review, Great Wall Buffet is "decorated really cool with wooden carved scenes in the glass next to the tables." This suggests a unique and potentially appealing aesthetic that sets it apart from typical Chinese buffet restaurants. The presence of wooden carved scenes in glass panels indicates an effort to create an interesting and perhaps culturally themed dining atmosphere. While the overall size or layout of the buffet area is not described in detail, this specific decorative element suggests that the environment is something customers have noticed and appreciated. The reviewer also mentioned enjoying their meal, implying a comfortable enough setting for dining.
Services: Great Wall Buffet primarily operates as a buffet restaurant, offering a wide selection of dishes for a fixed price. However, one customer specifically mentioned having "lunch specials," indicating that they also provide menu-based options, particularly during lunchtime. This offers flexibility for customers who may not want the full buffet or are looking for more economical choices. The reviews also highlight "pretty quick service" for those ordering lunch specials, suggesting efficient table service in addition to the self-serve buffet. The staff is described as "friendly" in both reviews, indicating a positive customer service experience overall. While takeout or delivery services are not explicitly mentioned, it is common for buffet restaurants to focus primarily on dine-in service. Customers interested in takeout or delivery should contact the restaurant directly to inquire about these options.
Features: The main feature of Great Wall Buffet is its buffet offering, which, according to one review, has a "modest selection of foods" but includes "the traditional favorites you'd expect to find at a Chinese buffet." This suggests that customers can anticipate a familiar range of popular Chinese-American dishes. Specific food items praised in the reviews include the "Pork Egg rolls" and the "Great Wall Chicken," with one customer stating these are their "personal favorites." Another customer who opted for lunch specials enjoyed the "shrimp lo mein" and the "sesame chicken," describing them as "really good." This indicates that Great Wall Buffet excels in preparing these classic dishes and that they are well-received by their patrons. The availability of both a buffet and lunch specials broadens their appeal to different customer preferences and dining needs.
The price of the buffet was mentioned by one reviewer as "$15/each," which they considered "a bit more expensive" for their particular visit, as they were not very hungry and opted for the lunch specials instead. This provides some insight into the pricing structure, with the buffet being a higher-priced option compared to the individual lunch specials. The fact that the reviewer chose the lunch specials suggests that these are likely more affordable and suitable for individuals or smaller appetites. The positive feedback on multiple dishes, both from the buffet and the lunch specials, indicates a consistent quality in their cooking.
The unique decor, featuring wooden carved scenes in the glass, is another notable feature that contributes to the overall dining experience at Great Wall Buffet.
Promotional Information: The provided customer reviews do not explicitly mention any ongoing promotions or special offers at Great Wall Buffet. However, the mention of "lunch specials" implies that they do have discounted pricing or specific menu options available during lunch hours. These lunch specials likely offer a more affordable way to enjoy some of their popular dishes. To find out more details about the lunch specials, their pricing, and any other current promotions (such as senior discounts, family deals, or weekday specials), it is recommended to contact the restaurant directly at (864) 476-8483 or +1 864-476-8483. Information about daily or weekly specials might also be available at the restaurant itself or on any local online platforms they may use.
In conclusion, Great Wall Buffet in Woodruff, SC, offers a traditional Chinese buffet experience with a selection of familiar and well-liked dishes, including their praised pork egg rolls and Great Wall Chicken. They also provide lunch specials featuring items like shrimp lo mein and sesame chicken, catering to those seeking more affordable or smaller meal options. The restaurant features a unique and appealing decor with wooden carved scenes in glass, contributing to a distinctive dining environment. The staff is consistently described as friendly, providing good service. While the buffet is priced at around $15 per person, the availability of lunch specials offers a more budget-friendly alternative. For those in Woodruff or passing through, Great Wall Buffet appears to be a solid choice for a satisfying Chinese meal with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Customer Reviews
This has been one of my favorite buffets! It has a modest selection of foods, but has the traditional favorites you'd expect to find at a Chinese buffet. My personal favorites are the Pork Egg rolls and the Great Wall Chicken. It's not for everyone, but if your in town and hungry definitely stop by!
Went here for lunch with my daughter and had lunch specials. The shrimp lo mein was really good and so was the sesame chicken. They had a buffet but was a bit more expensive $15/each & didn’t want to pay that. We also weren’t that hungry. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is decorated really cool with wooden carved scenes in the glass next to the tables. We had pretty quick service and will go back again.
I will start with the positives. It always looks clean, the staff provides prompt and good service. My concern is this - I’ve been coming here for about 8 years now and their prices keep going up. You wouldn’t know it based on the menu because they use a generic menu and the don’t charge the prices that are listed. If you ask for a receipt, it just shows a final total, nothing is itemized. It’s getting to a point it feels very shady with the prices. This is not a rich town so I feel $37 for two meals (no extra egg rolls or side items.) is extreme. It didn’t cost this much before. The food is always very hot and they do give good portions. They are just over-priced and need to be transparent on prices. This it’s important no matter the business. Won’t be going back anymore. The last bill shocked me when I went to pick up. The town is growing and there are other places to try that don’t cost this much. It’s sad what they are doing.
I ordered a food item and asked for no onion. Came home and there’s white onion. Item also had cabbage. It’s fine but it didn’t say there was cabbage to begin with. Husband called to get it fixed and they proceeded to literally tell him there’s no onion in his order. Apparently to them we don’t know what the taste of white onion is. Made my husband sent them a photo of his food item and kept on saying that’s just cabbage in the photo. Clearly this person that answered the phone doesn’t cook at all to know the difference between onion and cabbage. Not sure if people do this often but definitely never ordering food from here again. Safe yourself and just go to the Hachi Express Steak & Seafood. Much better service.
Amazing place, they have been serving the town for a long time and will continue to hopefully!
