Grand China is a Chinese restaurant located at 6631 Mayfield Rd in Cleveland, Ohio (zip code 44124), USA. Based on recent customer feedback available online, experiences at Grand China appear to be quite negative, with reviewers expressing significant dissatisfaction with both the food quality and the accuracy of their orders, as well as the overall condition of the premises. One customer, who ordered fried chicken and rice, found the cost to be reasonable but the quality to be "terrible." They described the chicken as "gooey, chewy, and not quality at all," contrary to the expectation of being deep-fried. This reviewer also described the restaurant's physical condition as a "dump" and found the rice to be "horrible." They mentioned being accustomed to better Chinese restaurants and noted the lack of other customers during their visit, stating that they now understood why. This customer, who was visiting from out of state, expressed regret over their choice and indicated they would not return.
Another customer shared a negative experience with a takeout order of ham fried rice. They specifically requested the addition of scrambled egg and green onions to their order. While the menu listed a price of $6.50 for the ham fried rice and $1 for two cans of soda, leading to an expected total of $8.50 without the special requests, they were charged $10.95. Upon arriving at their destination to eat, they discovered that not only were the green onions missing, but the scrambled egg was also absent from their order. Furthermore, they found the taste of the ham fried rice to be "very bland," which ultimately ruined their appetite.
Considering these two recent reviews, there are significant concerns raised about multiple aspects of Grand China. The first review highlights issues with the quality and preparation of a basic dish like fried chicken and rice, as well as a severely negative impression of the restaurant's environment. The second review points to problems with order accuracy, unexpected pricing, and the bland taste of another staple dish, ham fried rice. The fact that both reviews are overwhelmingly negative suggests a pattern of subpar food quality and potentially unreliable service.
As a Chinese restaurant offering both dine-in and takeout, Grand China likely has a menu featuring a range of common Chinese dishes, including fried rice variations and fried chicken. Fried rice is a fundamental dish in Chinese cuisine, typically made with rice stir-fried with ingredients such as meat, vegetables, and eggs. Fried chicken, while perhaps more common in American cuisine, is also found in some Chinese restaurants, often prepared with specific sauces or seasonings. The negative feedback on both these types of dishes at Grand China is particularly concerning, as they are often considered foundational offerings.
For local users in Cleveland and the surrounding areas considering Grand China, the available recent feedback strongly suggests exercising caution. The reviews highlight significant issues with food quality, order accuracy, and even the cleanliness or upkeep of the establishment. The discrepancy in pricing for a customized order without the requested items being included is also a serious concern regarding transparency and customer service. Potential customers should be aware of these negative experiences shared by others.
Given the limited positive information and the strongly negative nature of the recent reviews, it is difficult to ascertain any positive aspects regarding the environment, services, or features of Grand China. No promotional information was included in the provided text. Therefore, local users who might still be considering Grand China should be aware of the substantial negative feedback concerning their food and service. It would be advisable to seek more recent and potentially a broader range of reviews before making a decision to dine at or order from this establishment. Alternatively, exploring other Chinese restaurant options in the Cleveland area with more positive and consistent feedback might be a more prudent choice.
In conclusion, recent customer reviews for Grand China in Cleveland, OH, paint a concerning picture regarding food quality, order accuracy, and the overall condition of the restaurant. Potential local customers should carefully consider this feedback, which includes descriptions of poorly prepared fried chicken and rice, bland and incomplete ham fried rice orders, unexpected pricing, and a negative assessment of the restaurant's environment. Based on this information, exercising caution and potentially exploring alternative Chinese dining options in the area would be a reasonable approach.

Customer Reviews
The cost for fried chicken and rice was good, but the quality was terrible. This was supposed to be deep fried and it was gooey, chewy and not quality at all. The place is a dump and the rice was horrible. I have been spoiled I guess by good Chinese restaurants. only 1 customer came in while I was there. Now I know why. I was from out of state and didn't know what I was doing obviously.
Ordered ham fried rice and asked for scrambled egg and green onions be added. Price on menu listed $6.50 and two cans of pop at $1. Price expected without special requests $8.50 but paid $10.95. Arrived at destination to eat, not only no green onions but no egg either. Tasted very bland and appetite ruined.
I went twice, and both times I had to go back because something was missing. The food is good, but please check your order before leaving.
TLDR-*Randomly closes after you place an order then denies a refund, overly greasy egg roll, bland rice, rubbery "chicken". Unappetizing- I threw it all away* First of all, I arrived to pick my online order up (7pm) and saw the lights were turned off as well as the "open" sign. An elderly man could be seen way in the back, apparently cooking on the flat top.I called immediately and there was no answer. I knocked on the window. No acknowledgment. Since I was doing laundry next door I made repeated attempts via calling and banging on the window. After 30 minutes a lady also showed up trying to pick up her order and he finally came to the window and said "we're closed". I told him I placed an order online, and asked for a refund if they are closed. He laughed and said no refund! At this point I'm fuming and decided to call the police- they tell me dispute the charge with the bank. Fine, I guess. Luckily as I was loading up laundry I noticed the lights were back on (8pm). A female said she'll make my food in 5 minutes. She apologized for being closed and said "had to get my kids". The food by the way was terrible-house rice was bland, grease dripping off the egg roll and seeping out, chicken rubbery and the consistency/texture of chewing a sponge. Just no.
The service needs some improvements. A smile would be a great addition. But food exceeded my expectations. Good stuff!
