About Goody Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Goody Chinese Restaurant, located at 902 E Palmetto St in Florence, South Carolina (SC 29506), USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant platform category, Goody Chinese Restaurant presents itself as a "dine in fast food Chinese restaurant," a model that aims to offer the convenience of fast service alongside the flavors of Chinese cuisine. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at Goody Chinese Restaurant appear to be somewhat varied, with some customers praising the quality of certain dishes while others have pointed out areas for potential improvement in service and food preparation.

Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Goody Chinese Restaurant distinguishes itself by its fast-food approach to dine-in service. This typically means a quicker order and delivery process compared to traditional sit-down restaurants, often appealing to customers looking for a relatively fast meal without sacrificing the taste of Chinese cuisine. The menu likely includes a range of popular Chinese-American dishes, prepared and served efficiently. The reviews mention specific items such as BBQ spare ribs, wonton soup, green tea, and hot and sour soup, providing some insight into their offerings.

The environment of Goody Chinese Restaurant is perceived by at least one customer as needing some enhancement. The suggestion to "add more decorations to make the place nicer" indicates that the current ambiance might be somewhat basic or lacking in aesthetic appeal. While cleanliness is not explicitly mentioned, the focus on fast food often implies a functional rather than elaborate setting. For local users who value a pleasant and well-decorated dining environment, this might be a consideration. However, for those prioritizing speed and the taste of the food, the ambiance might be less of a concern.

In terms of services, Goody Chinese Restaurant offers dine-in service, albeit with a fast-food model. This suggests that customers order at a counter and are likely served their food relatively quickly at their tables. One customer's experience highlighted a couple of service-related issues. The first was the lack of individually wrapped cutlery, which was a point of dissatisfaction. The second was a discrepancy in the order of BBQ spare ribs, where the customer requested a specific item (L17 for $9.35) but was sold a more expensive package ($10.95) that included fried rice and egg rolls. While the customer hoped the extra $1.60 was justified, this suggests a potential issue with order accuracy or upselling practices that might not always align with customer expectations. On a more positive note, the staff's efficiency in a fast-food setting is implied by the very nature of the model.

Several features of Goody Chinese Restaurant emerge from the customer reviews. A significant positive feature is the "good quality food that is consistently excellent tasting," as praised by one reviewer. This suggests that despite the fast-food format, the restaurant strives to maintain a high standard in the flavor and preparation of its dishes. The hot and sour soup is particularly highlighted, with one enthusiastic customer stating it is "worth driving from Charlotte to Florence for!" This strong endorsement indicates that this specific dish is a standout and a major draw for some patrons.

However, other dishes received less favorable feedback. The wonton soup was described as "tasteless" with "wonton skin too thick," indicating a potential inconsistency in the quality or preparation of their soups. The green tea was noted as "the best" part of one customer's meal, which, in the context of other criticisms, might suggest that other food items were less impressive. The BBQ spare ribs incident also points to a potential issue with order accuracy or customer communication.

The contrasting reviews paint a picture of a restaurant with some highly regarded dishes, like the hot and sour soup, but also areas where improvement might be needed, such as the wonton soup and order processing. The fast-food dine-in model offers convenience, but the service aspects, like cutlery and order accuracy, could be more consistent. The potential for a more appealing ambiance was also noted by a customer.

Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not include any details about current specials, discounts, or promotions offered by Goody Chinese Restaurant. In conclusion, Goody Chinese Restaurant in Florence, SC, offers a fast-food approach to dine-in Chinese cuisine. While it boasts some highly praised dishes like the consistently excellent hot and sour soup, other items, such as the wonton soup, have received criticism. There are also mentions of potential improvements needed in the restaurant's ambiance and certain aspects of customer service, like cutlery and order accuracy. For local users in Florence seeking a quick Chinese meal, Goody Chinese Restaurant might be worth a try, especially if the hot and sour soup appeals to them. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding other dishes and service elements. Checking for any current promotions or specials directly with the restaurant is recommended.

It's my first visit to a dine in fast food Chinese restaurant. As a Chinese, maybe I expected too much, but if the taste wasn't that good, at least they can get more stars from the service and the atmosphere. First, I didn't like the fact that the cutlery wasn't individually wrapped. Second, they were too small. Third, I ordered BBQ spare ribs and mentioned the number L17 (it's $9.35), but they sold me the package for $10.95 which included fried rice and egg rolls. Well, hopefully that $1.6 is worth it for the one star. The wonton soup was tasteless and the wonton skin was too thick. The best was the green tea. They can add more decorations to make the place nicer.

Goody Chinese Restaurant exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every detail was perfect. The food? Simply amazing! Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors. The Kung Pao Chicken was perfectly spiced, the dumplings were melt-in-your-mouth good, and the sweet and sour pork had the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or a special night out, Goody Chinese is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Top Chinese food. People who give this place a bad review have obviously never travelled or like frozen food. Their food is always excellent and big portions! My favorite place in town. Highly recommended.
