About Golden China

Golden China, located at 5406 NE Fourth Plain Blvd in Vancouver, WA 98661, is a local establishment categorized as a Chinese Restaurant. Serving the Vancouver area, they can be contacted at their phone number: (360) 695-0626 or their mobile phone: +1 360-695-0626. Based on the limited information available, Golden China appears to operate with a buffet-style service in addition to potential dine-in and takeout options. The customer reviews provide mixed feedback regarding the food quality and overall dining experience.

One customer shares a positive impression of the service, noting that the staff is "always the sweetest" when they visit. They also highlight the generous portion sizes, describing them as "huge," and the low prices. This reviewer draws a comparison to Panda Express, suggesting that Golden China might offer a similar style of American Chinese cuisine, perhaps with a focus on value and larger servings. Despite the comparison, they conclude that the food is "yummy," indicating a satisfactory taste experience for them.

In stark contrast, another customer expresses significant dissatisfaction with the food. They state that they "wouldn’t pay for an entree even if it was for $5.00," indicating a very low opinion of the food's worth. Their primary criticism is that the food is "extremely salty," to the point where they believe it could contribute to hypertension (HBP). This suggests a potential issue with the seasoning of the dishes, making them unpalatable for some customers. This reviewer recounts a shared negative experience with their partner, where both agreed that their meal was "what a waste of money," leading to a strong negative assessment of their dining experience at Golden China.

A third review provides further insights, particularly regarding the buffet aspect of the restaurant. This customer recounts a negative experience at what they identify as a "buffet style Chinese restaurant with zero customers." The lack of patronage raised a red flag for them, which was seemingly validated by the appearance of the food in the "hot case," which looked as if it had been sitting for hours. This suggests potential issues with food freshness and turnover, common concerns for buffets with low customer traffic. Interestingly, this reviewer found the service to be "cool," describing both the man and woman who helped them as "overly nice," though they perceived this niceness as potentially "not genuine." Despite the pleasant service, the poor impression of the food's freshness has likely deterred this customer from returning, as they conclude with "Most likely won’t come back."

Considering these three reviews, Golden China presents a mixed picture. On one hand, it is praised for its sweet service, large portions, and low prices by a customer who found the food "yummy," drawing a parallel to a popular fast-casual chain. On the other hand, there are significant concerns raised about the food being excessively salty and potentially not fresh, especially in the context of a seemingly underattended buffet. The service, while described as sweet or nice by two reviewers, was also perceived as potentially insincere by one, highlighting a possible disconnect between the staff's demeanor and the quality of the food.

Regarding the environment of Golden China, the third review offers some indirect insight by mentioning a "hot case" typical of a buffet setup and the lack of customers. This suggests a possibly spacious dining area designed to accommodate a buffet line. However, the lack of customers might also imply a less vibrant or appealing atmosphere. The first reviewer's comparison to Panda Express might suggest a casual and functional environment rather than a more traditional or upscale Chinese restaurant setting. No direct descriptions of the décor, cleanliness, or overall ambiance are provided in the reviews.

In terms of services, Golden China clearly offers dine-in service with a buffet option, as indicated by the third review. They also likely provide takeout, given that they are categorized as a Chinese restaurant and have received customer feedback on specific dishes. The service is described as "sweet" and "overly nice" by some, suggesting a friendly staff, although one reviewer questioned the genuineness of this friendliness in light of the food quality. The efficiency of the service, particularly for takeout, is not explicitly mentioned.

As for features, the buffet style is a significant feature of Golden China, allowing customers to sample a variety of dishes. The large portion sizes and low prices, as highlighted by one reviewer, could be considered a key feature for value-conscious customers. The comparison to Panda Express might suggest a menu focused on popular American Chinese dishes. However, the concerns about the food being overly salty and potentially sitting out for extended periods in the buffet are significant drawbacks that could negate any positive features.

No specific promotional information, such as discounts on the buffet, special menu items, or limited-time offers, is mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in learning about any current promotions at Golden China would need to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers or check if they have any online presence where such information might be advertised.

In conclusion, Golden China in Vancouver, WA, is a Chinese restaurant offering a buffet and likely takeout services. It is characterized by its sweet service, large portions, and low prices, drawing a comparison to Panda Express by one customer. However, there are serious concerns raised by other reviewers regarding the excessive saltiness of the food and the potential lack of freshness in the buffet, especially when customer traffic is low. The environment seems to be geared towards a buffet setup, but its appeal might be diminished by the lack of customers and concerns about food sitting out. Local users considering Golden China should weigh these contrasting opinions and might want to inquire about the freshness of the buffet items or consider ordering directly from the menu if available.

They are always the sweetest when we come in! The portions are huge and the prices are low. It's definitely not like other Chinese restaurants, definitely more of Panda Express's cousin situation. But it's yummy!

I wouldn’t pay for an entree even if it was for $5.00. Their food is extremely salty, enough to give you hypertension HBP. My partner and I, we both looked at each other after taking a bite and said “what a waste of money”. Lesson learned, don’t eat at buffet style Chinese restaurants with zero customers, and their hot case looking like the food has been sitting for hours. The service was cool, both man and woman who helped were overly nice, I felt like it wasn’t genuine. Most likely won’t come back

Friendly service and good food. The egg rolls are perfectly crisp on the outside. The crab puffs used a light and crispy wonton wrapper. Definitely recommend.
