Welcome to Golden China Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 406 D S Church St, Kenly, NC 27542, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant platform category, Golden China aims to serve the Kenly community with a variety of Chinese culinary offerings, primarily focusing on takeout services based on recent customer feedback. Golden China Restaurant caters to individuals and families in the Kenly area seeking Chinese food for convenient takeout. Based on the limited recent customer reviews available, it is crucial for potential customers to be aware of significant issues reported regarding food quality and the restaurant environment before deciding to patronize this establishment. The feedback suggests a concerning decline in standards that warrants careful consideration.

One customer, who mentioned previously enjoying the food at Golden China, reported a drastically negative experience. They stated that on their recent visit, the food was "awful," with something tasting "seriously off." Their dissatisfaction was so severe that they discarded the food after only "3 bites." Their husband reportedly had a similar experience with his order, and they both found the egg rolls to be "fried hard and tasted burnt." This customer expressed significant disappointment and frustration over wasting $35 on a meal that was inedible, indicating a substantial drop in the quality they had previously experienced.

Another customer also reported a highly negative experience, specifically regarding the "worst fried rice I've ever tried." While they found the Lo Mein to be "edible," this lukewarm assessment does little to inspire confidence. Furthermore, this reviewer provided insights into the restaurant's environment, stating that the "Atmosphere still in COVID pandemic setting with worn out furniture." This suggests a lack of upkeep and a potentially uninviting ambiance for any potential dine-in customers, although the reviewer also noted that the "facility strictly take out," implying that the worn-out furniture might not directly impact most customers. Disturbingly, they also mentioned "Sockets even covered with duct tape," raising concerns about the safety and maintenance of the premises. The only positive comment from this reviewer was regarding the "food packaging," which they found to be the "Best thing" about their experience.

These two recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of Golden China Restaurant in Kenly, NC. Both highlight significant issues with the quality and taste of the food, with descriptions like "awful," "seriously off," "burnt," and "worst fried rice ever tried." Additionally, one review raises concerns about the restaurant's environment and maintenance, although it also indicates that the facility primarily operates as a takeout establishment. The stark negativity in this limited feedback suggests a potential decline in the standards of Golden China Restaurant that local users should be aware of.

For local users in Kenly, NC, Golden China Restaurant presents itself as a local option for Chinese takeout. However, the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the taste and quality of the food should serve as a significant warning. Potential customers should be extremely cautious and consider the high risk of receiving unsatisfactory meals based on the recent experiences of others. The reported issues extend to multiple dishes, including fried rice and egg rolls, and even a previously enjoyed item now described as tasting "seriously off." The mention of a run-down environment, even if primarily a takeout facility, might also deter some customers.

Information regarding the environment of Golden China Restaurant is limited, but the mention of a "COVID pandemic setting with worn out furniture" and "Sockets even covered with duct tape" suggests a potentially unappealing and poorly maintained space. While the reviewer noted that it is "strictly take out," these observations raise broader concerns about the overall upkeep and standards of the establishment.

In terms of services, the reviews indicate that takeout is the primary, if not exclusive, service offered at Golden China Restaurant. There is no mention of dine-in or delivery services. Given the negative feedback on food quality and the state of the premises, the focus seems to be solely on providing takeout meals, albeit with significant reported issues in the quality of those meals.

Regarding features, based on the negative reviews, it is challenging to identify any positive features. The food, which is the primary offering of a restaurant, is described as "awful" and the "worst" by recent customers. The only positive mentioned was the "food packaging," which is hardly a primary feature that would attract customers seeking a satisfying meal. The apparent decline in food quality and the concerning state of the environment, even for a takeout-focused establishment, do not suggest any compelling features that would entice local users.

The provided information does not contain any details about current promotional offers or specials at Golden China Restaurant. Given the significant negative feedback regarding the fundamental aspects of food quality and the restaurant environment, any potential promotions would likely be irrelevant to customers seeking a reliable and enjoyable Chinese meal.

In conclusion, Golden China Restaurant in Kenly, NC, is a Chinese restaurant primarily offering takeout services. Recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of significantly declined food quality, with multiple dishes described as inedible or severely subpar. Additionally, there are concerns raised about the restaurant's environment. For local users in Kenly, proceeding with extreme caution is strongly advised. The reported experiences suggest a high risk of receiving unsatisfactory food and a potentially unpleasant experience even for takeout. Potential customers may want to consider alternative Chinese restaurants in the area with more positive and reliable customer feedback before choosing to order from Golden China Restaurant.

For residents of Kenly seeking Chinese takeout, the available information strongly suggests avoiding Golden China Restaurant due to the serious issues reported by recent customers regarding food quality and the state of the premises. The negative feedback is consistent and severe, indicating a high likelihood of a disappointing and wasteful experience. Exploring other Chinese restaurants in Kenly or nearby areas with more positive and recent reviews would be a prudent decision to ensure a satisfactory meal.

We use to enjoy the food here but today it was awful, something tasted seriously off! 3 bites and it went straight into the trash! My husband came inside and said the same thing about his including the egg rolls were fried hard and tasted burnt! Very disappointed, such a waste of $35!

The worst fried rice I've ever tried. Lo Mein edible. Atmosphere still in COVID pandemic setting with worn out furniture. Sockets even covered with duct tape, facility strictly take out. Best thing was food packaging.

Golden China Restaurant Review I’ve been a loyal customer of Golden China Restaurant for years, but unfortunately, my recent experiences haven’t lived up to the high standards they once set. Since the new family took over, there’s been a noticeable difference in both the quality and taste of the food. Dishes that used to be flavorful and fresh now seem lacking in the same attention to detail that made the restaurant a local favorite. One of the most significant changes I've noticed is in the freshness of the ingredients. The food doesn’t taste as vibrant or as carefully prepared as it did before. It seems like some shortcuts may be taken, which has had an unfortunate impact on both the flavor and overall dining experience. While I understand that transitions can be challenging, especially when a family-run business changes hands, it’s disappointing to see a drop in quality at a place that I’ve loved for so long. I genuinely wish the new owners the best of luck, but I hope they can bring back the standards that made Golden China a standout spot in the past. I’ll give them some time and hope things improve, but for now, it just isn’t the same.

Small Chinese restaurant. Interior is a bit dated but they easily make up for it in their service and quality food. Food is made fresh when you order it and the workers are all relatively friendly people. Highly recommended!

First time there last night. It was pretty good. I had the chicken and broccoli combo with fried rice and the egg roll. The chicken and broccoli had good flavor. Egg roll was ok. I also had the chicken rice soup. That was okay. There was only one table to sit at. It looked like they are still worried about COVID.
