About Grand Buffet

Grand Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 4950 Centre Pointe Dr in North Charleston, South Carolina. As a Chinese buffet, it offers an all-you-can-eat dining experience with a variety of dishes. They can be reached at (843) 746-9978 or +1 843-746-9978 for inquiries about their offerings and hours.

Recent customer reviews regarding Grand Buffet paint a concerning picture regarding food quality and hygiene. One reviewer described the food as generally dry, noting that they had to use a significant amount of duck sauce to make the fried chicken palatable, despite it being crispy. They also mentioned that the buffalo chicken was served cold. This same reviewer did note an improvement during dinner hours when the seafood was refreshed, indicating that food freshness might be an issue at certain times.

Another customer shared a significantly more alarming experience, stating that while they used to enjoy the restaurant, their recent visits had been characterized by cold and undercooked food. Most disturbingly, on a recent occasion, they reported finding a dead roach in their food. They recounted that their boyfriend initially mistook it for a burnt onion until it was turned over and identified. Despite this shocking discovery, the restaurant allegedly still charged them for their drinks and their boyfriend's meal. This customer emphatically stated that this would be their last visit, expressing sadness at the perceived decline of the establishment.

Based on this limited but recent feedback, there are serious concerns regarding the quality, temperature, and hygiene of the food served at Grand Buffet. The report of finding a roach in the food is a critical health and safety issue that potential customers should be aware of. The complaints about dry and cold food also suggest potential problems with food preparation and holding practices.

The information available does not provide details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance, beyond the implication of a buffet-style setup with steam tables. Similarly, specific services offered, beyond the all-you-can-eat model, are not mentioned. There is no information regarding any special features or promotional offers at Grand Buffet.

Given the severity of the issues raised in the recent reviews, local users in North Charleston should exercise extreme caution when considering dining at Grand Buffet. The reported lack of food freshness, serving of cold items, and, most critically, the alleged presence of a roach in the food are significant red flags. These issues suggest potential problems with food handling, preparation, and overall cleanliness within the establishment.

While one reviewer noted a refreshing of the seafood during dinner hours, this does not mitigate the other serious concerns raised. The fact that a customer was still charged for parts of their meal after finding a roach in their food also points to a lack of appropriate customer service and concern for food safety on the part of the restaurant management.

In the absence of any positive recent feedback or information suggesting improvements, the available reviews strongly advise against patronizing Grand Buffet at this time. The potential health risks associated with the reported conditions outweigh any perceived benefits of an affordable buffet. Local users seeking a Chinese buffet experience in North Charleston may want to explore alternative options with more consistently positive reviews regarding food quality, cleanliness, and customer service.

In conclusion, recent customer feedback for Grand Buffet in North Charleston, SC, raises significant concerns about food quality, temperature, and hygiene, including an alarming report of a roach being found in the food. Potential customers are strongly advised to consider these serious issues before deciding to dine at this establishment. The lack of positive recent feedback and the severity of the reported problems suggest that Grand Buffet may not currently offer a safe or satisfactory dining experience.

Food is dry. Had to use lots of duck sauce on fried chicken because it was so dry. But chicken was crispy though. Buffalo chicken was cold. Once dinner hours came they refreshed the food, well at least the seafood, so the seafood was no longer sitting in dried out pans but actually in some juice.

I use to love this place but the last few time I have went the food has been cold and undercooked. But as of recently I went and found a roach in the food. My boyfriend and I were eating and he pointed out something on my plate he thought it was a burnt onion until I turned it around and saw it was a dead roach. They still charged me for drinks and his meal. This is the very last time I’ll ever come back. Sad to see a good place gone bad!

Absolutely terrible food. The rice taste old, the plantains taste old and stale. Overall terrible.

Well seasoned food. Selection was good. Mussels were delicious. Chicken wings were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Egg roll was good also. Nice that they also have a salad bar, fresh fruit, dessert, and ice cream if you like. We went at dinner time on a Saturday and everything was fresh.

I'll start with the only good thing I can say, and that's they kept our drinks full. I came in with a group of 8 around 8:30 to a restaurant at least half filled, so I didn't realize anything was wrong until we were sat and went to the buffet to make plates. Almost every pan was either empty or had only 2 or 3 servings of food left, which was disappointing, but we figured they must've been hit hard before we arrived and was just in the process of making more. Needless to say, we were wrong. The only things they replenished while we stayed and ate scraps were a small pan of sesame chicken(not enough for even all 8 of us to get a single scoop each, some fried rice, half cooked ribs(all fat, no meat), and a noodle dish. I'd just like to say besides the chewy ribs that what we were able to scrap up was good, but considering we were all super hungry, that's not saying much. I feel it could have definitely been better, especially for $20 a person with a drink and also the fact the restaurant was at least half filled with other customers besides just us so the food wouldn't have been wasted either.
