Based on recent customer feedback, the experience at Grand International Buffet appears to be somewhat mixed. One reviewer noted that the food quality was generally standard, with some items exceeding average expectations. The service staff was commended for being nice and attentive, contributing positively to the overall dining experience. However, this reviewer also pointed out a significant issue with the buffet area's layout. The self-service area was described as crowded, likely due to the restaurant's spatial arrangement. Additionally, there were instances of food refills overflowing into adjacent food trays, which could be a concern for food presentation and hygiene. The reviewer suggested that a redesign of the buffet area with more spacing could enhance the customer experience, particularly noting the tight space between the food and the customers.

Another customer raised a critical concern regarding the preparation of specific items, notably the crab legs. According to this review, the crab legs were being kept in boiling water at the buffet, resulting in a waterlogged taste and a ruined, overcooked texture. This reviewer expressed strong disappointment with this particular aspect of the buffet, questioning the culinary approach. Regarding the other dishes, the feedback was less enthusiastic, with many described as "meh" or bland, including the shrimp. However, this same reviewer highlighted a positive aspect of their meal, specifically praising the chocolate mousse cake as "amazing," indicating that there might be some standout items among the buffet offerings.

These reviews provide insights into potential strengths and weaknesses of the Grand International Buffet. The attentive service staff is a noted positive, while the layout and potential overcrowding of the buffet area, as well as concerns about the preparation and flavor of certain dishes like the crab legs and other main courses, appear to be areas for potential improvement.

Grand International Buffet's location on US-6 in Grand Junction offers accessibility for both local residents and those passing through the area. As a buffet-style restaurant, it typically offers a wide array of options, potentially including appetizers, main courses featuring various meats, seafood, and vegetables, as well as sides, soups, and desserts. The "international" aspect of the name suggests that the buffet might include dishes beyond traditional Chinese cuisine, although the extent of this is not detailed in the provided reviews.

The features of a buffet restaurant generally include the ability to sample a variety of dishes at a fixed price. This can be appealing to those who enjoy trying different foods or who are dining with a group that has diverse preferences. However, the quality and freshness of food in a buffet setting can sometimes be a concern, as highlighted by the reviews regarding overcooked seafood and bland dishes.

The food was standard with some items going above average. The servers were nice and quite attentive. The self-service buffet area was crowded due to the layout of the restaurant itself. The food refills sometimes overflowed into the trays of other foods. I think a re-spacing of the buffet area itself would lend to a better experience for customers. The space between the food and customers was very tight.

The staff is keeping the crab legs in boiling water at the buffet. So it is not shocking to know that they tasted like boiled water and the texture was ruined due to overcooking. Who is the head chef and why are they ruining crab legs? The rest of the dishes were meh/bland, even the shrimp. The chocolate mouse cake was amazing.

Everything was delicious. On a one to five, it was a 10. The only thing I didn’t see was the sushi, but otherwise it was perfect. The garlic green beans are to die for…

4/3/25 - I decided to give this this place a try even though I had already read their reviews. Whelp, I should have listened to the reviews. I regularly leave restaurant reviews, so I often want to gather my own opinion. The reviews are correct. The food selection is "okay" at best. They do not have beef with broccoli, and I thought that was a staple at all buffets. The only meat selction that was beef was some type of spicy beef dish that was spicy but had no flavor. The chicken with broccoli was good, but not great. The wonton soup was bland and lacked flavor. The spring rolls were soggy and cold. I should have brought a thermometer because I dont think their food was within the food safe range. They have an entire buffet station with American food, but I didnt pay $21+ for pizza and mac and cheese. I expected there to be a bigger selection and more options. Don't expect eat crab legs, just like the reviews say, there are crab leg hoarders. Everytime they bring out a fresh batch of 5-6 clusters, someone comes along and piles up their plate. I watched a couple tag team the crab legs several times during my visit. What was even worse was they were making it a point to grab the clusters that were still in tact, pulled off the legs, and left the main meat to be thrown away. What a waste... none the less, I don't live here, so there is no need to return. It's not bad, but not worth the money in my opinion. This was a scenario where I should have listened to the reviews. The people that rate this place with 5 stars must not have taste buds or are the crab legs hoarders that sat across from me.

Food is fine, price was great for lunch buffet. But! Tell your employees not to touch people's babies!!!! Especially with gloves on because they've been cleaning! Disgusting! I know it's probably a cultural thing, but good grief, should be common sense.
