About Golden Bay Seafood Harbor 金海湾渔港

Golden Bay Seafood Harbor, also known as 金海湾渔港, is a Chinese Restaurant located at 34348 Alvarado-Niles Rd, Union City, CA 94587, USA. You can contact them at (510) 487-8880 or +1 510-487-8880. Based on customer reviews, this establishment appears to be a popular spot, especially on weekends, offering a wide range of seafood and meat dishes for dinner and dim sum during the day.

One reviewer noted that the restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday, indicating its popularity, particularly during peak times. This might suggest that the atmosphere can be lively and bustling, which could be a positive for some but overwhelming for others. The same reviewer also mentioned that a significant portion of the clientele was elderly and spoke loudly, which might contribute to a noisy dining environment. Their assessment of the food was not highly positive, describing it as "not great." However, they speculated that the low prices might be a significant factor in its popularity, and they mentioned tipping 16% for a group of six, which they seemed to imply was linked to the perceived value.

Another customer, while not explicitly stating they were at Golden Bay Seafood Harbor, made a comparison to Pearl Bay in Fremont, indicating a preference for the latter in terms of both environment and food quality. This suggests that some diners in the broader area might perceive other Chinese seafood restaurants as offering a superior experience.

A practical tip from one reviewer is that large parties should make a reservation in advance. This reinforces the idea that Golden Bay Seafood Harbor can get busy, and planning ahead is advisable for larger groups wishing to dine there.

On a more positive note, a regular customer described Golden Bay Seafood Harbor as a familiar and reliable spot. They highlighted that the restaurant offers "all your typical seafood dishes and meat dishes for dinner." This suggests a comprehensive menu catering to a variety of tastes. Additionally, they pointed out that dim sum is available during the day, expanding the restaurant's offerings beyond just dinner service. This reviewer found the prices to be "decent" and the portion sizes to be "huge," indicating good value for money. A notable feature mentioned is the consistent availability of crab and lobsters, which are often sought after in seafood restaurants.

However, this regular customer also expressed a slight disappointment at the absence of squab or quails on their recent visit, suggesting that the availability of certain specialty items might vary. Despite this, they found the service to be "still good" and effective in providing a "delicious family meal." This implies that while there might be occasional variations in the menu, the overall service and the quality of the food for family dining are generally satisfactory for this patron.

Adding a personal touch, this reviewer hoped that the restaurant would consider offering complimentary soups for customers who order a significant amount of dishes, suggesting a potential area for service enhancement or a promotional idea.

Finally, the reviewer included a social media handle (@only1christinelu on Instagram) for more "Good food stops," which, while not directly about the restaurant itself, indicates a personal recommendation from someone who enjoys dining out.

Considering these reviews, Golden Bay Seafood Harbor 金海湾渔港 in Union City appears to be a popular Chinese Restaurant, especially known for its seafood and dim sum. The environment can be crowded and noisy, particularly on weekends. While one reviewer found the food to be just "not great," they also pointed out the potentially appealing low prices. In contrast, a regular customer appreciates the typical seafood and meat dishes for dinner, the dim sum during the day, the decent prices, and the large portions. The consistent availability of crab and lobster is a notable feature. The service is generally considered good and efficient for family meals, although the availability of specific items like squab or quails might vary. Large parties are advised to make reservations.

For local users in Union City looking for a Chinese Restaurant with a wide selection of seafood and meat dishes, as well as dim sum, Golden Bay Seafood Harbor is a potential option. The large portions and decent prices might appeal to those seeking value. However, be prepared for a potentially crowded and noisy environment, especially during peak hours. If you are planning to dine with a large group, making a reservation is recommended. There were a lot of people on Saturday and it felt very crowded. Most of the customers were elderly and spoke very loudly. The food wasn't great but I guess because the prices were low and we only tipped 16% for 6 people, it was popular. If it's in Fremont, I still prefer Pearl Bay, the environment and food are better. Big party better make the reservation first .

This is a regular spot for us, they have all your typical seafood dishes and meat dishes for dinner. During the day there’s dim sum and the prices are decent and dishes are huge. They always have crab or lobsters. I was a little disappointed there was no squab this time or quails. The service is still good here and they get the job done for a delicious family meal. I hope they offer complimentary soups for customer who are ordering a good amount of dishes. Follow on IG @only1christinelu For more Good food stops.

Not bad, crowded and good value! We loved their huge siumai and dry scallop egg fried rice. The rice roll and beef balls were just meh. We wanted to try other stuff like pineapple bun which we see a lot of people older and fried taro next time. Also wanted to try the three dish special beef xo mushrooms, spicy boil fish and Peking spareribs. Good service very Cantonese and I appreciate they don't charge for tea. Automatic 16% tips included which I don't mind because they provide good service anyway.

I recently dined at this dim sum restaurant with my family tonight. We ordered three dishes, and while the food was excellent, the service was below average. I was disappointed to find a 14% tip automatically added to our bill without prior notice. Additionally, I observed that VIP customers could select their own tip amount. This inconsistency in tipping policy may deter future customers.

Wonderful Dim Sum experience. Everything was very fresh and tasted really good. The turnip cake is the best I have ever had. The Shui Mai were huge and really good. The service was quick and very responsive. Would definitely go again.
