About Golden Chopsticks

Golden Chopsticks is a Chinese restaurant located in County Line Plaza at 644 US-1 in Tequesta, Florida (zip code 33469), USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Golden Chopsticks offers Chinese cuisine to the Tequesta community, with services likely including both takeout and dine-in options. They can be contacted at their phone number: (561) 748-8688 or their mobile phone number: +1 561-748-8688.

Based on recent customer feedback available online, Golden Chopsticks appears to be an establishment with a somewhat inconsistent recent history, marked by both positive changes and significant negative experiences reported by different patrons. One reviewer noted a positive shift, stating that the "place has really changed" for the better. They praised the food as "excellent" and mentioned that portions were generous ("a lot of it!"). This positive feedback suggests that improvements have been made, particularly in the quality and quantity of the food served. This reviewer also observed that while fortune cookies are no longer included with orders, the restaurant itself seemed "better kept than it was before," indicating an improvement in the cleanliness or maintenance of the premises. Their positive experience led them to return multiple times, suggesting a level of satisfaction with the recent changes.

However, this positive perspective is sharply contrasted by two other recent reviews that paint a much more negative picture of Golden Chopsticks. One customer described their takeout food as "chewy, hard, and tasteless." Their extreme dissatisfaction led them to question whether the establishment had ever been inspected and stated that they would not recommend anyone try "this excuse for food," concluding that it was "simply awful!" This review raises serious concerns about the basic quality and freshness of the food being served, directly contradicting the positive experience of the other reviewer.

The third recent review details an even more disturbing experience. This customer reported finding a fly in their rice. They also mentioned a concerning observation about the restaurant's hygiene, stating that "the door Is ALWAYS propped OPEN!" This practice could indeed contribute to issues with pests entering the premises and potentially contaminating food. When the customer returned the food to request a refund, they were met with an accusation from a woman claiming to be the owner, who allegedly accused the customer of putting the fly in the rice themselves. The customer's refund request was refused, leading to extreme dissatisfaction and a declaration of being "beyond angry!" This review raises significant red flags regarding food safety, hygiene practices, and customer service, particularly the handling of complaints and the refusal of a refund in such a serious situation.

Considering these three recent reviews, it is difficult to form a definitive overall impression of Golden Chopsticks. While one customer reported significant improvements in food quality and cleanliness, two other customers shared deeply negative experiences concerning food quality, hygiene (a fly in the food, door always propped open), and extremely poor customer service, including being accused of tampering with their food and being denied a refund. This stark contrast suggests a potential inconsistency in the restaurant's operations, where some customers might receive satisfactory food and experience a cleaner environment, while others face serious issues with food quality and hygiene, compounded by unprofessional and accusatory customer service.

As a Chinese restaurant, Golden Chopsticks likely offers a standard menu of popular Chinese-American dishes, including rice-based meals and various takeout staples. The reviews mention rice as part of the meal and the absence of fortune cookies, which are common with such orders. However, the lack of specific dish names in the negative reviews makes it challenging to pinpoint particular menu items that might be consistently problematic. The positive review's general praise for the "excellent" food and generous portions doesn't specify which dishes were enjoyed.

For local users in Tequesta and the surrounding areas considering Golden Chopsticks, it is crucial to weigh these highly contrasting recent experiences. The positive review might suggest that the restaurant is indeed improving, but the serious allegations of poor food quality, hygiene issues (flies, open door), and appalling customer service (accusation, refused refund) cannot be ignored. Potential customers should be aware of the significant risks highlighted in the negative reviews before deciding to patronize this establishment. It might be prudent to look for more recent reviews to see if a clearer pattern of consistent quality and service emerges.

The reviews provide limited information about the restaurant's environment beyond one mention of it being "better kept than it was before" and another observation about the door being "ALWAYS propped OPEN." The services offered likely include takeout, and potentially dine-in, although the focus of the reviews is primarily on the food quality and service aspects of takeout. No promotional information was included in the provided text. The conflicting nature of the feedback makes it difficult to identify any unique features or consistently positive aspects of Golden Chopsticks at this time.

In conclusion, Golden Chopsticks in Tequesta, FL, presents a complex picture based on recent customer reviews. While one reviewer noted improvements in food quality and cleanliness, two others reported significant issues with chewy and tasteless food, a fly found in rice, a persistently open door potentially compromising hygiene, and shockingly poor customer service involving accusations and a refused refund. Local users should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and exercise caution before choosing to dine at or order from Golden Chopsticks. The serious nature of the negative feedback, particularly concerning food safety and customer service, warrants significant consideration.

Place has really changed. Food is excellent and a lot of it! Unfortunately, no fortune cookies with your order anymore, but the place seems better kept than it was before. Glad we tried it again and have been back several times since.

The food was chewy, hard, and tasteless. If this takeout hash pot has ever been inspected, I would be surprised! I would not recommend anyone trying this excuse for food … it was simply awful! WORSE, the door Is ALWAYS propped OPEN! I found a fly in my rice! When I returned the food for a refund the woman (claimed to be the owner) accused me of putting the fly in my rice! My refund request was refused! Angry? Beyond that!

I so Agree with all the previous complaints. We use to order here all the time. Food is bland and very disappointing. Ordering food is a hassle and denied delivery twice after all these years. It’s very obvious there are new owners. Definitely not the same at all. We tried a couple of times in case they were having a bad night. We were wrong. We are definitely not going here again.

We've been in Tequesta since 2013 and this was our go to for Chinese food. This place was sold and now it is awful. Not sure what they are doing different. Maybe cheaper food but definitely not the same! House fried rice had no flavor or meat. General Tso's, although tender, had no flavor and was not the bit spicy. We'll drive a little further from now on, but will not be going back. Shame!

I ordered the dinner combo, shrimp lo mein, pork fried rice, and it included a soda. Total with tax was under $14. It doesn’t look like a lot of food but it is a ton! I am a super picky eater and my first bite of the lo mein I literally said out loud wow this is delicious! The pork fried rice is good but next time I’ll just get the shrimp lo mein. It’s that yummy! Definitely recommend giving them a try, I’m not sure why the rating is so low for this place but my experience was great.
