Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant

I usually walk in for a plate and they provide plenty of meat but when I had my food delivered the portion of meat was skimpy. I ordered a large curry goat plate . I spent more on this restaurant because the portions are usually great. However, it wasn’t worth it. I spent $40 in the meal and delivery. I emailed my concerns with a picture and spoke with some staff. They wouldn’t provide a refund. Don’t deliver but would give me a cup of meat that I can pick up or add to another delivery order. I don’t drive and can’t get the cup of meat they would give to makeup for the poor portions they gave. I’m very disappointed- don’t have your food delivered.

I've been patronizing the GK franchise for years both in NY and GA and this location is by far the BEST location that I've eaten. They also donate to the community and do various community service like their free Thanksgiving dinner plate for families with food insecurity and as a way to say thank you for customer support throughout the year! The owners are hard working and very personable. There may be a lot of other GK's around the metro are but this one is by far the best!!

7/8/2024 I can only blame myself for returning, but that's it. i don't even need a response from the owner. I thought all GKs were to follow a format and the same recipe. There is no reason to spend so much for so little food. As a half Jamaican, I'm kicking myself because I know how to make these dishes. I'm sorry but Fireside gives you way more food and the people are friendly. Times are rough. No one wants to spend over $30 for 5 fatty oxtails and for curry goat that is so salty you can't even eat it.. This place used to be so good, and now they are just terrible and the people are not friendly. They don't even smile. I'm never going back, unless they change hands. My hard earned money is worth more than what they want to dish out to people. For the love of god stop with the ginger!! Brown stew chicken should not taste like ginger chicken. Just purchased a small and the ginger is overpowering. I can't even enjoy. As soon as I looked at it I knew it was prepared differently. I got some this past weekend and it was great! Isn't there a standard recipe or is everyone who cooks just doing their own thing according to their taste. I am half Jamaican. I have never had brown stew chicken with ginger! It's not even the same color as the plate I bought on Saturday. It's hard to spend so much money on a plate of food and be so disappointed. This spot is usually on point but not today. It's not even that I don't like ginger because I do, but when all you taste is ginger, it's a ginger flavored stew. Sometimes the cabbage tastes like it has ginger in it as well. Stop it! Chicken is swimming in straight up ginger gravy. I buy food from here often. I don't expect the whole flavor profile of the meal to be completely different.

Not only do they lie about the happy hour lunch special but the light skin girl has HORRIBLE customer service. I’d go any day that she isn’t there if I’m being honest. Asked about the cow foot happy hour special she said it wasn’t a part of it yet I received a text about it. Wouldn’t recommend honestly anymore.

I'm from NY so Golden Krust has always been a go to for me. But I must say, the Golden Krust in Morrow has taken that to another level. I have probably been there about 4 times in the past week. The food is always super fresh, the employees are always smiling, and the beef patties just warm my heart ☺️ And the Oxtails are next level.
