About Grandview Palace
Grandview Palace is a Chinese restaurant situated at 60 N Raymond Ave in Pasadena, California. As a local Chinese restaurant, it aims to serve the community with a variety of Chinese dishes. Customers can reach Grandview Palace at (626) 577-2888 or +1 626-577-2888 for inquiries or to place orders.
Based on recent online reviews from patrons, the experiences at Grandview Palace appear to be mixed, particularly concerning the quality of certain dishes. One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with several items they ordered. According to this review, the broccoli in one dish was described as "soft and mushy," indicating a potential issue with the texture and preparation of vegetables. The egg foo yung was criticized for lacking vegetables and being served with a "soupy thin sauce," deviating from expected standards. Furthermore, the "shrimp and snowpeas dish" was described as "just wrong" with a "dark brown sauce" and no snow peas present, suggesting a significant discrepancy in the preparation of this dish.
The same reviewer also commented on the chow fun, a dish they frequently order, stating that Grandview Palace's version was "not good" and notably inferior to a similar dish from another local establishment. This customer drew a comparison to another Chinese restaurant known for its quality, implying that Grandview Palace's offerings did not meet the same standards despite potentially similar pricing. The reviewer suggested that if the prices are comparable to higher-quality establishments, the food quality at Grandview Palace should be improved.
However, not all feedback for Grandview Palace is negative. Another customer shared a positive experience, specifically highlighting the "combination garlic sauce" as "truly exceptional." This reviewer praised the "complex flavors" of the sauce and how it "perfectly complemented the dish." They were "thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste" of this particular offering and expressed a strong intention to return to enjoy it again. This positive feedback suggests that while some dishes may fall short, others at Grandview Palace could be of high quality and flavor.
The contrasting reviews indicate a potential inconsistency in the food quality across different dishes at Grandview Palace. While one customer experienced multiple issues with their order, another found a specific dish to be outstanding. This suggests that the restaurant may have areas where it excels and other areas that require improvement.

In conclusion, Grandview Palace is a Chinese restaurant in Pasadena that has received mixed reviews regarding its food quality. While one customer reported significant issues with several dishes, including the broccoli, egg foo yung, shrimp and snowpeas, and chow fun, another customer highly praised the combination garlic sauce. This inconsistency suggests that experiences may vary. Local users considering dining at Grandview Palace may want to take these recent reviews into account and potentially inquire about specific dishes or recent changes in their preparation. The food quality isn't very good. Broccoli is soft and mushy. Egg foo yung didn't have veggies in it and came with a soupy thin sauce. The shrimp and snowpeas dish was just wrong ...dark brown sauce with no snow peas. Chow fun is my go to dish and their's is not good. I ordered it last night from Wokcano and it was better there. I'm probably spoilef by New Moon but if you are going to charge the same prices do better on your food.
The combination garlic sauce was truly exceptional. Its complex flavors perfectly complemented the dish. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste. I will certainly return to enjoy this offering again. This establishment is a must-try for anyone seeking delicious food.
1. Service from the waiter was impeccable, he brought me soup broth for my baby because he was a little sick , and white rice to comfort him immediately. Such a kind man, Deserves a raise! 2. We ordered, combination lo-main (BOMB!) combination fried rice (TASTY ASF!), orange chicken ( CRUNCHY and Sauce was Perfect!), Beef and Broccoli ( Fresh Veggies, perfectly seared beef!) 3. Reasonably priced and plate sizes were large so we took some left overs home for my family. You won’t regret eating at this place. I live 7 hours away and was just driving by on my way home to the Bay Area will definitely stop by my next trip 🙂
I had dinner at this place with some friends and we had a really bad time. The man who collects at the cash register was rude and ill-tempered. In addition to that, he mistreated the waiter the whole time, who, despite the treatment he was receiving, did not stop being kind and patient with the people who were dining there. The food was acceptable although it could be improved. I do not recommend it. The waiter deserves better treatment.
This is proper American Chinese food! ie, nothing like how it's supposed to taste! Salt and pepper pork chops didn't have any pepper or spice to it at all. Seafood hotpot was more of a stir fry, and tasted identical to the vegetable chow mein. All the dishes were way too salty. Waiter was too busy sitting down and chatting with the only other patron in the restaurant to even bother checking in until 5-10 minutes after I was done eating.
