About Golden China Restaurant

Golden China Restaurant is situated at 33820 Old Valley Pike #5 in Strasburg, Virginia (zip code 22657), USA, and operates as a Chinese Restaurant offering both dine-in and takeout options to the local community. Recent customer feedback provides a glimpse into the dining experience at this establishment, highlighting both positive and negative aspects that potential patrons may find useful in making their decision.

One reviewer noted the absence of a buffet at Golden China Restaurant, which might be relevant information for customers who typically seek this dining format. This reviewer also observed a complete lack of customers during their visit and, upon entering, found no employees readily available to take an order, leading them to leave the premises. Based on this experience, the reviewer speculated that the restaurant might be primarily run by a couple handling all operations. This suggests the possibility of limited staffing, which could potentially impact service speed or availability at times.

In contrast, another reviewer shared a mixed experience, highlighting a significant positive aspect alongside a notable negative one. On the positive side, they praised the "really good" quality of the sauce in their dish and commended the "young man at the counter" for being "polite and attentive." This suggests that at least one staff member provides good customer service. However, the same reviewer had a negative experience with the main dishes they ordered: General Tso's chicken and sesame chicken. They described these dishes as being "very fatty" and leaving a "weird taste" in their mouth afterward. Furthermore, they reported not feeling well after consuming the food during a road trip. The reviewer found the noodles to be "alright," indicating a neutral opinion on that particular side dish.

Considering these two recent reviews, several key points emerge about Golden China Restaurant. Firstly, it is confirmed that the restaurant does not offer a buffet service, focusing instead on dine-in and takeout. Secondly, there is a possibility of limited staffing, which could potentially lead to delays in service or a lack of immediate attention upon entering the restaurant. Thirdly, the quality of the food appears to be inconsistent. While the sauce in at least one dish was highly praised, specific popular dishes like General Tso's chicken and sesame chicken were criticized for being overly fatty and leaving an unpleasant aftertaste, even causing discomfort to one customer. On a more positive note, at least one staff member is recognized for being polite and attentive, suggesting that customer service, when available, can be satisfactory.

For local users in Strasburg, VA, considering Golden China Restaurant, it would be prudent to weigh these factors. If you are specifically looking for a Chinese buffet, this restaurant will not meet that need. If you prioritize prompt service and a bustling atmosphere, the report of no customers and no readily available staff might give you pause. However, if you are primarily interested in takeout or a potentially quieter dine-in experience and are willing to try dishes where the sauce is reportedly good, Golden China Restaurant might still be an option.

The feedback regarding the food quality is particularly important. The negative experience with the General Tso's and sesame chicken, two commonly ordered dishes, suggests a potential issue with the preparation or quality of these items. However, the positive comment about the sauce indicates that there might be other dishes on the menu where the quality is more satisfactory. Without more specific information about other menu items, it is difficult to draw a comprehensive conclusion about the overall food quality.

The mention of a "young man at the counter" being polite and attentive is a positive sign for customer service. If you value friendly interactions, this suggests that at least one staff member is focused on providing a good experience. However, the other review's difficulty in even finding an employee to take an order raises concerns about the consistency of service availability.

The provided information does not include any details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance for dine-in customers, beyond the lack of other patrons observed by one reviewer. Similarly, there is no promotional information available in the text. Therefore, potential customers will need to rely on these limited observations and their own preferences when considering a visit.

For local users seeking a Chinese restaurant in Strasburg, VA, Golden China Restaurant presents a mixed profile based on recent feedback. The absence of a buffet and potential for limited staffing are factors to consider. The inconsistency in food quality, with praise for the sauce but criticism for popular chicken dishes, suggests that some menu items might be better than others. The positive mention of a polite staff member is a plus, but the difficulty in finding service reported by another reviewer is a concern. It may be beneficial to inquire about specific dishes or visit during potentially busier hours to gauge the staffing and service levels.

To contact Golden China Restaurant, you can use the phone number provided: (540) 465-1388 or the mobile number: +1 540-465-1388. You could use this number to inquire about their menu, preparation methods for specific dishes, or their current staffing levels. However, the limited and somewhat contradictory nature of the recent feedback suggests that personal experience might be the most reliable way to form an opinion about this establishment.

In conclusion, Golden China Restaurant in Strasburg, VA, offers dine-in and takeout Chinese cuisine but does not have a buffet. Recent reviews indicate potential for limited staffing, inconsistent food quality (with positive feedback on sauce but negative on some popular chicken dishes), and varying levels of service attentiveness. Local users should consider these points when deciding whether to patronize this restaurant.

There is no buffet. There is No customer at all. I walk in and left. It is just a dine in or take out. No employees to take order. I guess it is just a couple who runs all operations.

Positive: The sauce was really good and the young man at the counter was polite and attentive. Negative: The general tsos and sesame chicken was very fatty and left a weird taste in my mouth afterwards. Didn't feel great after eating it on my road trip. Noodles were alright.

Lately the order is never right. I've been upcharged twice for fried rice. Said something the second time and nothing. Not sorry. Nothing. I hate white rice. It's gross. They staple the bag before you can check and act insulted when you ask. The generals tasted old and re used. I'm going back to Great Wall.

Got vegetable pad thai and luncheon szechuan chicken (tasted like canned chicken). Both were tasteless/flavorless! No spice. Not impressed.

I have ordered delivery through Door Dash 3 times from this restaurant. Each time they have left out a whole meal. Today was the final straw. When I called they clearly knew they did not put it in the bag. I am filing a complaint through the Attorney General of Virginia. This appears to me to be a strategy on the part of Golden China owners to steal from customers--charging without providing the product. Law enforcement should actually investigate to see how many people this is happening to because it seems like I am not the only one. They should be run out of town as we do not need these unscrupulous businesses in the community. And the reviewer who found plastic in their food should have contacted the Virginia Department of Health. I will see if I can help that along as well.
