The first time I went here it wasn’t very good, and they weren’t very good at explaining their “specials” and when they were applicable. Anyway, yesterday I went to sushi next door with my boyfriend. We spend a lot of money there for barely any food. It was disappointing. I decided to go to golden chopsticks and take out something actually filling. And let me tell you the only thing you EVER need to order here is the salt and pepper chicken with a side of rice. Hits Every. Single. Time. Delicious! Also not a fan of their fried rice so I’d stick with the plain rice if I were you. Also the egg drop soup is pretty good too. Thank you!!
Decide to take my coworkers to this newer Chinese restaurant around the area. I haven’t been but saw their salt and pepper chicken wings on ads…so I was sold. Most dishes are good but not amazing to SD standard. But those wings were so crispy and seasoned properly. I might come back just for those wings haha
Pretty clean and the food was good. We went on a weekday for lunch. We arrived at 11:30am and it was just starting to get busy. By noon, most of the tables inside were full. The tables outside on their patio were available. The portions were large. $15 for their lunch special that included the entree, an egg drop soup, fried or steam rice, and an eggroll. I ordered the Singapore rice noodle. I wouldn't recommend that. It was a little too wet but the curry flavor was strong and good. The shrimp with broccoli and the braided tofu with mushroom dishes were pretty good.
I had leftovers from our baby shower from golden chopsticks in Mira Mesa. Why did I find a metal screw…. YES A METAL SCREW. I almost ate it but luckily I looked down at my bowl. I went in the next day and spoke with Lily, the manager. Explained the situation and requested a full refund for the party trays we ordered. First she says she’s glad no one ate it, that would’ve been a whole mess with insurance (no shit yeah it would but that’s the first thing you say?) but mistakes happen. (How does a screw fall into food a mistake?) then said she can’t offer me a refund until she speaks with the owners. She can offer a free meal to dine in, or next party trays we ordered would be comped. Why on earth would I want to place another order and constantly be in fear that there’s another metal screw in my food?? I kindly told her I’m requesting a full refund and provided her with all the info and transactions for my order. Lily calls me last night saying that she spoke with the owners and the “final decision” is they can only offer me a dine in meal at no cost. No refund in cash or credit. She said she thinks it unfair for me to ask for a full refund. Mentions that they have dealt with situations like this before and no one has ever asked for such. (So this happened before and yall still handle food poorly??) I pushed back and told her I don’t ever want to eat of their food, If they can just refund me for at least 1 of the trays.. and i don’t appreciate her trying to justify a metal screw in my food… someone could’ve eaten it, gotten injured, and now you’re saying mistakes happen, were human??? You’re just going to dismiss the whole principle of a foreign object in my food??? Your only option is to provide me a comped meal and the only way for your establishment to give someone back their money is if someone did get injured and it’s going through insurance?
September update: Dining in this time. The weather is starting to get chilly at night. We decided to have bean curd soup, salt and pepper chicken wings, shrimp soft noodles and braised tofu in brown sauce. The later one was our first time to try, and enjoyed it. Overall we had a good meal. Everything was served hot and flavorful. Thank you. For a change, we tried sauteed snow peas in garlic, egg drop chicken corn soup & fish fillet. We like everything. My daughter favors the soup.
