About Golden Wok

Welcome to Golden Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 1770 Amsterdam Ave #1 in the bustling city of New York, NY. As a part of the numerous dining options within the Chinese Restaurant category in New York City, Golden Wok has seemingly provided quick delivery service, at least according to one customer's past experiences. However, recent feedback from patrons paints a concerning picture regarding the quality and safety of the food served at this establishment. This introduction aims to provide an objective summary of Golden Wok based solely on the provided customer reviews, highlighting the serious issues raised by recent diners.

The provided customer reviews do not offer any insights into the environment or ambiance of Golden Wok. The focus of the feedback is entirely on the food and the resulting experiences of the customers who consumed it. Therefore, no description of the restaurant's decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere can be derived from the available information. Potential customers seeking to understand the dining environment would need to look for additional reviews or information from other sources.

In terms of services, one customer mentioned that food delivery was typically "quick to arrive," indicating that Golden Wok offers delivery as a service. This suggests an efficient delivery system, at least in some instances. However, this speed of delivery is also flagged as a potential warning sign in a subsequent order that resulted in severe food poisoning. No other services, such as dine-in or takeout experiences, are mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, the primary service discussed is delivery, with contrasting experiences regarding its reliability in terms of food safety.

The features of Golden Wok, based on the very limited and highly negative recent feedback, are alarming. One customer reported experiencing "the worst food poisoning of my life" after consuming sesame chicken with pork fried rice. They specifically noted that the sesame chicken appeared to be "pieces of chicken skin covered in the sauce" and that they stopped eating upon this discovery, yet still became severely ill within a short period. This raises serious concerns about the quality of ingredients and food preparation practices at Golden Wok. The other reviewer echoed these concerns, stating that they "only eat so much Chinese food" and found the quality from Golden Wok to be "really sad." They ordered sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice and reported finding only "three pieces of shrimp" in the fried rice. Even more disturbingly, they stated that the sesame chicken "was just friend chicken skin and had no actual chicken." This consistent report of sesame chicken being primarily or entirely composed of fried chicken skin, rather than actual chicken meat, is a significant issue regarding the value and quality of the food being sold. The reviewer also expressed disbelief at the restaurant's health rating ("rated at A"), given their perception of the facility as being in poor condition ("building as hell").

Given the severity and consistency of these negative reports regarding food quality and safety, it is difficult to identify any positive features of Golden Wok based solely on this information. The quick delivery mentioned in one review is overshadowed by the subsequent report of severe food poisoning linked to the delivered food. The apparent discrepancy between a health rating and the observed food quality and facility condition is also a significant point of concern raised by one of the reviewers.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided customer reviews. Neither reviewer mentions any special offers, discounts, or ongoing promotions at Golden Wok. As such, it is not possible to comment on any incentives that the restaurant might offer. Local users interested in learning about any promotions would need to seek information from other sources or contact the restaurant directly, although the recent feedback raises serious questions about the advisability of doing so.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Golden Wok in New York, NY, paint a deeply concerning picture regarding the quality and safety of the food served. Multiple reports of sesame chicken being primarily or entirely composed of fried chicken skin, along with a case of severe food poisoning allegedly linked to their food, raise significant red flags for potential customers. While one past experience noted quick delivery, this is overshadowed by the alarming issues with food quality and safety. The discrepancy between a reported health rating and a customer's negative perception of the facility further adds to these concerns. Based solely on this recent feedback, local users should exercise extreme caution when considering ordering from Golden Wok. It would be prudent to seek more recent and potentially contrasting reviews from other sources before making a decision. As there is no positive feedback or promotional information available in these reviews, and the negative experiences are severe, potential customers are strongly advised to consider these reports carefully.

BE CAREFUL!!! I usually order with my husband from this spot and the food is always quick to arrive, but when we ordered yesterday the food came within five mins of us ordering. Usually we find this amazing but I should’ve seen it was a red flag. I got the worst food poisoning of my life!! I ordered the sesame chicken with pork fried rice. The meal came with what looked like pieces of chicken skin covered in the sauce. I stopped eating once I noticed and not even an hour or two later I got so sick. Not going to go into details but I had all the symptoms of food poisoning. Will never be ordering from here again!

I only eat so much Chinese food. It’s really sad the quality of food that comes out of here. I ordered Sesame Chicken with shrimp fried rice. Then when I got home ready to load my plate with food. I noticed the shrimp fried rice had three pieces of shrimp, but the kicker is that the sesame chicken was just friend chicken skin and had no actual chicken. I don’t understand how they can be rated at A their facility and building as hell.

Food arrived, missing a complete meal and was given some other weird food we didn’t request. Got a partial refund from Uber eats for the missing food but the food we did receive was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten, rice was undercooked and chicken was soggy. Noodles were burnt in places and crispy. No chicken received with the chicken noodles. Horrible, would never have again.

Affordable meals for $20. Take out and delivery. Good sesame chicken, chicken brocoli, and dumplings I get here sometimes. Good price.

Don't order food from here, the service is bad. I ordered food and it took them an hour and 15 minutes to bring it to me. Of course I sent it back, don't waste your time.
