About Grand China

Welcome to Grand China, a Chinese restaurant located at 2608 Allen Blvd, Middleton, WI 53562, USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Middleton area, Grand China offers a variety of dishes that fall under the category of Chinese cuisine. They can be contacted at (608) 827-7880 or their mobile number, +1 608-827-7880, for inquiries or to place orders for takeout or to inquire about dine-in options.

Based on the available customer feedback online, Grand China appears to have a loyal customer base, with some patrons having been visiting for years. One long-time customer described it as a "small, hole in the wall place with great food and super friendly staff." This reviewer specifically praised the egg rolls and pork fried rice as being "some of the best I've ever had." While they noted that the crab rangoons could be better, they felt that the overall quality of the food and the portion sizes compensated for this. They also consistently found the service to be fast, and the food to be fresh and hot, indicating a reliable and positive experience. This customer stated they stop at Grand China whenever they have the chance.

However, another recent review expressed a growing concern about the restaurant becoming "real stingy" with certain ingredients. This regular customer, who claims to spend "good money" at Grand China, specifically mentioned their disappointment with the beef fried rice, stating that they received only five pieces of beef. Acknowledging that beef can be expensive, this reviewer still expected a more substantial amount of meat for the price paid and felt that as a regular customer, they should be treated accordingly. They contrasted this with the apparent generosity with pork in other dishes and warned that they would discontinue their patronage if this issue with the beef portion was not addressed, emphasizing that it was "not okay" and they wanted their "money worth."

The environment of Grand China is described by one reviewer as a "small, hole in the wall place," suggesting a casual and perhaps unassuming setting. This type of establishment often focuses more on the quality of the food and service rather than elaborate decor. The long-term loyalty of one customer indicates that the atmosphere is likely comfortable and welcoming, especially given the mention of "super friendly staff." However, the second review does not provide any additional insights into the ambiance of the restaurant.

In terms of services, Grand China appears to primarily offer takeout and potentially dine-in, given the description of it as a "place" that customers visit. The positive reviewer mentioned consistently fast service, which likely applies to both takeout orders and dine-in experiences. The availability of phone numbers suggests that phone orders for takeout are accepted. There is no explicit mention of delivery services in the provided reviews, so local users interested in delivery would need to inquire directly with the restaurant.

The features of Grand China, based on the reviews, include well-regarded egg rolls and pork fried rice, which one long-time customer considers to be among the best they have ever tasted. The portion sizes are also mentioned as being satisfactory, helping to compensate for any perceived shortcomings in specific dishes like the crab rangoons. The consistency of fast, fresh, and hot food is also a notable feature highlighted by a loyal customer. However, a potential negative feature emerging is the perceived stinginess with the amount of beef in the beef fried rice, which has become a concern for at least one regular patron.

Promotional information is not provided in the given reviews. It is unknown if Grand China offers any specials, lunch deals, or other promotions to attract customers. Those interested in such offers would need to contact the restaurant directly.

The two available customer reviews for Grand China offer contrasting perspectives. One highlights the positive aspects of great food (especially egg rolls and pork fried rice), friendly staff, fast service, and good portion sizes, leading to years of loyal patronage. The other review raises a significant concern about the consistency in ingredient portions, specifically regarding the amount of beef in the beef fried rice, and threatens to discontinue patronage if this issue is not resolved. This suggests a potential recent change or a lack of consistency that is affecting the experience of some regular customers.

For local users in Middleton, particularly those residing near Allen Boulevard, Grand China is an accessible Chinese restaurant option for takeout and potentially dine-in. If you value friendly service and have a fondness for well-made egg rolls and pork fried rice, the positive review might be appealing. However, the recent complaint about stinginess with beef portions is a factor to consider, especially for those who frequently order beef dishes.

Given the mixed feedback, potential new customers might want to try a smaller order initially to assess the food quality and portion sizes for themselves. Regular customers, especially those who order beef fried rice, might want to inquire about the portion sizes before placing their order. It could also be beneficial to mention any concerns about ingredient portions when ordering.

To obtain the most current information about their menu, hours of operation, delivery options (if any), and any current specials, as well as to address the concerns raised about ingredient portions, please contact Grand China directly at (608) 827-7880 or +1 608-827-7880. They will be able to provide you with the most accurate details and their perspective on the recent feedback.

In conclusion, Grand China in Middleton, WI, has generally received positive feedback for its great food, friendly staff, and fast service, with particular praise for its egg rolls and pork fried rice. However, a recent concern has been raised by a regular customer regarding the potentially stingy portions of beef in the beef fried rice. Local users should consider both the positive long-term experiences and the recent concerns about consistency when deciding whether to patronize Grand China.

Been coming here for years. Small, hole in the wall place with great food and super friendly staff. The egg rolls and pork fried rice are some of the best I've ever had. Wish the crab rangoons were better but the rest of the food and portion sizes make up for that. Always fast, always fresh and hot. Stop here any chance I get.

Really starting to be real stingy. I know beef is expensive but if I pay my money I want some beef in my rice .I don't appreciate having five pieces of meat in my beef fried rice I'm a regular I spend good money treat me accordingly. I will not continue to come here if y'all don't get it together.Thats not okay .Y'all practically give that pork away but when it comes to the beef y'all being very stingy I want my money worth .

Grand China has changed. It will no longer be our goto carryout. While food was hot and ready when promised, that is where the positives end. The egg rolls were filled with little more than bok choy. Our biggest disappointment came with the Egg Foo Yung..The new gravy is a sodium- ladden, dark colored, sickly-sweet sauce, not the yummy gravy that formerly came with this dish for more than 15 years. The paddies were greasy and lacking in the usual flavor.

5 star Chinese food? No, but they’re super fast and the food is consistent. The shrimp dishes are actually better than average for a cheap, fast, Americanized Chinese restaurant (the shrimp are big and properly cooked!). My wife likes it better than Taigu (I disagree) but happy wife = happy life so this is our go-to when “Let’s get Chinese” is the answer to “What’s for dinner”.

Although it's not really fried rice, this actually tastes better. Great portion size and best tasting restaurant I've had so far since moving to Wisconsin 6 weeks ago. I am picky but this was pretty good. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the flavor was a bit mellow. Could've used some more garlic. That said, I was apprehensive but in the end not disappointed and they will see me again. The Cashew Shrimp/Chicken was generous in size and delicious.
