About Great China Restaurant

Great China Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 110 E Fairfield Rd #114 in High Point, North Carolina. Serving the local community, Great China Restaurant offers a range of Chinese dishes, primarily catering to takeout customers. They can be contacted at (336) 434-8688 or via their mobile number +1 336-434-8688 for placing orders or inquiries.

Based on the online reviews, customer experiences at Great China Restaurant appear to be mixed, with contrasting opinions on food quality, pricing, and the overall experience. One customer who visited due to their usual place being closed noted the restaurant's low ratings but proceeded with an order of a lunch General Tso's chicken with lo mein. This customer reported being charged the dinner price despite ordering an hour before the end of the lunch period, raising concerns about pricing accuracy. Furthermore, they criticized the General Tso's chicken for being precooked, resulting in a tough texture, and expressed dissatisfaction with the practice of serving what they perceived as old chicken. This reviewer stated they would not return due to this negative experience, especially in comparison to their regular restaurant.

In contrast, another customer had a more positive experience, highlighting that their order was 100% correct and that the portions, particularly the meat, were generous, providing leftovers. They mentioned a shrimp dish with large and tasty shrimp, although the overall flavor of that dish was just okay. The boneless spareribs combo with pork chow mein was praised as "good," leading this customer to indicate they would visit again. Regarding the atmosphere, this reviewer noted that the location is in a "sketchy area" and is more geared towards takeout, resembling a drive-through setup inside with limited seating primarily for waiting customers. This was acceptable to them as they intended to take the food home. They also appreciated the inclusion of chili oil without request and the offer for more when inquired about it.

Considering these two reviews, the environment of Great China Restaurant seems to be less focused on a traditional dine-in experience and more oriented towards takeout. The description of a "drive-through but inside" with limited seating suggests a functional space primarily for order pickup and waiting. The mention of being in a "sketchy area" is an environmental factor that some customers might consider.

The services offered by Great China Restaurant primarily include takeout, as emphasized by the setup and the intentions of the customers in the reviews. While there is some seating available for waiting, it does not appear to be a full-service dine-in establishment. The accuracy of order fulfillment was noted positively by one reviewer. However, the discrepancy in pricing (charging dinner price for a lunch order) reported by another customer indicates potential issues with service accuracy or understanding of order specifics.

The features of Great China Restaurant, as perceived by customers, are varied. Generous meat portions and correct order fulfillment were positive aspects for one reviewer. The inclusion of chili oil and the willingness to provide more were also appreciated. However, the use of precooked chicken resulting in a tough texture and the potential for incorrect pricing are significant negative features highlighted by another customer. The quality of specific dishes also seems to vary, with the boneless spareribs combo receiving praise while the General Tso's chicken and the overall flavor of the shrimp dish received mixed feedback.

Promotional information for Great China Restaurant is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for Chinese restaurants to offer lunch specials, combo deals, or family-sized meals. The first reviewer attempted to order a lunch special, suggesting that such options might be available during specific hours. To inquire about any current promotions, daily specials, or their full menu, local users are advised to contact Great China Restaurant directly at (336) 434-8688 or +1 336-434-8688.

In conclusion, Great China Restaurant in High Point, NC, is primarily a takeout-focused Chinese eatery with mixed customer reviews. While one customer praised the generous portions, correct order, and quality of certain dishes like the boneless spareribs, another reported issues with potentially precooked food and incorrect pricing. The environment is described as more functional for takeout, located in an area that one reviewer considered "sketchy." Services focus on takeout, with some seating for waiting. Potential customers should be aware of the contrasting experiences reported and may want to inquire about the preparation methods and pricing when placing their orders. For local users seeking a convenient takeout option for Chinese food in High Point, Great China Restaurant is a possibility, but considering the mixed feedback, managing expectations might be prudent.

I only came here bc my place was closed today! The first thing I noticed was their low ratings but decided to go ahead anyway.. I ordered a lunch general tos chicken with lo main…my total reflects the dinner price versus me clearly asking for lunch an hour before lunch ended! Why??? Second the general tos chicken was cooked hours before and just sauced when ordered! Do you know how long chicken has to SIT to get sooo tough!?? Why are you guys serving precooked food?!? I’ve been eating Chinese all my life they always say 10 Minutes he said 7 which I thought was odd but now I know its bc we’re skipping frying the chicken.. I won’t return bc my place around the corner has NEVER given me old chicken.. never ….

They got our order 100% correct. There was so much meat, and I had leftovers for days. There was this shrimp dish where the shrimp was so big and tasty, but the flavor of the dish itself was just okay. I got the boneless spareribs combo with pork chow mein, and man was that good. Will go again! As for atmosphere, it's in a sketchy area and it's not really a sit-down. It's more like a drive-through but inside and enough seating for people to wait for their food. But that was fine with me, because we wanted to bring it home anyway. Bonus points for including chili oil without me asking, and bonus points for offering to give me more when I asked about the chili oil (I didn't know it was already in the box).

Best Chinese in all high point and Greensboro. The best taste and they serve you a lot of meat. Not like other places that put only a few pieces of meat and the rest onions and green peppers. Egg Roll included in the combination.

I love the food from this place! They have great soup, the rice is cooked perfectly, and the veggies are actually crunchy. The 3 stars however comes from the actual restaurant itself... it's very dark, sad looking, and very unappealing. Most of the staff is friendly though but the place needs a serious face lift.
