About Gourmet Garden 8

Gourmet Garden 8 is a unique establishment located at 108 DeKalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA. This restaurant falls under the Chinese Restaurant category but offers a distinctive twist by also serving Mexican cuisine, presenting a fusion of two seemingly disparate culinary traditions under one roof. They can be contacted at (718) 246-5533 or via mobile at +1 718-246-5533 for inquiries or orders.

Based on the limited recent customer feedback available, Gourmet Garden 8 appears to offer a mixed experience. One reviewer highlighted the intriguing concept of having both Chinese and Mexican food options in one place, suggesting this as a significant and potentially appealing feature for those looking for variety or catering to a group with diverse culinary preferences. This reviewer specifically rated the General’s Chicken at 8 out of 10 and the Steak Quesadilla at 9 out of 10, indicating satisfaction with these particular dishes. This suggests that Gourmet Garden 8 may have some well-received items within both its Chinese and Mexican offerings.

However, another customer reported a less favorable experience with their order. They ordered steak and chicken nachos and grilled chicken fajitas, expressing disappointment with both. The nachos were described as lacking in cheese, with an excessive amount of black beans and jalapeños, and only a small amount of tomatoes and sour cream. This suggests an imbalance in the toppings and a potential issue with the desired ratio of ingredients in this Mexican dish.

The same customer was also highly disappointed with the grilled chicken fajitas. They described the sauce as not only watery but also bland, indicating a significant lack of flavor. This negative experience led the customer to regret not ordering from another local establishment known for its tacos, suggesting that the Mexican offerings at Gourmet Garden 8 may not consistently meet expectations, at least in this particular instance.

The contrasting experiences in these two reviews make it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Gourmet Garden 8. The positive feedback on the General’s Chicken and Steak Quesadilla suggests that the restaurant is capable of producing enjoyable dishes in both culinary styles. The novelty of offering both Chinese and Mexican food could also be a draw for certain customers.

On the other hand, the negative feedback regarding the nachos and fajitas raises concerns about the consistency and quality of some of their Mexican dishes. Issues such as a lack of cheese on nachos and a watery, bland sauce for fajitas are significant shortcomings that could deter potential customers, especially those specifically seeking authentic or well-prepared Mexican food.

The available reviews provide limited information about the environment of Gourmet Garden 8. The fact that it houses both Chinese and Mexican culinary operations under one roof suggests a potentially unique or at least adaptable space. However, there are no descriptions of the interior decor, ambiance, or seating arrangements. It is unclear whether the restaurant offers a distinct atmosphere for each type of cuisine or if it is a more unified setting. Potential customers interested in dining in might want to seek additional information or perhaps photos of the restaurant to get a better sense of its environment.

In terms of services, Gourmet Garden 8 likely offers both takeout and possibly delivery, given the context of the second review mentioning a delivery fee for another restaurant. However, the quality and reliability of their own delivery service (if offered) are not discussed in the provided feedback. It is reasonable to assume that they also provide dine-in service, given the nature of a restaurant with a physical address. The staff's service is not specifically commented on in either review, so it is difficult to assess the level of customer care provided.

The most prominent feature of Gourmet Garden 8 is undoubtedly its fusion of Chinese and Mexican cuisine. This unique concept could be a significant draw for those looking for variety or a place that can satisfy different cravings within a single order or dining experience. The positive ratings for the General’s Chicken and Steak Quesadilla suggest that they have found some success in offering quality dishes from both traditions. However, the inconsistency in the quality of the Mexican dishes, as highlighted in the negative review, could be a point of concern.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or special deals at Gourmet Garden 8. Local users interested in trying this restaurant might want to check online platforms or contact the restaurant directly to inquire about any current promotions, lunch specials, or combination deals that might be available, especially given their dual-cuisine offering. Exploring their full menu online, if available, might also provide a better sense of the range and types of dishes they offer in both Chinese and Mexican styles.

In conclusion, Gourmet Garden 8 in Brooklyn presents an intriguing and somewhat unconventional dining option by combining Chinese and Mexican cuisine. While some customers have found success with dishes like the General’s Chicken and Steak Quesadilla, others have reported significant issues with the quality and preparation of certain Mexican items, such as the nachos and fajitas. The unique fusion concept is a notable feature, but potential customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding food quality. Those interested in exploring this culinary blend may want to proceed with caution and perhaps try some of the positively reviewed items initially. Further information about the restaurant's environment, full menu, and any current promotions would be beneficial for making a more informed decision.

I ordered steak n chicken nachos. There was barely any cheese on the nachos. Just sour creme a small amount of tomatoes excessive amount of black beans and jalapeños. I also ordered grilled chicken fajitas. Im very disappointed. The sauce was not only watery but bland. I should have just paid the delivery fee for lin’s yummy taco on 52 willoughby street. The taste was off all together. Never order food when you are extremely hungry.

They use to have good food, now when you order they give you old food that has been overly cook, I ordered sweet and sour chicken and shrimp fried rice and the chicken was as hard as a rock and the rice old. To top it off they increase the price of food and put the food in a tiny tray, I’m gonna order some where else next time. The thing is these Chinese restaurants give us old food, food that they would never eat themselves and their all over the community their saying to themselves we can give them anything we’re still make money off of them. The people in the community the consumers can change that by taking our business elsewhere then they have no choice but to make better food or take your business elsewhere.

My family and I love this place. TexMex and Chinese food on the menu satisfies a large family that can never vote on the same takeout or delivery. Both cuisines are tasty. I went in to order takeout and waited 10 minutes while the lady kept answering phone calls and no one else stepped up to take our orders. This is a first. I usually order for delivery which can be a long wait on weekends.
