About Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen

Welcome to Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant located at 5612 S Grand Blvd in St. Louis, Missouri. As a Chinese Restaurant within the platform category, Grand Wok aims to provide the local community with a variety of Chinese dishes, catering to both takeout and potentially dine-in customers.

Based on recent customer feedback, it is important for potential diners to be aware of some significant concerns regarding the food quality, preparation, and customer service at Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen. One customer, while acknowledging that the food was "very good" in terms of taste, reported a severe issue with the packaging of their fried food. They stated that the food was dripping in grease and placed in a styrofoam container. This resulted in the container melting and adhering to another box, causing a spill throughout the bag when the customer attempted to remove it. Despite praising the flavor of the food, this customer expressed significant disappointment due to the incompetent handling and packaging, which ultimately detracted from their experience.

Another customer who ordered carry out, consisting of two entrees and an appetizer, reported a lengthy wait time of almost 30 minutes. They also noted that the restaurant appeared to be far from busy, with only one occupied table. This suggests that the delay was not due to high volume. Furthermore, this customer described the food as greasy and not tasting very good at all. Their attempt to address this negative experience by calling the restaurant resulted in an unsatisfactory response; they reported that the person on the phone simply said "ok" and then hung up. This lack of concern and refusal to rectify the situation led this customer to express their disappointment and their decision not to give the restaurant another chance.

These two recent reviews highlight significant issues that potential customers should consider. The first review points to problems with the handling and packaging of greasy food, which can lead to a messy and unpleasant experience despite the taste. The second review raises concerns about slow service even when the restaurant is not busy and, more importantly, the poor quality and taste of the food itself, as well as a complete lack of customer service when a complaint was raised.

The reviews offer very limited information about the environment of Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen. The mention of only one occupied table during a 30-minute wait for a takeout order suggests that the dine-in business might be slow, or at least it was at the time of that particular customer's visit. However, there are no descriptions of the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere. Therefore, it is difficult to provide an objective overview of the dine-in environment based on the available feedback.

In terms of services, Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen offers takeout, as explicitly mentioned by one of the reviewers. The fact that a customer waited 30 minutes for a carry-out order indicates that this is a service they provide. The availability of phone numbers, (314) 449-1928 and +1 314-449-1928, confirms that phone orders are accepted. Whether they offer dine-in services is not definitively stated, but the mention of a table in the restaurant suggests that it is a possibility, although perhaps not their primary focus.

Features of Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen, based on the limited and largely negative feedback, are difficult to ascertain positively. While one customer found the taste of the food to be "very good," this was overshadowed by significant issues with its preparation and packaging. The slow service for a takeout order when the restaurant was not busy and the poor quality of the food (greasy and not tasty) reported by another customer are concerning. The lack of adequate customer service when a complaint was made is also a significant negative feature based on the provided reviews.

Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any information about ongoing promotional offers or special deals at Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen. For local users interested in potential discounts or promotions, it would be advisable to contact the restaurant directly via phone or inquire in person if they visit. Checking local online platforms or delivery apps might also provide information on deals if Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen partners with them.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen in St. Louis, MO, present a mixed and largely negative picture. While one customer enjoyed the taste of the food, they experienced significant problems with its greasy preparation and inadequate packaging. Another customer reported slow service, poor food quality, and a complete lack of customer service when attempting to address their concerns. These issues raise serious red flags for potential customers. The reviews offer little insight into the restaurant's environment, but the focus on negative aspects of the food and service suggests that local users should approach Grand Wok Chinese Kitchen with caution and perhaps consider these recent experiences before placing an order or visiting the establishment. It would be prudent to seek more recent feedback from other sources if available to get a broader perspective.

Food is very good but I just spent $50 for an incompetent worker to place fried food dripping in grease into a styrofoam container, which whenever I went to pull out the said box it caused the one it had melted to, opened up spilling everywhere inside the bag. Very disappointed but food is excellent

Ordered carry out. 2 entrees and an appetizer. Took almost 30 minutes. There was only 1 table in the restaurant, so it’s not like they were busy. Food was greasy and didn’t taste very good at all. When I called and told them about my experience. His response was “ok”, then hung up the phone. I would have given this place another shot, if they would have made it right. But I guess that’s not an option. What a let down.

Some of the worst Chinese carryout I've ever had. Food tasted stale - orange chicken was tough AF and so nasty had to 86 it. Long wait for food, high prices relative to other (much better) places nearby. NEVER going back. Update: Ended up with food poisoning (nausea and diarrhea) later in the day. Reported to city and state health departments.

This is some of the laziest service I’ve had in a while. They literally are so cheap that they refuse to give you any sauces other than (1-3) with every to go order. The guy answering the phone usually has an attitude as well. Do NOT serve food unless you can appreciate the individuals purchasing from your location.
