About Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant
Welcome to Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant, a Chinese eatery situated at 140 Greene Plaza, Waynesburg, PA 15370, USA. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," Golden Wok offers a variety of Chinese dishes for the local community, with options for both dine-in and takeout. They can be contacted at (724) 852-2961 or +1 724-852-2961 for inquiries and orders.
Based on the limited customer reviews available, Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant appears to have received predominantly negative feedback regarding the quality of its food. One reviewer described the food as "horrible," specifically mentioning that the fried rice was "soggy" and the lo mein "tasted like it came right out of a bag," implying a lack of freshness or proper preparation. This customer also reported issues with the quality of their soda, stating that it tasted like the syrup needed to be replaced. When they informed the staff, they were told it was a new batch, but a replacement Mountain Dew was also described as "watered down," suggesting a potential issue with the beverage quality as well. This reviewer concluded their feedback by strongly recommending against visiting the restaurant, suggesting an alternative dining option nearby.
Another customer who ordered the General Tso tofu reported that it "tasted stale." This further reinforces concerns about the freshness and quality of the ingredients and the preparation of the dishes at Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant. The term "stale" suggests that the tofu may have been old or improperly stored, significantly impacting the taste and overall dining experience.
Despite the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the food, one positive aspect mentioned by the first reviewer was the waitress, who was described as "amazing and pleasant to talk to." This suggests that while the food quality may be lacking, the service provided by at least one staff member was commendable. However, positive service alone may not be sufficient to compensate for unsatisfactory food, as indicated by the reviewer's strong recommendation against the restaurant.
The environment of Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, as a typical Chinese restaurant offering dine-in and takeout, it likely has a standard dining area with tables and chairs, and a counter for order placement and pickup. Without further information, it is difficult to assess the ambiance or cleanliness of the establishment. The negative focus on food quality in the reviews overshadows any potential details about the restaurant's physical environment.
The services offered by Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant include both dine-in and takeout options for its menu of Chinese cuisine. The presence of a waitress suggests table service for dine-in customers. The staff's response to the soda issue indicates an attempt to address customer concerns, although the resolution was not entirely satisfactory for the reviewer. The primary service, however, is the provision of Chinese food, which, based on the reviews, has been a significant point of dissatisfaction for at least two customers.
Features of Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant would typically include a menu of standard Chinese-American dishes, such as fried rice, lo mein, and General Tso's tofu. The fact that one customer ordered General Tso tofu suggests that this is one of the offerings. However, the negative feedback indicates potential issues with the preparation and quality of these dishes. The one positive note was the pleasant service from the waitress. Any unique features or specialties of the restaurant are not highlighted in the provided reviews.
Promotional information is not included in the given text. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or a detailed menu from Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant are advised to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers. It is also possible that they have a physical menu available at the restaurant for dine-in and takeout customers. Given the negative food reviews, it might be prudent for potential customers to inquire about the freshness and preparation of specific dishes before placing an order or dining in.
In conclusion, the limited customer feedback available for Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, is largely negative, focusing on the poor quality of the food, including soggy fried rice, subpar lo mein, stale tofu, and issues with beverage quality. While one reviewer praised the waitress, this positive aspect does not seem to outweigh the significant concerns about the food. Local users considering dining at Golden Wok should be aware of these recent negative experiences. It would be advisable to seek more recent reviews from other sources or to inquire directly with the restaurant about their current food quality and preparation methods before making a decision. Based on the provided information, a cautious approach is warranted.
As a "Chinese Restaurant" serving the Waynesburg area, Golden Wok aims to provide a range of Chinese dishes for both dine-in and takeout. However, the strong negative feedback regarding the fundamental aspect of food quality raises serious concerns about whether they are effectively fulfilling this role. The issues reported, such as soggy rice, pre-made tasting noodles, and stale tofu, suggest potential problems in the kitchen with ingredient freshness or cooking techniques. While good service is important, the primary expectation of a restaurant is to serve palatable and well-prepared food.
For local residents of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, seeking a Chinese dining option, the available reviews for Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant serve as a strong caution. The consistent complaints about the food quality, spanning different types of dishes and even beverages, indicate a potential systemic issue. While the pleasantness of the waitress is a positive note, it is unlikely to compensate for a poor culinary experience. Potential customers might want to explore other Chinese restaurants in the area that have received more favorable recent reviews to ensure a more satisfactory meal.
In summary, the current online feedback for Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, primarily highlights significant issues with the quality and freshness of their food. While the service from at least one waitress was reportedly good, the concerns about soggy fried rice, pre-made tasting lo mein, stale tofu, and poor beverage quality are substantial. Local users should consider these negative reviews seriously and may want to seek alternative Chinese dining options in the area. Direct contact with the restaurant to inquire about their current food quality and practices is recommended if one still considers visiting.

Customer Reviews
Food is horrible, fried rice is soggy. Lo mein tasted like it came right out of a bag. Got a soda and it tasted like the syrup needed replaced. Informed the staff that said I was the first one to get it because it was new. Offered me a new drink got a mtn dew that was also watered down. Should have went to the BBQ place next door instead. Waitress was amazing and pleasant to talk to. I would not recommend this place.
I got general tso tofu I must say it tased stale
Ill start off by saying the waitress was very nice and made sure we had everything. Food service was quick. Most of the food was good. My meal was orange chicken and it was burnt. Sauce was dark and the orange peels were black. The place needs cleaned up too.
Have eaten here several times in the last few months. I really like the cashew chicken (I do order extra cashews) , the chicken noodle soup is a great value and the cream cheese Rangoons are great! I prefer to purchase canned pop from them rather than their fountain drinks. Prices are very reasonable.
Over priced and 3 dollars for a cup of coffee with no refills is ridiculous. Fried dumplings were burnt. Lomain was super salty. I would not recommend the only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the lady was nice
