Gold Star Chinese Restaurant

Ordered for delivery, website was was easy to use and had options for customization on the orders which was nice. I'm a pretty basic guy when it comes to Chinese food , a guilty as charged boneless BBQ spare rib lover, and I'm always looking for that perfect order. Chasing it like some sort of fever dream. And I have to say this place impressed me, the flavor of the ribs was fantastic. The quality of the meat was great and the cook on the meat was awesome with just the right amount of char and crunch and everything. The pieces of meat come surprisingly large which is a little different but honestly it worked, would absolutely recommend this place. The picture is a little deceiving because I ate like 90% of it, I literally couldn't control myself before snapping a picture. The general tso's chicken, extra spicy, was actually extra spicy and it was actually delicious. Very pleased with this as well. Everything else was also very good.

Worst chinese food. Dry rice, dried out chicken wings. The egg roll was fried to hell.

We are new in the Hamden area, and were really unsure as to what China place we wanted to try, as the reviews for everything local was not great, so we both decided to try Gold Star and oh boy was it good, chkn broccoli, general chows and crab Rangoon. They were all fantastic, especially the crab Rangoon, nice and krispy and the filling was so good. We really appreciate it chef thank you! Will be back soon.

Stopped by for a quick bite and decided on the combo meal of General Tsos Chicken and Pork Fried rice. Why does this restaurant have such high reviews?! The rice was mushy and seemed like it was scraped straight from the bottom of the pot and don't get me started on the chicken...it almost felt like I was eating super market Tyson chicken nuggets drowned in old gen tso sauce. What a terrible meal, and overpriced for what you get. Do NOT recommend.
