Welcome to Grand Sichuan Eastern, an Asian Restaurant located at 1049 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10022, USA. While categorized as a Chinese Restaurant focusing on Sichuan cuisine, Grand Sichuan Eastern offers a range of dishes. You can contact them at (212) 355-5855 or +1 212-355-5855.
According to customer reviews, the pork soup dumplings are a standout and a favorite dish to order. Many other dishes are also considered good, including the fried rice, lo mein (though not a top favorite), Gui Zhou spicy chicken, beef with green peppers, and king pao chicken.
It's noted that while the soup dumplings are delicious when dining in, they are smaller and not as good when delivered. This is likely due to the delicate nature of the dumplings, which might not hold up well during transit. Therefore, the recommendation is to dine in to fully enjoy them.
One customer shared a negative lunch experience, noting disappointment that the advertised daily lunch specials were not available for dine-in on a weekend (though the menu did not specify this weekend exclusion) and were only offered for to-go orders. This customer also experienced a 20-minute wait for steamed dumplings after ordering and found the diced fried fish to be very dry and overly spicy due to the inclusion of hot peppers not mentioned on the menu. This resulted in a negative experience where the customer felt compelled to pay for a meal they did not eat or enjoy.
Overall, Grand Sichuan Eastern seems to be known for certain dishes like the pork soup dumplings and offers a variety of other Sichuan specialties. However, it's important to note potential inconsistencies in the availability of specials and the description of ingredients on the menu. For the best experience with their popular soup dumplings, dining in is recommended. No specific promotional information was available in the provided reviews.

Customer Reviews
The pork soup dumplings here are delicious and my favorite dish to order. But many dishes here are good. Fried rice is pretty good, lo mein is pretty good (though not my favorite). Really loved the Gui Zhou spicy chicken. Beef with green peppers is very tasty. The king pao chicken was also good. The soup dumplings are smaller and not as good when you deliver, but that's a necessity because the real ones wouldn't stay in tact on the trip. They're still good delivered but I highly recommend dining in to have them.
Went there on my lunch break hoping to have a nice lunch away from work, given that I always eat in. I had a terrible lunch, first the menu says that they have daily lunch specials it doesn’t say no weekends and they wouldn’t serve me it unless it was ordered to-go, I was disappointed. I still stayed there to order the steamed dumplings they informed me after I had already put in the order it would take 20 mins to prep. So I waited and also ordered the Diced fried fish, it was one the worst foods I’ve ever eaten, very dry, fried with hot peppers. The menu didn’t specify the ingredients. I ended up leaving super angry due that I still had to pay very pricey meal I didn’t eat nor enjoy.
I normally go for lunch special menu because the price is just perfect for daily meal. My favorite dish here is the fish fillet spicy soup (not the lunch special). Everyone who tried it liked it so far! Only thing you would need to be aware of is to check the take out order because sometimes they mixed up when it’s busy and do the wrong order.
Really friendly, quick, and great local Szechuan spot. While not on Szechuan row, this place makes several dishes really well and even makes it extra mala for me when I ask. I order here usually at least once, sometimes twice a week. I really like: -ChongQing Spicy Chicken -Parched Chicken with Three Pepper -Gui Zhou spicy Chicken -Spicy Whole Green Pepper I am less of a fan of their cucumber salad and their mapo tofu, but plenty of other dishes to keep me happy. If you like spice, I recommend you skip the American Chinese Food and try something off the special dishes menu, which is primarily Sichuan style food.
I just ordered their version of "La zi ji" the fried chicken pieces with spicy chilies and I kid you not, half of it was just the dried chilies and peanuts (which you can see, I fished out). It wasn't even spicy at all and I love spicy. Had I known they put peanuts in it, I wouldn't have gotten it. Was better off ordering it in Queens where my friend orders his. Absolute disappointment.
