Based on recent customer feedback, Golden Phoenix provides a delightful dining experience that caters to a wide range of palates. One enthusiastic reviewer, visiting from Tulsa, described their meal as "DELICIOUS!!!" and highlighted the treat of finding traditional Chinese and Vietnamese food in Oklahoma City. This sentiment underscores the restaurant's dedication to offering authentic flavors that resonate with those familiar with these culinary traditions.

The menu at Golden Phoenix appears to be quite extensive and varied, featuring a range of dishes that have received high praise. The Hot & Sour Soup was noted for its flavorful profile, earning a respectable 7.5 out of 10. For those seeking Vietnamese specialties, the BBH (likely Bún Bò Huế, a spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup) was commended for its traditional pork hock, lemongrassy flavor, and the inclusion of thinly shredded cabbage, receiving an 8 out of 10. The Pho, a staple of Vietnamese cuisine, was also rated positively at 8 out of 10, suggesting a satisfying and well-prepared version of this classic noodle soup.

The noodle dishes at Golden Phoenix also garnered attention. The Beef Chow Fun (dry) was acknowledged for its deliciousness, although one reviewer suggested it could benefit from more "wok-hay," a distinct smoky flavor imparted by high-heat wok cooking. Despite this minor critique, it still received an 8 out of 10. The Beef Chow Fun (wet), however, emerged as a table favorite, praised for its authentic taste and flavor, earning a high rating of 9 out of 10. This indicates a mastery in preparing this popular Cantonese noodle dish.

One of the standout dishes mentioned in the reviews is the Sizzling Beef, described as "Korean short ribs." This dish was particularly loved for its complex flavor profile, being peppery, salty, and sweet, with the prominent aromas of bell peppers and onions. It received an impressive rating of 9 out of 10, suggesting it's a must-try for those who enjoy bold and aromatic beef dishes. Even the Stir-fried Udon Noodles were a hit, particularly with children who enjoyed the thick texture of the noodles, earning an 8 out of 10.

Beyond the savory dishes, the Flan at Golden Phoenix also received exceptional praise. Described as "absolutely decadent," it was lauded for its smooth texture, balanced sweetness, and the absence of bitterness in the top layer. While noted as slightly expensive at around $5, the reviewer deemed it "worth it," highlighting the quality and satisfaction it provides.

A significant aspect of the Golden Phoenix experience, as highlighted by the first reviewer, is its affordability. The fact that a bill of around $120 could feed four hungry adults and two children suggests that the restaurant offers generous portions at reasonable prices, making it an excellent option for families and groups looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. The reviewer's enthusiasm about the leftovers still being delicious days later further attests to the quality of the ingredients and preparation.

Another long-time customer declared Golden Phoenix their "favorite Oriental restaurant in Oklahoma City," even while acknowledging that not every dish tried received a perfect five-star rating. This speaks volumes about the overall quality and consistency of the restaurant. The reviewer specifically praised the authentic Chinese and Vietnamese cooking, highlighting the excellent dim sum, steamed golden pomfret with black bean sauce, and mapo tofu as personal favorites. This indicates that Golden Phoenix offers a diverse menu with strengths in various culinary areas.

The service at Golden Phoenix is also positively mentioned, with descriptions of "fast service" and "friendly servers," contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. This efficiency and warmth in service can significantly enhance the overall customer experience, making patrons feel welcome and valued.

While one reviewer expressed slight disappointment with the Seafood HK Pan-Fried HK Noodle on a particular occasion due to a lack of seafood ingredients in the sauce, their continued patronage underscores their overall positive view of the restaurant. This suggests that while occasional inconsistencies might occur, the general quality and appeal of Golden Phoenix are strong enough to foster customer loyalty.

Yall... we went for dinner and this place was DELICIOUS!!! We were in town from Tulsa, so it was such a treat to have traditional Chinese/Vietnamese food. - Hot & Sour Soup was very flavorful. It's a 7.5/10 - BBH comes with the traditional pork hock, very lemongrassy and flavorful and it does come with a side of thinly shredded cabbage! 8/10 - Pho was pretty decent. 8/10 - Beef Chow Fun (dry) needs a little bit more wok-hay, but it was super delicious either way! 8/10 - Beef Chow Fun (wet) this was a table favorite, they loved the flavor and how authentic it tasted. 9/10 - The Sizzling Beef (korean short ribs) - oh I absolutely loved this one! It is peppery, salty, sweet and the aromas of the bellpepper and onions really shine through! 9/10 - Stir fried udon noodles - the kids really loved the thick noodles. 8/10 - Flan - oh goodness.. this was absolutely decadent! Smooth... it wasn't too sweet and there was no bitterness to the top layer. It is a little expensive ($5 something), but it is worth it! And to top it off, we ordered stuff to take home and... let's just say, a few days later, IT IS STILL DELICIOUS!!!! Yummmm. Can't wait to go back when I am in OKC :). Also, this place is very affordable! All this food and our bill was like… $120? Fed 4 hangrrrry adults & 2 kids!

This is my favorite Oriental restaurant in Oklahoma City even though I didn't give the food, 5 stars. Authentic Chinese & Vietnamese cooking. I have tried a lot of different dishes but I did not like all of them. The dim sum is excellent. I love the steamed golden pomfret with black bean sauce and the mapo tofu. Fast service, friendly servers and nice atmosphere. Saturday, January 26, 2025, we ordered for 4 dishes. (1) C34 Steamed Golden Pomfret with Black Bean Sauce. Excellent. (2) GP2 Braised Shanghai Meat Balls in Casserole. Excellent. (3) C69 Sweet and Sour Pork. Michael loves this dish. I think most caucasians love sweet and sour pork. I am an Asian. I found it too starchy. (4) C109 Seafood HK Pan-Fried HK Noodle. I was disappointed with the dish because the sauce had only 2 kind of seafood, slices of squid and a few pieces of prawns. What I am saying is, there was plenty of fried noodles and very little seafood ingredients in the pour over sauce. The last time we had this dish was better. However, even though I only like 2 of the 4 dishes we ordered. I will continue coming. Maybe next time, this dish will be more better. Thank you.

For Sunday lunch (Dim Sum), the place was packed, which was a good sign. To start, the Har Gow were disappointing as they fell apart. The Soft-Shell Crab was awful because it was cold and hard like rocks. The Congee met my expectations. The waitress recommended a Curry dish that was really good. The Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll was okay, though the texture could have been smoother. My favorite was the Beef Tripe, as it had a nice crunch and was flavorful. Overall, it was worth going for authentic Chinese and Vietnamese food, but the quality ranged from excellent to poor.

Amazing restaurant. They offer dim sum but we ordered a bunch of dishes to share from the menu. The green beans, fried dumplings, and orange chicken were my favorites. Fried squid was an honorable mention. But all of it was delicious and fantastic. It's fun to go with a group so you can try lots of different dishes. Many tables had lazy Susan rotating tabletops which makes it easier to share. The staff were friendly and helpful. We went on a Sunday for lunch with a group of 5 + 1 baby and were seated right away.

Normally our favorite place for dim sum. Today we ordered the crispy roast pork and duck plate. It was horrible. I’m not sure how they can even serve this to their patrons? Dried, old and just disgusting. No pride in their food. This food should not have been served. On top of it all, charged a $1 upgrade fee for the roast pork. Wouldn’t mind if it actually tasted decent. Needless to say, we didn’t touch it after tasting it. We’ll just stick to dim sum in the future.
