Golden City Restaurant

Tried this for the first time tonight. I did not know they also had a drive-thur, that is handy. The food was great and the price was a wonderful value. Very clean and friendly service. If you want a good local Chinese place then try this out!

Do not let the exterior fool you. This is some of the best Chinese Food I have had in the area! I'm not going to lie; the exterior is rough at best. But that in no way translates to the food you receive! I ordered the General Tsao's chicken lunch special. It was $4.50. I paid a small up charge to add chicken to my fried rice, and a dollar to purchase an egg roll. The lunch also comes with soup of your choice, which was Egg Drop for me. The amount of food I received for just over six dollars was ridiculous. It was enough to feed at least two people for lunch. The chicken was delicious and the breading had a good flavor. The rice had peas, carrots, and huge chucks of chicken mixed in, the egg drop soup was very good, and the huge bag of crisps to put in the soup was just right. Nothing bad to say about the food at all. The woman who took my order and gave me my food was very nice and even cracked a few jokes toward herself when she realized she forgot to give me a spoon for my soup. All in all, it was a great experience and a great lunch. I will definitely be going back to Golden City in the future!

I don't normally comment on food but, this was the worst Chinese we have ever eaten. Potstickers were freezer burnt. We had egg foo yung and you could tell it was not made to order. Chicken fried rice was edible. I'm thinking everything was frozen then made when you ordered. We saw good and bad reviews for this restaurant and wanted to try for ourselves. Sorry we wasted our money!

Hate to say it because this place was my favorite but it's so bad now. My boneless chicken today was inedible. The crab cheese was old and reheated, the fried rice was just meat and rice. Chicken was burnt and melted the container. Gravy had zero flavor. Sauce for crab cheese was in a 2oz cup. The two packets of soy sauce weren't enough to add flavor. Seriously concerned about the crab cheese. Hope I don't get sick.

The sweet & sour chicken is delicious. My only "complaint" is that it doesn't come with things like pineapple, zucchini, etc. It's just the chicken, fried rice, & and sauce. All of which is great. I'd just like something more. The portion size is HUGE. We could easily make 4 meals from one combination order.
