About Great Beijing Chinese Restaurant

Located at 6717 Lincoln Ave in Lincolnwood, IL, Great Beijing Chinese Restaurant offers a distinctive culinary experience specializing in "Korean Chinese" cuisine. They can be reached at (847) 673-5588 or +1 847-673-5588 for inquiries or orders.

Many patrons have expressed strong positive sentiments towards Great Beijing. One loyal customer, who has been visiting for 25 years since moving to Chicago, enthusiastically recommends it for its "amazing Korean Chinese" food, citing consistent quality, affordability, and hospitality as reasons for their continued patronage despite a 40-minute drive. They frequently order dishes like 짜장면 (black bean noodles), 짬뽕 (spicy seafood noodles), and 탕수육 (sweet & sour pork), occasionally adding 깐풍기 (crispy garlic chicken) or 고추잡채 (stir-fried spicy peppers and pork), all described as flavorful and generously portioned.

The welcoming atmosphere is also highlighted, with the owner's warm greeting and the presence of consistent, friendly servers contributing to a positive dining experience. This long-term customer, with experience in the food and beverage industry, views the consistent staff as a testament to a well-run establishment, ultimately leading to happy customers.

However, a more recent review from June 30, 2024, shared a contrasting experience with a pickup order placed through Grubhub. This customer, who had dined at the location previously, reported a lack of greeting and significant wait time upon arrival, despite the restaurant not appearing busy. While their partner found the orange chicken to be okay, the reviewer was highly dissatisfied with their shrimp chow mein, which they described as lacking noodles and consisting primarily of shrimp, lettuce, vegetables in a soup-like liquid with little flavor. This negative experience led to a strong recommendation against ordering their version of chow mein and a vow not to order from the restaurant again, also mentioning a perceived lack of attentiveness from the staff.

Great Beijing Chinese Restaurant has cultivated a loyal following over the years for its unique Korean-Chinese cuisine, characterized by flavorful and generously portioned dishes and warm hospitality. However, recent feedback indicates a potential for inconsistency in food preparation and service, particularly with takeout orders. Local users may want to weigh the long-standing positive reputation against more recent experiences when considering dining or ordering from this establishment.

We happily drive 40 min just to eat here! Since moving to Chicago 25 years ago, this spot has been my go-to for amazing "Korean Chinese" food. While it’s quite a drive from where I live, the hospitality, consistent food quality, and affordability make it well worth the trip. From the moment you arrive, the owner’s warm greeting sets the tone, and we’re often served by the same server—a sign of a happy and well-run establishment. As someone with experience in the F&B industry, this speaks volumes. Happy employees lead to happy customers. Our usual order includes 짜장면 (black bean noodles), 짬뽕 (spicy seafood noodles), and 탕수육 (sweet & sour pork). Occasionally, we’ll add dishes like 깐풍기 (crispy garlic chicken) or 고추잡채 (stir-fried spicy peppers and pork). Every dish is flavorful, generously portioned, and consistently delicious. It’s clear that this restaurant has built a strong reputation and continues to serve its community with pride.

06/30/24 I ordered today thru grubhub for a pick up. I’ve actually ordered and ate at this location before so I’m surprised with my experience. Pick up was today at 1:45-1:55, I arrive and three ladies walk past me, don’t even greet or ask if I need anything since I’m just standing there. Literally waited more than I should to even get my order and even talk to anyone. If busy, I would understand but currently they’re not at all, and that is not an exaggeration. My partners orange chicken was okay, I’ll give that 4 stars. I ordered the chow mein with shrimp. An expensive chow mein- but I’m literally missing the noodles. It is filled with just shrimp and lettuce and vegetables and in a soup/liquid. I thought I had a soup when I opened it. I attached a photo for reference. I ate all the shrimp which were okay, nothing crazy. The soup/liquid is alright, I’m surprised I could have very little flavor in something drenched with so much. Honestly I dislike my entire experience and food, for a pricey items that honestly are not. If this is THEIR version of chow mein please skip it and never order. Don’t expect to be greeted or spoken too unless you look a certain way too probably. I definitely won’t be ordering here again.

Great tasty food that cures the cravings! Service is friendly and welcoming. Hunan chicken has tender breast meat and includes pea pods, mushrooms, bamboo and baby corn in a spicy sauce. Egg roll wrappers are just right, on the thinner side. Sauteed four greens has a nice brown sauce and the veggies are cooked with a slight crunch. Many options on the menu with everyone's favorites.

If you’re looking for authentic flavors and large portions that make your eyes pop, this place is a winner! The food tastes like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen (if Grandma cooked professionally). Quick service, big servings, and prices that don’t break the bank. Come hungry, leave happy… and possibly with leftovers.

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant and I've been to many...a bunch many. I don't know if the greeter is the owner but he's always enthusiastic and gives a big welcome. Food is awesome...my fave is the Mongolian Beef which is served more sweet than spicy which is usually what u expect (spicy) but it is delicious. Their egg flower soup is also my favorite w all sorts of fun ingredients.
