About Golden Wok
Golden Wok is a Chinese restaurant situated at 1062 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville, MN 55337, USA, operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant." They can be contacted at (952) 431-9998 or via their mobile number +1 952-431-9998. Based on recent customer reviews available online, the experiences at Golden Wok appear to be quite varied, with feedback ranging from positive mentions of specific dishes to significant dissatisfaction with others, and even a concerning report of a safety issue experienced by a delivery driver.
One customer who ordered a variety of dishes provided a mixed review of their meal. They found the "Mongolian beef" to be "good," which is a positive note for those considering this particular dish. However, their feedback on the rest of their order was largely negative, leading them to state that they "wouldn’t suggest" other items. A major disappointment for this reviewer was the "fried rice," which they felt was not authentic, stating, "Fried rice isn’t fried rice and was the biggest disappointment." This suggests a significant deviation from the expected preparation or quality of this common Chinese dish.
The same reviewer also commented on the "sweet and sour chicken," describing the chicken pieces as "tiny" and the sauce as "eh," an interjection indicating a lack of enthusiasm or satisfaction. This suggests that this popular dish did not meet their expectations in terms of both the quantity of chicken and the quality of the sauce. In addition to these, the order included "sesame chicken" and "chicken udon," neither of which received any positive or negative comments, implying they were perhaps unremarkable or did not stand out to the reviewer. The only dish from their order that they would consider having again was the "cream cheese wontons," which they positively noted. Ultimately, based on their overall experience, this customer concluded that they "won’t be visiting again," indicating a significant level of dissatisfaction with their meal.
Another review came from a delivery driver who had two separate experiences at Golden Wok. The first visit, as a driver, was reported as having "great service, quick and friendly!" This suggests that at least some interactions with staff can be positive and efficient, particularly in the context of order pickup for delivery. However, the driver's second experience was dramatically different and deeply concerning. While waiting at the restaurant, "some dude showed up before threatening me, cursing me out, then kicking me out of the store." The driver explicitly stated that this occurred while they were waiting, implying they were there in a professional capacity to pick up an order.
Following this alarming incident, the delivery driver expressed serious reservations about the safety of the establishment, stating, "If this is something that just happens for no reason, then I would not recommend this place to anyone. Be careful if you do." This review raises significant safety concerns for anyone, whether customers or service providers, who might visit Golden Wok. The fact that such a threatening incident reportedly occurred without provocation is deeply troubling and could understandably deter people from patronizing the restaurant.
Considering these two reviews, the overall picture of Golden Wok is quite negative. While the Mongolian beef and cream cheese wontons received positive mentions from one customer, the significant disappointment with the fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and the lack of comment on the sesame chicken and chicken udon suggest inconsistency in food quality. More seriously, the reported threatening behavior experienced by a delivery driver raises serious questions about the safety and environment of the establishment.
Due to the nature of the feedback, particularly the safety concern raised by the delivery driver, it is difficult to objectively describe the environment of Golden Wok in a positive light. The reviews do not provide details about the interior decor or ambiance for dine-in customers. The focus is primarily on the food quality for takeout and a disturbing incident involving a non-customer behaving aggressively within the premises.
The services offered by Golden Wok include food preparation for takeout and likely dine-in, given its categorization as a restaurant with a physical address. They also appear to work with delivery services, as indicated by the delivery driver's reviews. However, the positive initial service experienced by the driver was overshadowed by the subsequent threatening encounter, making it difficult to assess the reliability or safety of their service interactions.
In terms of features, the only potential positive feature highlighted is the taste of their Mongolian beef and cream cheese wontons. However, this is counterbalanced by the negative feedback on other standard Chinese dishes. The reported safety issue would undoubtedly be a significant negative feature that could outweigh any perceived positives for many potential customers.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Therefore, we cannot comment on any special offers, discounts, or other incentives that Golden Wok might be offering.
In conclusion, the recent customer feedback for Golden Wok in Burnsville, MN, presents a concerning picture. While their Mongolian beef and cream cheese wontons may be satisfactory, there are significant issues reported with other dishes, particularly the fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Most alarmingly, the threatening experience reported by a delivery driver raises serious safety concerns about the establishment's environment. Potential local users should be aware of these recent negative experiences and the safety warning when considering whether to patronize Golden Wok.

Customer Reviews
The Mongolian beef was good; the rest I wouldn’t suggest. Fried rice isn’t fried rice and was the biggest disappointment. The sweet and sour chicken pieces were tiny and the sauce was eh. We also ordered sesame chicken, chicken udon, and cream cheese wontons. Cream cheese wontons would be the only one I’d eat again. Won’t be visiting again.
Been here twice as a delivery driver. First time was great service, quick and friendly! Second time while waiting, some dude showed up before threatening me, cursing me out, then kicking me out of the store. If this is something that just happens for no reason, then I would not recommend this place to anyone. Be careful if you do.
When I ordered, the person did not have knowledge of substitutions when I asked. She repeatedly said "hold on". Food was not good, just average. After eating, I don't feel like I had Chinese food. No favor. Shrimp fried rice tastes like just yellow rice from a box. I didn't receive my drinks that came with the combination meal. But on one positive note, when I called about the drinks that I didn't receive, they told me they will put a note to get them next time.
We have tried all of the local Chinese places in the area and this is hands down the best! Way, way better. It’s exactly what I want from a small, family-owned Chinese restaurant. We have never ordered delivery - we always pick up since we live close by - so I cannot comment on delivery. The food is always extremely hot, portions are generous, and everything we’ve had is delicious. We love the garlic chicken, lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, sesame chicken, crab Rangoon - I could go on. They also have a few coupons for free menu items if you spend over a certain amount (check their website). This is my first choice when I have a craving for Chinese food. Don’t waste your time at any of the other places in Burnsville or Apple Valley. Golden Wok is the best!
The food here is by far the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. The fried items are always crispy and the stir fry items are delicious. We have tried quite a few. On the menu and are never disappointed. Also, the cream cheese wontons are sweet but savory and the eggs rolls have more meat then cabbage. Never ordering anywhere else again!!
