About Golden China Buffet

Golden China Buffet, located at 1150 Spur Dr in Marshfield, Missouri, falls under the platform category of Chinese Restaurant, specifically offering a buffet-style dining experience. As a Chinese buffet, it typically provides a wide array of prepared Chinese dishes from which customers can serve themselves. Golden China Buffet can be contacted at (417) 468-1646 or via mobile at +1 417-468-1646.

Customer reviews for Golden China Buffet present a somewhat contrasting picture of the dining experience. One reviewer expressed a highly negative initial impression, stating that they felt "unwelcome" upon entering the restaurant. They further described the food as "bland with few options" and the staff as "extremely dismissive." This reviewer also mentioned being charged dinner pricing despite the limited selection available and expressed extreme dissatisfaction, wishing they could give "no stars." This feedback highlights significant concerns regarding the atmosphere, food quality and variety, service, and pricing from at least one customer's perspective.

In contrast, another reviewer offered a more positive, albeit qualified, assessment. They stated that the "Food is good, as far as any Chinese buffet goes," indicating that it meets their expectations for this type of dining establishment. This reviewer also noted that Golden China Buffet is their "go-to place in Marshfield" for Chinese food, suggesting a level of local popularity and consistent satisfaction for this particular customer. They also mentioned that takeout orders are available and are filled from the buffet selection.

A specific dish, the "Cashew Chicken," was highlighted as tasting "good" and being what it "should be for local flavor." This suggests that Golden China Buffet may have adapted some of its dishes to suit regional preferences, which can be a draw for local diners. The reviewer also provided an estimate of the cost, stating that it is "about $15 per person with drinks & tax." This gives potential customers an idea of the price point for dining at the buffet.

Considering the limited information available from these two reviews, the environment of Golden China Buffet is not explicitly described in positive terms. The negative review's mention of feeling "unwelcome" suggests that the atmosphere might not be inviting for all customers. The positive reviewer does not comment on the ambiance, focusing instead on the food and its local appeal. As a buffet, the layout would likely involve various stations holding different food items, with seating areas for diners.

In terms of services, Golden China Buffet offers both dine-in (as a buffet) and takeout options. The takeout service is notable as it allows customers to enjoy the buffet's offerings off-site. The stark contrast in service experiences reported by the two reviewers is concerning, with one describing the staff as "extremely dismissive" and the other not commenting on service at all, implying it was perhaps adequate but not remarkable. Attentive and welcoming service is crucial for a positive dining experience, and the negative feedback in this area should be noted.

The features of Golden China Buffet include its buffet format, providing a wide selection of dishes at a fixed price (though the variety was questioned by one reviewer). A specific feature mentioned by the positive reviewer is the locally flavored Cashew Chicken, which seems to be a popular item. The price point of around $15 per person with drinks and tax is also a key feature for budget-conscious diners in Marshfield.

Information regarding specific promotional offers is not included in the provided reviews. Buffets sometimes offer discounts for children, seniors, or during certain days or times, but this cannot be confirmed for Golden China Buffet based on the given information. Local users interested in any promotions should contact the restaurant directly to inquire.

In conclusion, Golden China Buffet in Marshfield, MO, is a local Chinese buffet offering both dine-in and takeout services. Customer reviews present a mixed experience, with one reporting feeling unwelcome, finding the food bland with limited options, experiencing dismissive staff, and being overcharged. In contrast, another reviewer found the food to be generally good for a Chinese buffet, highlighted the locally flavored Cashew Chicken, and provided an estimated cost of $15 per person. The environment and service quality appear to be areas of concern based on the negative review. Local users considering Golden China Buffet should be aware of these contrasting opinions and might want to weigh the convenience of a local buffet and the reported appeal of the Cashew Chicken against potential issues with atmosphere, food variety and quality, and service consistency.

As soon as I walked in I felt unwelcome. The food was bland with few options, the staff was extremely dismissive. I also got charged dinner pricing for the limited selection. I wish I could give no stars.

Food is good, as far as any Chinese buffet goes. It's my go-to place in Marshfield. Take out orders come off the buffet as well. Cashew Chicken sauce tastes good, and what it should be for local flavor. Costs about $15 per person with drinks & tax.

The food was barely edible. Needed a knife to cut the fruit and then it was so hard, could barely chew it. The buffet had several options but they tasted like they had been rewarmed for a couple of days. Very disappointing and won't return. The hostess had a scowl on her face like it was our fault she had to work. Do not eat here!!!!

Food was awful, made mine and my fiancé’s stomachs upset about 15 minutes after eating just then few bites from the food we tried. Service was trashy, building is run down and has a slight odor. The lady that checked us out also gave herself a $5 or more tip. I don’t recommend eating here. I wouldn’t even eat here if I was starving and if it was free. Absolutely disgusting.

This is a small town Chinese buffet that is family owned and operated. The food is always fresh and you can count on the same great quality and the same classic dishes everytime. We eat here atleast once a month for the last 5 years, sometimes a couple times a month. I've never been disappointed. I love the cashew chicken, crab Rangoon, salad bar, broccoli chicken and green beans. My kids love the sweet and sour chicken and the lo mein. They also get the sweet and sour sauce to dip their crab rangoons in. The staff is quiet but attentive.
