Great Lakes Chinese Restaurant

Swung in to try the lunch specials and was not disappointed one bit! Ordered the Cashew Chicken lunch platter and added an edd drop soup, and the food came out quickly. This was, maybe, the best Chinese I've had in town yet. Everything felt fresh, the veggies were crisp and the chicken and sauce were flavorful, too! Bonus: they deliver to my place! New favorite Chinese restaurant in Grandville, bar none.

Ordered takeout around 145pm today. The service was fine, the staff was friendly but the food was actually terrible. Super dry sesame chicken that was also somehow mushy. The egg rolls tasted like they had cinnamon in them and after inspecting them I did find what looked like cinnamon all throughout the veggies inside. The hot and sour soup tasted like spicy bbq sauce? Like what? $40 for 2 entrees was wild but a lot of people recommended this place. I have no clue why. The food was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.

I cannot begin to say how awful the food was. My friend and I ordered completely different things and both dishes looked exactly the same. Meat and veggies with some flavorless, white, gelatinous goo over it.

They have the best hot and sour soup and egg drop soup in the whole state of Michigan. 10 out of 10 every time and I've been going here for over 10 years. You truly get family experience at this restaurant. Love Great lakes and always have.

Decided to try a new Chinese restaurant on Friday night for dinner. Dined at Great Lakes Chinese restaurant. So glad we did, it was quality Chinese food in a pleasant atmosphere with delightful staff. My wife, especially enjoyed their hot tea, wonton soup, and house, special Mei Fun entrée - long thin rice noodles with cabbage, carrots, egg, shrimp, chicken, pork, beef, and a very light but flavorful sauce. Moon, one of the owners, was our server. She was extremely pleasant and a joy to talk to. She really made the meal extra special. And to top it off, not only do you get fortune cookies with your check, but you also get delicious almond cookies to round off your meal!
