About Gold Dumpling

For our local users in US interested in discovering new Chinese Restaurants, let us introduce Gold Dumpling, a recently opened establishment located at 1970 Victory Blvd #6, Staten Island, NY 10314, USA. You can reach them at (347) 825-3533 or +1 347-825-3533.

Based on initial customer feedback, Gold Dumpling appears to have quickly gained attention for its standout feature: handmade noodles. One reviewer who tried the chicken lo mein with white noodles specifically praised the excellent texture and bite of these noodles, noting that the owner confirmed they are hand-pulled. This dedication to fresh, handmade noodles could be a significant draw for those who appreciate quality and authentic noodle dishes.

The restaurant also offers a variety of other dishes. The pan-fried pork & chive dumplings were reported to be good, and the pork bao buns were described as juicy. While the chicken wings were also noted as good, the portion size was mentioned as only six pieces.

A particularly noteworthy aspect of Gold Dumpling is its extensive selection of gluten-free options. According to a review, they offer gluten-free dumplings, buns, and noodles, which are considered very special. This makes Gold Dumpling a potentially excellent choice for individuals with gluten sensitivities or those preferring gluten-free cuisine.

Overall, early impressions of Gold Dumpling are positive, especially regarding their handmade noodles and gluten-free offerings. If you have friends or family in the Staten Island area of New York, or if you plan to visit, Gold Dumpling might be worth exploring for a taste of their unique dishes. The reviewers have expressed intentions to return, particularly for the handmade noodles, and have wished the new business success.

New restaurant opened up about 2 weeks ago. Had to check it out. We ordered the pan-fried pork & chive dumplings & the chicken lo mein with white noodles. Added the chicken wings & pork bao buns subsequently. The dumplings were good, but the handmade noodles were excellent! The owner said he pulled them himself! Great texture and bite to the noodles. The chicken wings were good but came with only 6 pieces. The pork bao bun was juicy! We wish them good luck with their business. Great selection to choose from if you're gluten-free! We'll go back for those handmade noodles!

So glad that a Korean Fried Chicken place opened near us! Much more accessible than Bonchon. The portions were very generous (chicken pieces were sizeable and was filling after 2-3 pieces each person) We went with the combination special (15 wings) and was given 5 wings (gangnam style), 5 soy garlic boneless and 5 sweet and spicy boneless. The gangnam style reminded me of popeyes fried chicken with a kick. The boneless wings were not as dry as I expected of boneless which was amazing. Personally, I feel the soy garlic wings could be more garlicky and the sweet and spicy wings (sweet chili sauce) could use more garnishing. Some seasame seeds could go a long way. I would say the flavoring (SG and SS) are a tad below Bonchon in terms of flavor profile but for the price point, definitely a great choice. Something about the chicken reminds me of Chinese Fried Chicken (think 98K). We hope the establishment does well and will definitely be coming back for the value.

The food is delicious, I must say that. But if you're looking for fully authentic Korean flavor (at least in the bibimbap and tteokbogi) this isn't exactly it. Tastes more like Chinese ingredients in Korean recipes. I still enjoyed my food, it was delicious and portions were HUGE. But you can tell it's like a Chinese version of Korean food. Just an FYI for anyone really craving that gochujang, sesame flavor with kimchi, pickled radish and marinated burdock root. Instead you'll get a (very yummy) blend of oyster mushroom, jalapeño, and fresh cabbage.
