Welcome to Golden Lake Pavilion, a distinguished Chinese restaurant nestled in the heart of Queens, New York, specifically at 6015 Main St, Flushing, NY 11367, USA. As a prominent establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Golden Lake Pavilion offers a comprehensive dining experience, catering to a diverse range of palates and occasions. You can easily reach them at (718) 886-6693 or their mobile number +1 718-886-6693 to make reservations or inquiries.
Based on authentic customer feedback, Golden Lake Pavilion has garnered a reputation for its exceptional culinary offerings, particularly its dim sum. For those who appreciate the art of dim sum, Golden Lake Pavilion stands out as a must-visit destination. One enthusiastic reviewer, an "avid dim sum goer," expressed their strong affinity for the restaurant, highlighting the consistent freshness and quality of the dim sum selection. A notable feature that sets Golden Lake Pavilion apart is the traditional practice of serving dim sum via rolling carts, a charming and interactive experience that is becoming increasingly rare. This method allows diners to directly view and select from a tempting array of bite-sized delicacies as they circulate through the dining area.
Beyond dim sum, Golden Lake Pavilion appears to excel in its broader menu, with multiple patrons praising the overall quality and deliciousness of the food. While some reviewers noted that the prices might be slightly higher, the consensus leans towards the notion that the superior quality justifies the cost. This suggests that Golden Lake Pavilion prioritizes the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients and employs skilled chefs who deliver authentic and flavorful Chinese dishes.
Golden Lake Pavilion also demonstrates its versatility as a venue for various events and gatherings. One review mentioned that a cycling group of nine dined at the restaurant and appreciated the Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) policy, offering flexibility for those who wish to pair their meal with specific wines. Additionally, the restaurant boasts a nice wine selection of its own, catering to diners who prefer to choose from their curated list.
For special occasions and larger parties, Golden Lake Pavilion offers impressive VIP private rooms. One reviewer specifically highlighted the spaciousness and comfort of these private areas, making them ideal for celebrations. A standout feature mentioned in the context of a private event was the availability of premium seafood, including a remarkable 15-pound King Crab, albeit at a significant price point. This suggests that Golden Lake Pavilion is capable of catering to high-end dining experiences and providing luxurious options for celebratory events where making a grand impression is desired.
The positive feedback regarding the taste and quality of the dishes is consistent across multiple reviews. One group unanimously agreed that every dish served was delicious and worth the price, indicating a high level of culinary satisfaction among diners. This reinforces the notion that Golden Lake Pavilion is committed to providing a memorable dining experience through its flavorful and well-prepared food.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective, as also indicated by the customer reviews. While the culinary aspects of Golden Lake Pavilion receive high praise, there are areas where the establishment could improve. One reviewer pointed out that the venue could benefit from some upgrades and specifically mentioned the need for better cleanliness in the bathrooms. This feedback suggests that while the food and service related to dining are commendable, the physical infrastructure and maintenance of certain areas might need attention to elevate the overall customer experience to a five-star level, especially considering the price point of some offerings.
Despite these areas for potential improvement, Golden Lake Pavilion remains a highly recommended Chinese restaurant in Queens, particularly for its exceptional dim sum, high-quality general menu, and accommodating facilities for group dining and special events. The availability of private rooms and the BYOB option further enhance its appeal for various occasions. The positive comments regarding the delicious food and the memorable dim sum experience underscore its strengths in the competitive Chinese culinary landscape of New York City.
In summary, Golden Lake Pavilion offers a rich and authentic Chinese dining experience characterized by fresh and delectable dim sum served from traditional carts, a diverse menu of high-quality dishes, spacious and comfortable private rooms suitable for celebrations, and the convenience of a BYOB policy alongside a curated wine selection. While some aspects of the venue's upkeep have been noted as areas for potential improvement, the consistent praise for the food and the overall dining experience makes Golden Lake Pavilion a noteworthy destination for locals seeking authentic Chinese cuisine in Queens. Whether you are a dim sum enthusiast, planning a family gathering, or looking for a venue to celebrate a special occasion, Golden Lake Pavilion offers a compelling option.

Coming from an avid dim sum goer I am obsessed with this place. They always have the best dim sum so fresh. I love that they roll around the carts not many places do this anymore. We’re here for every event and occasion in our family. i’ve included pictures from the last couple of months.
Dined here several times and the food is great 👍 👍. A bit pricey but good quality. Our cycling group of 9 dined here and we brought our own wine to inebriate. BYOB. The venue also has nice wine selection. The VIP private room was spacious & comfortable. The highlight here was the KING CRAB 🦀 (15 lbs, about a grand $$). If you’re looking to celebrate 🎉, you got to go BIG. Every dish was delicious and we cleaned out everything that was served. A unanimous vote that the food was worth it. The venue can use some new upgrades and the bathroom NEEDS MORE CLEANUP! This is why it did NOT receive 5 stars ⭐️ as an establishment worthy of charging $1,500 for dinner. 😅😅 Noon dim sum is also spectacular.
We dined in for a dim sum breakfast. It was everything I’ve ever dreamed of. Don’t miss the soup dumplings and the egg yolk bun. $55 for 3 people to eat and we were stuffed. Loved it here!
Came for dim sum with my family on a Saturday at around 10:30 in the morning to try and beat the rush. I've been here a few times before for dim sum and birthday dinners but it was years ago. They have street metered parking (not much) or valet parking. The lot looked pretty crowded already but the restaurant still had seats. We had the classic dim sum staples (shrimp/beef churng fun, ha gow, shumai, pork ribs, chicken feet, taro puffs, sticky rice, tripe, meatballs, and fish balls). They were all pretty standard except the pork ribs, which had leftover pork taste so you're better off skipping that one. We also ordered beef chow fun and young chow fried rice. The chow fun was good, but I always love a chow fun. We were seated on the platform area, so it was easy to be overlooked (i.e. in getting dim sum, flagging a waiter for water, the bill, etc.). Overall, it was your typical dim sum/Chinese restaurant experience - being ignored by waiters, and dishes that are hit or miss. But it definitely beats going into the heart of Flushing and having to fight for a spot (both parking and a table) there. Tip - there's a weekday special where you can get medium and large dim sum plates for the price of a small plate.
Comparable to the dimsum of Asian Jewels (also in Flushing but walkable from the 7 subway unlike here where you have to transfer to the Q44) but slightly better since every dimsum was hot (Asian Jewels served some dimsum in slightly less than room temp). The best was the shrimp hofan. I would not order the tripe again though since it was too tough. I would’ve added a star if the service had been more attentive. But overall it’s a nice place to enjoy quality dimsum on a lazy Sunday. After brunch you can do some Asian supermarket shopping in Yong Fa beside them.
