I ordered through GrubHub. This restaurant delivers their own food. AND it is ongoingly late! Not 5 or 10 minutes... 45 min - 1 hour late. Today I tried lunch, a slower time, rather than a Saturday. True to form... LATE! Was due by 130 and it arrived at 218. I called them at 140 and they said 5 minutes.. yup thats the message every time. and they are less than 2 miles from my home. Today we ordered Chicken with Chinese vegetable combo ( friend rice and veggie egg roll) and egg drop soup. Yeah no. The eggroll had shrimp in it, and I had to take a benedryl for allergy! The "Chicken" was 4 little strands of Chicken in a sea of onion with 3 slices of carrot and 4 peapods. thats it... oh wait we just found a piece of mushroom. It was oversaled and, other than salt, tasteless. The friend rice was dry and flavorless. The eggdrop soup was actually good. AND they did not put in any noodles in the bag to top the soup... duh. They did include 2 fortune cookies. They do NOT follow delivery directions. We specifically stated leave at door, text do not call. AND, they rang and rang and rang the bell and banged on the door until we answered.... why ??? it interrupted the convo I was on the middle of on Zoom! Totally not being responsible or professional. Overall, this was a horrible experience. AND the final straw....this is the last time we will try this place. We try to support neighborhood businesses, and this one is OFF THE LIST.
Atmosphere is a dumb question for this restaurant. Very friendly staff. Never had a problem. Thankfully has wonderful general tso and fried wontons. Most of the bad reviews have to do with a poor delivery experience, not necessarily the food. For the best experience - i recommend sticking to the classic dishes, pre ordering online, and picking up.
3 orders the past month, all ordered online, all delivered early and all 100% correct. The egg foo young is great, not too thick. They make a pretty good version of Phila Cheesesteak. I'm about to enjoy this great smelling Chicken w/Broccoli.
I work in an assisted living home and one of my residents had ordered Chinese food for dinner earlier this evening and the delivery driver was sitting in front of the building apparently for like 5 minutes and one of the visitors from another resident was in the process of leaving and said "hey there's a guy parked out here did anyone order Chinese food" and one of my residents said "yes that's me." The only thing is he was refusing to come into the building to deliver the food and this resident was in a wheelchair and is disabled and is unable to go out and get food so normally delivery drivers would come in and deliver their own. NORMALLY. So I went to the door and asked what was up and he shouted "Did somebody or delivery? They need to come out and get it." And I said "Yes, one of the residents here did. It's not me. You'll need to come in and deliver it to her." and he said " I didn't get my money yet!!" (She was paying cash) So, he basically insinuated that he wasn't going to go and deliver the food until he had his money. Well, I can't leave to retrieve it from the car so I said to him "This person is in a wheelchair. You know you're delivering to an Assisted Living Community with people who are elderly, disabled or need assistance in average day to day things and they cannot come outside and get the food from the car. Just come in and deliver it to her please!" and so he started talking some trash and a language I couldn't understand and then I told him "You don't need to be rude. Stop getting an attitude and being ignorant and please come in and deliver her food to her and she will give you the money when you get inside!" and so he started talking trash and gave me dirty looks. So, I walked away and I went back inside and then a minute later he knocked on the door and rang the door bell and I'm assuming that he's going to deliver the food. Well, he does but when he comes in, he is SCREAMING at the top of his lungs walking towards her coming at her complaining "Why didn't you come out and get it?! I didn't even get my money yet!! Where's the money?!? I'll give you the food once I have the money!!!" And I stopped him there and I said " Don't you talk to her like that! You are dealing with people who are handicapped or disabled and if you don't want the same fate later on in life you better be respectful, stop screaming in her face, take a step back and try that again because that's completely unreasonable, unacceptable, and absolutely ridiculous so please adjust your attitude! Get the money, give her the food and leave PLEASE." After I said that he calmed down but he was still very rude and impatient and I ended up recording him for her safety because he was being so unreasonable and rude and you don't treat the elderly like that. You don't treat a customer like that. I mean, like REALLY. Maybe he didn't realize that he was in a nursing home but he was completely unreasonable and ridiculous and I refuse to support that business EVER AGAIN. I was so disgusted with that man. I couldn't even believe it. It was like unreal I've never seen anything like it in my life. Oh, and he put the food on the top counter at the front desk where she couldn't reach it and walked out. 😳😠🤬 I called the restaurant and explained the situation and told the lady who answered the phone what happened and she was very understanding and kind and I appreciate her for that but I still felt the need to share this review. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Every time I deal with the young guy over the phone he never listens to my order. I always deal with 1 specific delivery guy and the woman. Needless to say I will never order there again and they will never receive my 7plus follar tip for one dinner! I'd appreciate if the owner reaches out to me in regards to this matter bc I was very specific about my order that I cannot eat now because I cannot have SPICY food. The young guy try telling me on the phone that I didn't tell him my order that way even though he read it back to me exactly how I requested it. Now I get to sit at work tonight with no dinner! You lost my service from this day forward!!!
