Based on the available customer reviews, the environment of Gourmet China appears to be welcoming and suitable for individuals and groups looking for a satisfying meal. One reviewer describes it as a "Must-Stop Spot" for those traveling between Vail and Glenwood Springs, suggesting a comfortable and perhaps familiar setting that encourages repeat visits. While specific details about the decor and ambiance are not provided, the positive remarks about the overall experience imply a functional and pleasant dining space where the focus is on the food and service.

In terms of services, Gourmet China likely offers both dine-in and takeout options, catering to different preferences and needs. The positive review mentions enjoying their meal at the restaurant, while the negative review details a pickup experience, confirming the availability of takeout. It is reasonable to assume that they also provide standard service elements such as order taking, food preparation, and payment processing. However, one of the reviews raises concerns about the customer service during a pickup, citing a prolonged wait due to the staff member being on a personal phone call and a lack of greeting. This suggests that while the food may be a highlight for some, the service experience can be inconsistent.

The features of Gourmet China, as highlighted by a positive review, include consistently excellent food with "spot on" flavors. The reviewer specifically praised the Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce and the Peking Beef. The Shredded Pork was described as tender, packed with rich, garlicky umami flavor, and well-balanced with fresh vegetables. The Peking Shredded Beef was noted for its crispiness, savory taste, and the fresh scallions that complemented it. Each of these dishes was accompanied by fluffy white rice, a crispy spring roll, and a sweet-and-sour dipping sauce, indicating a complete and satisfying meal offering.

The generous portion sizes were also mentioned as a positive feature, making Gourmet China a good value for those looking to refuel after activities like skiing or visiting hot springs. The reviewer's repeated positive experiences suggest a level of consistency in the quality and taste of their dishes, contributing to its reputation as a reliable dining option in the area.

However, it is crucial to consider the contrasting negative review, which presents a different perspective on both the food and service. This reviewer described the customer service as "horrible," detailing an experience of waiting for an extended period while the staff member was on a personal call and noting a lack of basic courtesy. Furthermore, this review found the food to be "disgusting," specifically criticizing the fried rice as being essentially white rice with minimal soy sauce and labeling the Orange Peeled Beef as a "$33" waste. This feedback raises significant concerns about the quality and preparation of certain dishes, as well as the level of customer service provided.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for restaurants to offer daily specials, lunch menus, or discounts to attract customers. To learn about any current promotions or special offers at Gourmet China, it would be advisable to check their website (if available), inquire over the phone, or look for any local advertisements they might be running.

In conclusion, Gourmet China in Eagle, CO, is a Chinese restaurant that has received mixed reviews from customers. On one hand, it is praised as a "Must-Stop Spot" with consistently excellent and flavorful dishes like the Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce and Peking Beef, along with generous portions and friendly service. This suggests that for some, Gourmet China offers a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, particularly for those traveling through the area. On the other hand, a critical review highlights significant issues with customer service and the quality of certain dishes, such as the fried rice and Orange Peeled Beef. This indicates a potential inconsistency in the overall experience.

Prospective customers should weigh these contrasting experiences when considering dining at Gourmet China. If the positive aspects of food quality and portion size are priorities, it might be worth trying. However, the reported issues with customer service and food quality in another review should also be taken into account. It may be beneficial to seek more recent reviews or perhaps try some of the specifically recommended dishes. For the most accurate information on their menu, services, and any ongoing promotions, contacting Gourmet China directly at the provided phone number is recommended.

A Must-Stop Spot Between Vail and Glenwood Springs! Every time we ski at Vail and head to Glenwood Hot Springs, stopping at Gourmet China in Eagle has become our favorite tradition. The food here is consistently excellent, and the flavors are always spot on! On our most recent visit, we enjoyed the Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce and Peking Beef—both absolutely delicious. The pork was tender and packed with rich, garlicky umami goodness, perfectly balanced with fresh vegetables. The Peking Shredded Beef was crispy, savory, and beautifully complemented by the fresh scallions on top. Each dish came with fluffy white rice, a crispy spring roll, and a sweet-and-sour dipping sauce, making for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. Beyond the fantastic food, the service is friendly, and the portions are generous. Whether you’re coming off the slopes or winding down from a day at the hot springs, Gourmet China is the perfect place to refuel with comforting, flavorful Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend! 5/5 stars—this place never disappoints!

The customer service in this place is horrible. I walked in to pick up my food the guy behind the register was on his cell phone talking for 6-7 minutes. I had to patiently wait for him to complete his conversation in order for him to proceed with my transaction .He did not greet me. The food was disgusting. The fried rice is basically white rice and a dab of Soy sauce Disgusting I had the orange peeled beef, a waste of $33.

Busy Christmas evening, yet I didn't have to wait a long time. Egg rolls and mu shu pork were excellent and serving size large enough to take home enough leftover for 2 more meals. Price very reasonable

The food was decent, exactly what you would expect going to a Chinese spot. I’m giving a 1 star review because the woman who took our order miss understood when I said my children would split orange chicken and friend rice and she accidentally brought that and chicken fried rice. No biggie, but she didn’t take it off our tab or take the food back which is what we had requested. Then, she charged us an 18% service charge for a family of four. Not sure if that’s normal, we were still going to tip but it’s so annoying when it is a mandatory charge. And 18% (including the food we did not order or eat) is enough for us to never come back!

I hate leaving bad reviews, I really do. But my lord that food was miserable. It tasted worse than frozen. The chicken was stringy, gray, and dry. The staff was very swift and genuinely sweet. Amazing service, but the food made me sick and didn't taste even decent in the process.
