About Great Asian Wok

Customer reviews for Great Asian Wok present contrasting opinions. One reviewer strongly advises against this establishment based on a recent takeout order. They described the dinner combos as horribly bland and seemingly old. The pu pu platter was reported to be cold and greasy with nothing crunchy. The spring rolls were deemed terrible, with a mushy filling that tasted like it had spoiled. This reviewer felt that the $50 cost for two people did not reflect the poor quality of the food.

In contrast, another reviewer enthusiastically recommends Great Asian Wok as the "#1 spot in town for authentic Chinese food." They specifically praise the boneless spare ribs, well done with white rice, and mention visiting the restaurant at least twice a week, indicating a high level of satisfaction and frequent patronage.

For local users in Hazleton looking for a Chinese takeout option, Great Asian Wok has received both very negative and very positive feedback. While one customer experienced bland, old, and poorly prepared food, another considers it the best authentic Chinese food in town, particularly recommending the boneless spare ribs. Potential customers may want to consider these differing opinions when making their decision.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend this place. We placed an order to go and got a couple dinner combos and a pu pu platter. The dinner combos were horribly bland and honestly seemed a bit old, everything in the shared platter was cold and greasy nothing crunchy about it. The spring rolls were terrible one bite was all we could stand it was like straight mush and had probably gone bad earlier this week. For 50 dollars for 2 people I would expect a little better but Chinese food definitely isn't like it used to be 😴

The food was good. I tried something I usually don't order, so it's hard to review something that I ate for the first time. That being said, I didn't like the food, and the atmosphere seemed cleaned, and quiet 🤫 I would certainly try again, but this time with my usual order for Chinese food. Then, I can compare and contrast.

Best pork fried rice in town in my opinion... except I love bean sprouts on mine and they don't have it, nor anyone else in town. In comparison to NYC Chinese restaurants, this place is the closest to their quality. I've been coming here since they opened I think was about 10 years ago. Note their pork fried rice is always having tiny pieces of pork. To get a full experience of true pork fried rice from here, ask for $1-$2 pork extra. What they should also have is bean sprouts for that NYC Chinese food experience which are very, very well known to have the best Americanized Chinese food in the nation. But unfortunately nobody in the area offers bean sprouts in the fried rice.
