About Golden Wok

Welcome to Golden Wok, a Chinese Restaurant located at 95 Weaver Blvd, Weaverville, NC 28787, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, we aim to serve the Weaverville community with a variety of Chinese culinary options. You can reach us at (828) 645-1508 or our mobile number +1 828-645-1508 for inquiries or to place an order. Golden Wok offers both takeout services and a buffet option for our customers.

Based on the available customer reviews, the environment of Golden Wok is not explicitly detailed. However, one reviewer mentioned that lunchtime during the weekdays is "very popular with workers," suggesting that the restaurant is likely a convenient and perhaps bustling spot during these times. This could indicate a casual and efficient setting that caters to the local working community. The fact that customers choose to dine in during their lunch break implies a certain level of comfort and accessibility.

Golden Wok provides both takeout and buffet services to accommodate different dining preferences. One customer expressed a preference for ordering takeout, noting that the food seems "freshly cooked/rolled." This suggests that our takeout options are prepared to order and valued for their freshness. However, this reviewer also mentioned that the pickup times tend to be longer than suggested, indicating a potential area for improvement in our order fulfillment process. The availability of a buffet caters to those who enjoy a wider selection and the flexibility of serving themselves.

Customer feedback on the food quality at Golden Wok presents a mixed picture. One reviewer who ordered takeout described the food as "pretty decent overall," alongside "good service." This suggests that some customers have had positive experiences with our food, particularly the takeout items which are perceived as freshly prepared. However, another review paints a significantly less favorable picture, stating that the food was "not fresh," "so greasy," and "tough." This negative experience was shared by a group of five people, none of whom enjoyed their meal. This stark contrast in reviews indicates a potential inconsistency in food quality or preparation.

Regarding service, the second reviewer reported a negative experience, mentioning that their party was never offered refills, despite all having water. This lack of attentiveness contributed to their overall dissatisfaction, as they reportedly drank their water instead of eating the food. In contrast, the first reviewer who ordered takeout described the service as "pretty decent overall," suggesting that service quality may vary depending on the circumstances or whether it's dine-in versus takeout.

The feature of offering both a buffet and takeout is a notable aspect of Golden Wok. Buffets can be appealing for their variety and the ability to sample different dishes. However, the negative review concerning food freshness raises concerns about the quality of the buffet offerings on the day of that customer's visit. The positive comment about the freshness of takeout items suggests that this might be a more reliable option for those concerned about food quality.

Currently, there is no information provided in the reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at Golden Wok. Given the mixed feedback on food and service, any promotional efforts would likely aim to attract new customers and encourage repeat business by highlighting improvements in quality or value. Local users interested in potential specials or discounts are advised to contact Golden Wok directly at (828) 645-1508 to inquire about any current offers.

In conclusion, Golden Wok in Weaverville, NC, is a Chinese restaurant offering both takeout and buffet options. Customer reviews present a varied perspective, with some praising the freshness of takeout and the overall decent food and service, while others report significant issues with food freshness, greasiness, and service attentiveness during a dine-in experience. The popularity of the restaurant during weekday lunch hours with workers suggests it may be a convenient option for some. However, potential customers should be aware of the contrasting feedback regarding food quality and service consistency. For the most accurate information on current promotions or to inquire about the menu, please contact Golden Wok directly. We encourage local users to consider these varied experiences when making their dining decisions.

I like ordering takeout. Freshly cooked/rolled. Haven't been much of a buffet person recently. They do tend to take more time than the Suggested pick up time. But overall pretty decent food and service. Lunchtime during the weekdays is very popular with workers.

The food was not fresh, it was so greasy and tough. There are 5 of us and none of us enjoyed this meal. They never brought us refills but we all had water. And we drank it instead of eating… Do not recommend this place at all!!! NASTY NASTY NASTY!!!

2 giant to-go boxes for 29$? Sure, great deal for the quality of food and amount. Lots of things empty or a little old looking, sometimes dry. But the flavor is good and I haven’t gotten food poisoning going here before so I think it’s fine enough, just don’t order soup because I came here awhile ago, ordered, and got a fly in it, named the fly Harold but couldn’t bring myself to eat the soup. Crab Rangoon and spring rolls are absolutely great though, lo mein too. Love the coffee cakes but there was none when I went awhile ago. Cool gift shop too with cute knickknacks One tip, do NOT use the bathroom there it is absolutely DISGUSTING I felt like a symbiote was going to come out of the toilet to eat me alive.

I like many others who have written a review of this place have been here many times, trying to see if it gets any better, sadly, its getting worse. My mom and I always go on Wednesday nights at dinner time, 6:30-7:30 ish. The food is often dried up and hard, even the noodles, from sitting on the buffet under the lights for too long. A lot of items are just empty and might get refilled, but generally not. I have ask a few times for fresher food, only to have the lady, who i think is the owner, stir what it already there and tell me that "its good". I commented with NO this isn't good, its old. No reply an no fresh food brought out. There is mold growing at the back, emergency exit, all over the top of the door and the walls. The sanitation grade is only a 90, ouch! The younger guy who is the only server there, does a great job, he is always talking on his cell phone via ear bud, but we never run out of drinks and our dirty plates are cleared right away. We will be taking a long break from going here in hopes that it will get better.

The vibe of the restaurant brought me back to the early 2000s Chinese restaurants. The service was terrible and the food was even worse. Very hard to find good Chinese take out in the mountains of NC
