The staff is really nice and always remember me, they waste no time to start making the food after taking your order, and it's always really delicious. 10/10 would highly recommend

Golden Star is an awesome classic Chinese restaurant. We ordered family dinner #7 and it did not disappoint. Golden Star has the best BBQ pork i have ever had. I'm excited to try the pot stickers next time, they looked amazing. The service was great. We are new to Boise and we have found our spot for Chinese food.

This was the best Chinese food I've had in at least a couple of years. The food was all fresh and delicious, and the rangoon was my favorite part of my meal. My server was kind and boxed my leftovers. Everything about this meal was great, including the hot tea and the price.

Pretty meh 🫤 to be honest after trying it 3 different times over the last year. Food is inconsistent with quality and honestly not great. Meat was over cooked on some dishes, so like a rubber chicken texture. Then some dishes meat was okay like on the Lemon chicken. The only consistent item was the fried rice, minus the current $1-2.50 up charge they have going. Their Lo Mein (soft noodle) was super NASTY. Teeny weird noodles and an odd taste I can’t quite describe. Although service isn’t absolutely terrible it is lacking. They are just order takers without any “How are you? Thanks for coming” comments but then expect 18-25% “standard tip” which based on their prices is $5-7. Speaking of prices they are quite high for the lack of quality and quantity of food. I hate to say Panda Express does better, but honestly they do. After trying it today it’s our third and final time. Not worth a $40 date night for mediocre Chinese.

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. The food quality and service has gone down tremendously since my last visit. From our server dropping our napkins all on the ground and picking them up off the floor and she put them on our table! Like eww… disgusting… if they do this right in front of you.. what’s the food preparation like?!?!? This was my last and final visit. Do not recommend.
