About Good Luck Chop Suey

Good Luck Chop Suey, located at 615 W Lake St, Addison, IL 60101, operates within the **Chinese Restaurant** category, primarily offering a variety of traditional Chinese-American dishes for takeout and delivery. For inquiries or to place an order, the restaurant can be reached at (630) 543-3440 or +1 630-543-3440. As a local establishment, it aims to provide convenient access to Chinese cuisine for residents of Addison and the surrounding areas.

The menu at Good Luck Chop Suey typically includes a broad selection of classic Chinese-American fare. Common offerings found at similar establishments, and likely available here, would include appetizers like **Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoons, and Fried Wontons**. For main courses, one would expect to find various **Chop Suey** and **Lo Mein** dishes, along with popular entrees such as **General Tso's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork, Beef with Broccoli, and Shrimp with Lobster Sauce**. Soup options like **Hot and Sour Soup** and **Wonton Soup** are also standard. While customer reviews mention specific dishes like **Pad Thai** and **Curry**, indicating a wider Asian influence beyond strictly Chinese cuisine, it's important to note the strong negative feedback associated with these particular items. The availability of such a diverse menu aims to cater to a wide range of tastes and preferences within the local community, emphasizing accessibility through takeout and delivery services.

The environment of Good Luck Chop Suey is not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, but the nature of a take-out and delivery focused Chinese restaurant typically suggests a functional rather than elaborate dining space. Such establishments often prioritize efficiency in the kitchen and at the counter to facilitate quick order fulfillment. The emphasis is generally on providing convenient service for customers picking up orders or receiving deliveries. While the overall ambiance of the physical location may be simple, the primary experience for many customers will be through the food consumed at home. However, it is crucial to address the significant concerns raised by customer reviews regarding cleanliness, specifically one very serious allegation of a "crushed cockroach" found in an entree. This kind of feedback directly impacts the perceived cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant's operational environment, which is a paramount concern for any food establishment. Another review describes a "rough little restaurant," which might imply an older or less polished interior.

The service aspect of Good Luck Chop Suey, based on the customer feedback, presents a mixed picture, heavily skewed towards negative experiences. While the restaurant offers the convenience of ordering food for employees and regular patronage, the severe issues reported fundamentally undermine the perceived quality of service. The discovery of a "crushed cockroach" in an entree, as described by a customer who regularly ordered from the establishment, is a critical failure in food safety and quality control. This incident not only caused the customer to state they "will no longer order food from this restaurant" but also raised serious questions about "how they maintain their kitchen." Furthermore, direct feedback on the food quality, describing Pad Thai noodles turning to "mush" and curry tasting "like spit and baby puke," points to significant inconsistencies and unacceptable culinary standards for some dishes. The sentiment of having "threw 35 dollars of food in the trash" and resorting to fast food underscores a profound dissatisfaction with the product received, regardless of how quickly an order might have been processed. This suggests that while orders might be taken and prepared, the ultimate customer satisfaction is severely compromised by issues with the food itself and, more critically, hygiene.

The features of Good Luck Chop Suey, as presented through customer feedback, highlight a significant disparity between potential offerings and actual customer experience. While it appears to be a local Chinese restaurant offering a broad menu, including some Thai-inspired dishes like Pad Thai and curry, the core features of quality and hygiene are severely questioned by recent reviews. The ability to cater to regular customers, as evidenced by weekly orders for employees, suggests a history of consistent service, but this has been critically interrupted by the reported incident of contamination. The feature of offering a wide variety of Asian dishes is overshadowed by criticisms regarding the taste and texture of specific items, with one reviewer stating, "I absolutely LOVE Asian food but holy hell this was the worst I’ve ever had." This indicates that despite the availability of a diverse menu, the execution of certain dishes may be problematic. The convenience of takeout and delivery, which is a standard feature for many Chinese restaurants, becomes less valuable if the quality and safety of the food are compromised. Therefore, the prominent features of this establishment, based on recent public information, lean towards serious concerns about food preparation and kitchen standards, rather than positive attributes.

Given the nature of the reviews, specific promotional information for Good Luck Chop Suey is not readily highlighted or would be largely overshadowed by the substantial negative feedback. Generally, Chinese restaurants offering takeout and delivery might utilize online platforms to display menus and potentially offer discounts or special combo meals. They might also engage in local advertising or loyalty programs. However, without direct information on current promotions from the restaurant itself, and in light of the severe customer complaints about food quality and hygiene, any discussion of promotional efforts would be speculative and potentially misleading. The most impactful "promotion" in this context comes from customer experiences, and the recent reviews paint a very unfavorable picture. For potential customers, the primary information to consider would be the serious concerns raised about food safety and quality rather than any potential price incentives. Therefore, an objective introduction must reflect the gravity of the issues highlighted in the customer feedback, which would naturally impact any desire to seek out promotional offers from this establishment.

By far the absolute worst meal I’ve had. The pad Thai noodles turned to mush as soon as a touched them. And the curry tasted like spit and baby puke. I’m literally not joking. I absolutely LOVE Asian food but holy hell this was the worst I’ve ever had. I threw 35 dollars of food in the trash and am going to eat McDonald’s. I wouldn’t even give this food the a homeless person that hadn’t eaten in days.

We have been ordering food from this restaurant for our employees every week, and today, when we opened one of entrees' cover, there was a crushed cockroach as the photo. This is not acceptable and tells me how they maintain their kitchen. We will no longer order food from this restaurant.

Everything else there I've had there was good like the Chinese food lunch specials and the Pad See Ew. But when I tried the red curry with chicken it was horrendous. Looked like cat food and was slimy. Was way too sweet which means they put way too much coconut milk in it. That's the only thing I will never order from there again.
