About Golden Wok

Welcome to Golden Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 1781 Patrick Dr, Burlington, KY 41005, USA, serving the local community within the Chinese Restaurant category. Golden Wok can be contacted at (859) 689-1888 or +1 859-689-1888 for orders and inquiries. According to a sign displayed upon entry, this establishment makes claims regarding the freshness and quality of its food, a point that at least one reviewer corroborated.

Information regarding the specific ambiance or interior environment of Golden Wok is limited in the provided reviews. One positive review focuses solely on the food quality and taste, without mentioning the dining atmosphere. In contrast, a negative review primarily details the takeout experience, from the phone order to the food itself, also omitting any description of the restaurant's physical environment. Therefore, local users seeking information about the dine-in atmosphere will need to consider that this aspect is not covered in the available feedback.

Golden Wok primarily offers takeout services, as detailed in one of the reviews. The experience with their phone order process was notably negative for one customer, who described the person taking the order as "rude" and "rushed." This individual also reported not being informed of the total cost over the phone and only discovering it upon arrival for pickup. This suggests a potential inconsistency in their phone service etiquette. However, another reviewer who praised the food did not comment on the service aspect, indicating that service quality might vary or that their experience was satisfactory.

Golden Wok presents a mix of features, according to customer experiences. A significant positive feature highlighted by one reviewer is the perceived freshness and quality of their ingredients, aligning with the restaurant's own claims. This reviewer also lauded the "solid portions" and described the food as "always yummy," specifically mentioning having "the best fried rice I have had in a long time!" This suggests that their fried rice is a standout dish for some customers. Another dish receiving high praise in a separate review is the Bourbon Chicken, described as "really good," flavorful, well-cooked, with a "nice balance of sweetness and smokiness." This indicates that their Bourbon Chicken is another potential highlight of their menu.

However, not all dishes received positive feedback. The Lo Mein was described as "extremely disappointing" due to overcooked, mushy noodles and a complete lack of seasoning and flavor. The Crab Rangoons were deemed "just okay," lacking the rich, creamy filling expected of a great rendition of this appetizer. Similarly, the Egg Rolls were considered "nothing special" and not worth the price paid. The significant price of $50 for two meals, including these less impressive sides, was a major point of dissatisfaction for one customer, who felt it was "way too high for what we got."

Currently, there is no explicit promotional information available in the provided reviews. The mention of "solid portions" in a positive review could be seen as an implicit value proposition, suggesting that customers receive a substantial amount of food for their money. However, the negative review regarding the high price for the perceived quality and quantity of food complicates this aspect. Without any specific discounts, special offers, or advertised promotions, local users will need to base their decisions on the available, albeit mixed, feedback regarding food quality and pricing.

In conclusion, Golden Wok in Burlington, KY, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. While one reviewer highly praised the freshness and quality of the food, particularly the fried rice, and found the portions to be solid, another customer experienced significant disappointment with several dishes, including the Lo Mein, Crab Rangoons, and Egg Rolls, and felt the overall price was excessive for the quality received. The Bourbon Chicken appears to be another dish that is well-regarded. The service experience also seems to vary, with one report of rude and rushed phone service. Local users considering Golden Wok should weigh these contrasting experiences, noting the positive feedback on specific items like fried rice and Bourbon Chicken against the criticisms of other dishes and service aspects. As there is no specific promotional information, decisions will likely be based on individual preferences for the types of dishes praised versus those criticized.

The food here is different compared to other Chinese resturants. There is a sign right when you come in making claims on freshness, and quality and I have to agree. Solid portions and the food is always yummy and quite frankly the best fried rice I have had in a long time!

I decided to try out this Chinese restaurant after seeing some positive reviews, but my experience was far from what I expected. My order was for takeout, and the interaction over the phone should have been my first red flag. The woman taking my order was rude, rushed me through the call, and didn’t even tell me the total—just said it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I arrived to pick up the food, I was shocked to find that the total was $50 for just two meals, which included egg rolls and crab rangoons. That price felt way too high for what we got, but at that point, I was already there and just hoped the food would be worth it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Lo Mein: Extremely disappointing. The noodles were way overcooked, making them mushy, and the dish itself was completely bland—no seasoning, no flavor, just a pile of tasteless noodles. Fried Rice: One of the few redeeming parts of the meal. It had good flavor and was cooked well. Bourbon Chicken: Actually really good. It was flavorful, well-cooked, and had a nice balance of sweetness and smokiness. If anything, this was the highlight of the meal. Crab Rangoons: Just okay. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either—about a 6/10. They lacked the rich, creamy filling that makes a great crab rangoon. Egg Rolls: Nothing special. Definitely not worth the inflated price.

Great service. The family are all awesome. Best bourbon chicken anywhere. Everything was and always is great. Love their BBQ ribs, they are in this vinegar sauce... absolutely delicious.

The chicken fried rice was just okay nothing special and the peas, I think they were frozen. The hot sauce for the chicken fried rice was not that great it didn't even have a spicy good taste to it just a harsh spice The sweet and sour chicken is a better choice

I ordered one of the House Specials, Teriyaki Chicken. It had nothing special about it. The chicken tasted like week old, over cooked nuggets. Also, my parent’s dinners were absolutely a waste of money. All 3 ‘Dinners for One’, were actually dinner for none. Nothing is golden here and I will not be back to waste $40.
